Modified Cascade

Coral, Blush, White and Gold Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal

It might be the week of Halloween, but if you are looking forward to your spring wedding, today’s silk wedding flowers might give you the inspiration you need! Katie’s coral, blush, white and gold color scheme was fun to work with. This combination of colors and a touch of shine with the gold was both a really romantic theme and also a little glamorous! I’m also excited to get to show you the usual bridal bouquet photos, but she also sent some awesome photos of her custom silk flower altar arrangement and cake flowers! Let’s take a look at these lovely photos from Liz Marie Photography.

Katie’s bouquet was a loose, modified cascade style bouquet with a mix of nude Roses, blush Hydrangea, blush Spray Roses, dark and light coral Rose buds, white Roses, gold Greenery and mini Ruscus. The gold brought some shine while the greenery really popped for their outdoor wedding.

The bridesmaids were in beautiful matching coral dresses that brought out those tones so nicely in the bouquets. They carried bouquets that were a loose handtied style with the same mix of flowers as Katie’s bouquet.

Katie also ordered 3 custom silk flower cake clusters to go on the layers of her wedding cake. They were all a little different from each other but incorporated the color scheme and some gold greenery.

Since Katie’s mom lived near by, we didn’t have to worry about shipping larger arrangements like her altar flowers. That meant her corner piece could be big and awesome. She also ordered a matching smaller piece for the other side of the arch for an asymmetrical look.

These lilacs sure make a beautiful backdrop!

Harry Potter x Lord of the Rings Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Today’s wedding features something I’d never dreamed I’d see incorporated into a wedding, but then again, why not? People who love their dogs and cats include them, and I’ve made tiny silk flower arrangements for both. But today, I get to show you the flowers I created for Kaitlyn’s Harry Potter x Lord of the Rings Wedding that featured an OWL! There are also a few other birds that make an appearance, so don’t skip any of these photos from TMT Weddings!

Here’s our awesome couple! You may recognize Kaitlyn’s bouquet from Alex’s Harry Potter Themed Custom Silk Wedding Flowers I featured last year. Kaitlyn saw those flowers and loved them, so we tailored a few things to fit her Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings theme and brought her vision to life! Her modified cascade style bridal bouquet included navy Roses, silver Dusty Miller, burgundy Peonies, gold Mimosa, Olive greens and some added mixed greens for filler. What I didn’t anticipate was the magic that Kaitlyn added to it!

The bridesmaids carried round hand tied style bouquets with a Peony, gold Mimosa, navy Roses, Dusty Miller and Olive greenery. A perfect match to the bridal bouquet!

They didn’t make it in these photos, but the groomsmen had small boutonnieres with a mix of the colors in silver, elvish looking boutonniere holders. I thought that was such a unique idea!

I had a Harry Potter/lord of the rings wedding. She did an amazing job at every little detail I asked for for my bouquets for my girls and for mine and the boys boutonnières. She kept me updated on the progress of my flowers and while I waited to receive them she responded timely to every email and/question I had for her. When they arrived they were packaged very well to not cause any damage during shipping. They arrived beautifully and brought tears to my eyes! I would 10/10 recommend her to anyone and everyone getting married or needing floral arrangements!

Revisiting This Wedding Day Reveal of Silk Flowers

Today we are revisiting a moment in time that could included great joy when things were just…hard! I love that Rachel has this moment to look back on with fondness, no matter what else was going on in the world! One thing I didn’t talk about in my original post was what was in the arrangements. As you scroll down to see them, you’ll see the bouquets made up of Hydrangea, Dahlia, Tulips, Ruscus, and plum Astilbe in the bridesmaid bouquets. The bridal bouquet was a modified cascade style with those flowers plus Roses, Ranunculus, Seedum and Fern. I love that she chose a bouquet that was quite a bit different than the bridesmaids. Let’s take a look at this awesome wedding from 2020!

There is nothing sweeter than getting to see my flowers out in “the wild.” I spend time chatting and designing with each client and then I send their silk wedding flowers off to their Happily Ever After. Rachel sent me some shots from her wedding with her bridal bouquet that made me gasp and slap my husband on the arm as I pointed at my phone screen.

These breathtaking images were taken by the very talented MVphotos. If you want to see more of Madalyn’s amazing work, you can find her on Instagram (madalynvermeerphotos), Facebook (MVphotos), or shoot her an email to book her for your own wedding (info@madalynvphotography.com). Thanks Madalyn for the photos!

2020 sure has provided us with some unique situations! I love that these two lovebirds decided to make this a sweet moment to remember.

This detail shot is so fun! How many of you are hoping for a photo that captures all those details you spent so much time on?

Blush, Dusty Pink, Blue and White Silk Wedding Flowers- Reveal and Review

Today’s wedding is a really pretty combination of blush, dusty pink, blue and white silk wedding flowers. As you’ll see from the photos that bride Emily sent me, this was a soft romantic color palette that worked great for her outdoor wedding. Let’s take a look at the photos she sent me from her amazing photographer Brandi Doleman.

Emily’s bouquet was a unique style in that we slightly modified a modified cascade style. She didn’t quite want a teardrop shape, but not as round as a modified cascade. Her bouquet was composed of white, nude, and dusty pink Roses, blush pink Peonies, blue Astilbe and Thistle, Stephanotis, Orchids, white Heather, beige Baby’s Breath, Willow and Eucalyptus. Here bridesmaids were wearing a variety of these colors and she wanted to include them in her bouquet. It tied everything together so nicely!

The bridesmaids carried clutch style bouquet with the same mix of the bridal flowers. One of the bouquets was actually for an attendant on the groom’s side, so we included a bit more of the blue accents in her bouquet to match the guys more closely. It was an easy tweak to the design so that it set it apart but still matched with the bridesmaids.

Erin is SO sweet to work with and VERY prompt with communication and getting everything situated and organized! She is super easy to talk to and very accommodating if you have a particular idea in mind! The wedding flowers were everything I would’ve dreamed of and were just absolutely perfect! I couldn’t have been happier! I HIGHLY recommend her for any of your floral needs!

Recreating a Bouquet You Love For Your Wedding - Reveal & Review

I’ve had a number of brides find a blog post of mine and fall in love with the look of a bouquet I’ve made for another bride. Today’s bride, Tommy, loved this modified cascade bridal bouquet that I made a few years ago and wanted the same bouquet for herself! I was able to design a few more custom arrangements to match and we had custom silk wedding flowers for her big day! Let’s take a look at a few of the photos Tommy sent me from her photographer, Ron Park Photography.

Tommy’s modified cascade silk bridal bouquet was a mix of Sunflowers, dusty blue Wisteria, white Baby’s Breath, Silver Dollar Eucalyptus, Succulents and Peacock Feathers. Her daughter carried a small, simplified bouquet of Sunflowers, Baby’s Breath, one Succulent and some Eucalyptus. I really liked how they complemented each other without being matchy-matchy.

The groom’s boutonniere included a Succulent, mini Sunflowers, Baby’s Breath and a touch of the dusty blue Wisteria. I loved that Tommy went with a Succulent as the main “flower” for the boutonniere.

I also got to design and create two custom hair pieces for Tommy and her daughter. We used the same mix of flowers from the bridal bouquet with a touch of smaller leafed greenery and of course those classy Peacock feathers had to make an appearance!

I was searching for examples of sunflowers and peacock feather bouquets and came across Love Is Blooming. I emailed Erin immediately when I saw she had made the exact combination that I was looking for. She was great to work with, very informative and kept me updated on the progress.

Mauve, Terra Cotta, Nude, Champagne, Blush and Berry Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

If you are looking for a unique, non pink, variety of colors palette that stands out, today is the wedding for you! Heather reached out to me with a lovely color palette of mauve, terra cotta, nude, sage, champagne, and navy. We ended up adding in some peach and blush to blend between the bolder tones. Another unique feature is that Heather really wanted to include Bunny tails, a preserved accent that added some softness and texture to the arrangements. Let’s take a look at Heather’s custom silk wedding flowers, photographed by Melissa McKean Photography!

Heather’s bouquet was a modified cascade style based on an inspiration photo that had just a slight cascade to it. The design included: a mix of standard Eucalyptus, Bunny Tails, nude Roses, champagne Peonies, berry Tea roses, blush Roses, toast Roses, mauve Peonies, terra cotta Roses and Silver Dollar Eucalyptus.

The bridesmaid bouquets were smaller handtied style bouquets based on an inspiration photo and were simplified to include a terra cotta Rose, nude Rose, toast Roses, berry Tea Rose, mauve Peony, Bunny Tails and both kinds of eucalyptus.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Erin from Love is Blooming for my wedding flowers, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the entire experience. From start to finish, Erin demonstrated exceptional professionalism, creativity, and a genuine commitment to making my floral vision come to life. One of the standout qualities of Erin’s service was her consistent communication throughout the entire process. At every stage, she provided timely updates, ensuring I was involved in the decision-making process. This level of communication not only put me at ease but also made the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free. The care Erin took in packaging each arrangement was evident from the moment I received them. Every bouquet, greenery strand, boutonniere, and corsage was meticulously prepared and arrived in perfect condition. It was evident that Erin takes great pride in her work, and her attention to detail truly set her apart. Working with Erin was an absolute breeze. She was not only professional but also personable, making the collaboration feel more like a partnership. She listened attentively to my ideas, offered valuable suggestions, and translated my vision into stunning floral arrangements that exceeded my expectations. The bridal bouquet, bridesmaids’ bouquets, greenery centerpieces, boutonnieres, and the mother of the bride/groom corsages were beautiful. The silk flowers were vibrant and arranged with an artistic touch that added an extra layer of elegance to my wedding. I highly recommend Erin from Love is Blooming to anyone in search of a talented and dedicated silk florist. Her commitment to excellent communication, careful packaging, and outstanding creativity made my wedding floral experience unforgettable. Erin’s expertise and friendly demeanor made her a joy to work with, and I am truly grateful for the beautiful contribution she made to my special day.

Burgundy, White and Green Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Today’s wedding feels like the perfect one to share right before Christmas! The color scheme is classic and the designs work for both a fall wedding, which is when local bride Erika walked down the aisle, or a winter wedding! Let’s take a look at these lovely photos from Agape Moments Photography to see Erika’s burgundy, white and green custom silk wedding flowers.

Here’s our awesome bridal party! The girls were in lovely burgundy dresses that popped against their beautiful natural setting with all that green and also against the white of the flowers. I really love how some of the delicate flowers in Erika’s bouquet accented the delicate lace on the bodice of her amazing dress.

Here’s a closer look at Erika’s modified cascade style silk bridal bouquet. It was composed of white Cabbage Roses, Ranunculus and Stephanotis, burgundy Dahlia and Cabbage Roses, white Seeds and mix of Seeded and Silver Dollar Eucalyptus in an asymmetrical cascade. We finished it off with Antique White satin ribbon for a very bridal, but modern look.

Since the bridesmaids were in burgundy, we decided to feature all the white flowers in their bouquets and use the round handtied shape. It made for a cohesive but different look.

Erika also ordered some bulk greenery and seeds for the centerpieces she was making herself. I supplied her with bundles for each table and she was able to incorporate the greenery and seeds around her floating candles on chargers. It was a nice touch that tied everything together without needing full on floral centerpieces.

Boutonnieres and corsages used the same flowers from the bouquets to match the look over all.

Erin is fantastic to work with! Her intake is thorough, communication is prompt and her work is absolutely gorgeous! I received many compliments on the arrangements, including how realistic they are! I will continue to refer Erin to anyone who asks!

Berry, Purple, Peach and Pink Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

I am SO excited to share a wedding today that accomplished the feat of being bright and moody! Marissa’s custom silk wedding flowers had pops of bright tones in berry purple, peach and pink, but at the same time had depth and texture and greenery that kept it toned down. When you put the flowers against a beautiful natural backdrop like they had, it was perfect! Let’s take a look at these amazing photos by Mountain Meandering Photography.

Marissa’s modified cascade style bridal bouquet was a mix of berry Dahlia, peach Cabbage Roses, magenta Peony, peach and plum Ranunculus, berry Tea Roses, Willow greens, Olive greens, pink Waxflower, bright pink Carnation, watermelon and burgundy roses. When it was put together, Marissa made a few tweaks of flower placement and then gave her stamp of approval!

The bridesmaids wore the most gorgeous shade of berry pink, not too bright and not too purple. They carried clutch style bouquets with a mix of magenta Peonies, berry Tea Roses and peach Ranunculus and greenery

The guys wore flowers that were featured in the bouquets with the groom wearing a berry Tea Rose with touches of magenta and peach and the groomsmen wore peach Ranunculus with a tiny bit of Waxflower. The littlest guy, the ringbearer had a Tea Rose bud and Waxflower.

Erin did such an amazing job making my wedding flowers. I know it may seem a little nerve-racking ordering wedding flowers online, but Erin was so helpful during the whole process. I couldn’t be happier with how my bouquet turned out. And the best part is, it will stay beautiful forever! I highly recommend having silk flowers for your wedding, especially from Love is Blooming! Thanks again so much.

Dusty Pink and White Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Lucky us, we get to look back on a beautiful wedding sent in by bride Alycia! Her vision for her custom silk wedding flowers included dusty pinks and white with a mixture of greenery for full and lush and “natural” looking bouquets. Let’s take a closer look at the photos she sent me by her talented photographer: Blessed Day Photography by Megan Edmonds.

Alycia’s bouquet was a modified cascade style based on an inspiration photo she sent me. Even though it was a photo of an altar arrangement, it showed the shape and composition she loved with just the right ratio of flowers to greenery. That was extremely helpful for me to catch her vision. I suggested a variety of flowers in her colors and came up with a design plan. The final design of her bouquet included: white hydrangea, light dusty pink Roses, white mini Ranunculus, darker dusty pink Peonies, white Sophia Roses, white filler seeds, willow and silver dollar Eucalyptus.

The bridesmaids carried loose handtied style bouquets with the same mix of flowers and greenery.

I cannot recommend Erin enough!! Her professionalism, knowledge, and kindness made the process of designing the bouquets so easy. I sent Erin a Pinterest picture of what I had envisioned, and she provided me with flower and color options to make sure I got the bouquet of my dreams. Her timeline was spot on, coming in plenty of time ahead, allowing me to not stress about flowers! I received SO many compliments on them. And, they photograph so well. They look SO real! I now have a beautiful keepsake to remind me of our special day.
— Alycia | Maine

Those dusty pinks really popped against the blue dresses and navy suits!

Customer Review of Custom Silk Wedding Flowers

A few weeks ago, I shared Brandi and Troy’s stunning red, peach, pink and white custom silk wedding flowers. Brandi was the sweetest bride to work with, and she’s also an amazing performer busy in a show right now. But she took the time to write up a testimonial about her experience working with me. Once again, amazing photos by the amazing Jennifer Juniper Photography.

custom-silk-wedding-flowers-red-bridal-bouquet-altar-arrangements-boutonniere
My husband and I got married in January, and wanted something special and unique for our flowers. Had we chosen to use real flowers, we would have been out thousands of dollars. I decided to search instead for someone using silk flowers who could make our wishes come true at a fraction of the price (and so we can also put them on display in our house afterwards).

I found Erin, and she was immediately so responsive, and while other floral designers shied away from the vibrance and lack of greenery we wanted, Erin was excited to do something different. In the beginning, she sent us an email with tons of flowers and colors that we could pick from, and saw our vision immediately.

We ordered my bouquet, two separate pieces to flank the archways, table decorations, and boutonnieres and corsages for our family, as well as flowers for our cake. We found the exact pieces we wanted to put the flowers in / on, and sent the pictures through to her. What she created was incomparable and totally better than what we were dreaming of.

As the process continued, she communicated often and sent pictures so we could see the progress and make any changes we thought necessary. Shipping came with insurance and a tracking number. Please just see the pictures, because my words cannot describe how beautiful they came out. I recommend her to literally EVERYONE I know who is getting married. This was a wonderful experience, and my husband and I both feel so grateful to have found and worked with her to help make our wedding day the most beautiful day of our lives.

Fall Silk Wedding Flowers with Navy-Reveal

Navy has been a hot color for the last few years, and it’s been a fun addition to custom silk wedding flowers in all seasons! Today’s wedding features navy with some more traditional fall colors-burgundy and gold. Sheldynn’s fall silk wedding flowers were a vibrant mix of colors, a variety of textures and shapes, but overall a really classic look. Let’s take a look at the photos from their talented photographers The Grotheers.

Here’s our happy couple! Sheldynn’s modified cascade bridal bouquet was a mix of Sunflowers, burgundy Peonies, Dahlia and Roses, navy Delphinium and Berries, white Heather and Baby’s Breath, burgundy Amaranthus and Lamb’s Ear and Ruscus for a pop of green. The groom’s boutonniere was a single burgundy Rose bud with Baby’s Breath, berries and Lamb’s Ear.

The bridesmaids were wearing these gorgeous halter dresses that were the perfect complement to the Peonies. Not to mention, they made all the other colors really stand out! Their bouquets were round handtied style with the same mix of flowers and greenery, including that touch of Amaranthus for a unique addition to their bouquets.

Such a classy looking group!

Red, Peach, Pink and White Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal

I have been WAITING for this day to share Brandi and Troy’s STUNNING red, peach, pink and white silk wedding flowers. There is a touch of everything in these wedding florals including tropical, romantic, lush, and even a little art deco. AND WAIT TIL YOU SEE THEIR CAKE! Have I communicated my excitement enough yet? Thanks to Jennifer Juniper Photography for telling the story of Brandi and Troy’s wedding day so well!

Here’s our happy couple! They wanted everything to be packed with meaning for their big day, so I wanted to make sure the flowers were on par with everything else. Brandi’s modified cascade bouquet was a mix of peach cabbage roses, off white orchids, deep red ranunculus, peach ranunculus, red poppy, burgundy roses, red Freesia, burgundy Dahlia, bright pink roses, salmon ranunculus and rose pink Ranunculus.

What I enjoyed about looking through all these images is that everyone’s personality is so evident! They not only took into account their own personalities, but the personalities of their friends and family.

Their wedding took place at the Maitland Art Center and the setting was not only unique but just breathtakingly gorgeous. The pieces I created for the ceremony and reception sites needed to match the grandeur, and the style of our couple. Let’s take a look!

I created custom altar arrangements that incorporate a lot of the same flowers as the bridal bouquet, but in pieces that added some drama and color to the back drop.

Next up is the cake! Brandi sent me an inspiration photo and wanted two custom pieces to drape up and down the layers.

With such a beautiful venue, smaller centerpieces was the perfect choice! I made a few different types and Brandi had containers already picked out and ready to go. I made the centerpieces “bouquet” style, meaning they were ready to just drop in the vases!

Here’s a few more photos of our awesome couple!

Brandi shared this awesome video of Troy’s band, The Edge Effect, singing during the ceremony.

Lush Neutral Silk Wedding Flowers Part 1 - Reveal

A few years ago, I designed custom silk wedding flowers for Minnesota bride, Peyton. When her sister’s, Alexis’, Bridal Checklist showed up in my inbox, I was flattered and excited. Now after working with both of them, I can say with confidence that both these lovely ladies have impeccable style with their romantic and lush florals. But today, I’m SO excited to share Alexis’ custom silk wedding flowers with you! Her neutral color palette, variety of textures and the drama makes you want to keep scrolling to see more. Let’s take a look at the amazing images from Marissa Murdy Studio.

Starting off with a bang! Alexis’ bouquet was a breathtaking mix of White Cosmos, Champagne Roses, White Sophia Roses, Taupe Baby’s Breath, white Eucalyptus, white mini Ruscus, and faux Pampas grass in a Modified Cascade style bridal bouquet. We originally had incorporated some brown and orange Eucalyptus but when it came together, Alexis wasn’t feeling it so she requested a change to more whites and taupes. I’m glad she went with her gut, but it is just perfect!

The bridesmaids wore shades of Terra Cotta and with the sheen of their dresses, you can see why taking out the brown/orange Eucalyptus was a good choice. Their bouquets incorporated the same mix of flowers as the bridal bouquet, but in a loose, round handtied style. The simple color scheme allowed their outfits to be the feature, but the texture really made the bouquets pop!

The guys all wore a champagne Rose, with baby’s breath with the groom’s being a little more substantial. These guys looked dapper!

Here’s the whole bridal party- such a great looking crew!

The mothers wore pin on style corsages with a champagne Rose, taupe Baby’s Breath, white mini Ruscus and a small spray of rhinestones with the ribbon. The dads wore Comos and Baby’s Breath for a cohesive look that stood out from the bridal party boutonnieres.

Don’t go anywhere, because later this week I’m going to share with you photos from the ceremony and reception and you won’t want to miss it!

Wine, Black and White Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Last week, I showed you Kasey’s lovely winter wedding flowers, and today, I wanted to show you how I can easily take a similar color scheme but give a very different look. Sydney’s custom silk wedding flowers incorporated almost the same color scheme as Kasey’s but as you’ll see had a style all their own. Let’s take a look at these awesome photos by Stephanie Lane Photo.

Sydney’s bridal bouquet was a dramatic modified cascade style with a mix of wine Roses, Zinnia and Dahlia, white Cosmos, Ranunculus and Anemone, Silver Dollar and Seeded Eucalyptus and trailing burgundy Amaranthus to add the cascading effect. You can see what a great mix of textures and shades of wine and burgundy made it into her bouquet and we even got a touch of black with the centers of the Anemone.

The bridesmaids carried loose handtied style bouquets with Zinnia, Dahlia, Amaranthus and a rose in burgundy, Anemone and Ranunculus in white and the same greenery as the bridal bouquet. Let’s take one more minute to appreciate Sydey’s stunning dress and then we can appreciate why it needed a bridal bouquet to match that high fashion!

Our flowers were BEAUTIFUL! Exactly what I asked for (truly even better than what I imagined)! Looked so real and arranged in such a nice way :) Erin was on top of getting the flowers to us, and was very detailed in her work with us- checking in to see if her plans for the flowers fit what we wanted. Really awesome experience! Would recommend!

Bright Beach Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Charlee reached out to me for help when the original silk bridal bouquet she ordered from a different florist didn’t live up to her expectations. While there were some elements of her purchase that she liked, it pretty much needed to be remade. I started sending her options of what I could add to it and how I could reshape it to bring her vision to life. What we ended up designing together is a stunner of a bouquet for her tropical wedding last year. Let’s take a look at the photos by Silverfox Studios of New York.

Charlee’s bouquet needed to stand out on such a big and beautiful back drop. Her modified cascade bridal bouquet was a mix of blue Hydrangea, orange Hibiscus and Orchids, flame Succulents, pink Peonies, green Hydrangea, Gloriosa lilies, yellow Roses, Cymbidium orchids, red and green Anthurium and a whole bunch of tropical foliage. She loved the idea of trailing ribbon, so we finished off the bouquet with a ribbon wrap and tails.

Thanks for my amazing wedding bouquet; so pretty and bright, exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for making the time to re-do my original bouquet that I had made. You made my day very happy once I received what I imagined it to look like : ) The guests all loved my bouquet and commented that it was very beautiful, unique and stunning.
— Charlee | New York

Charlee had ordered bridesmaid bouquets prior to working with me and I loved how she had chosen to go simple with white flowers and greenery so that their varying shades of dress colors would stand out.

She also sent me this photo of how she displays her bouquet at home. I love the branch full of shells and beach glass to go with it!

Black and Burgundy Fall Silk Wedding Flowers- Reveal and Review

Back in November, I shared a stunning black, red and burgundy wedding. Today, I get to share another eye catching combo of black and burgundy that features another black wedding dress! Let’s take a look at Carlie’s unique and stunning wedding! Photos are by Alexis Ziemski you can find her on Instagram @lenscapkid.

With a dress like this, the flowers need to add, not take away from it. Carlie’s bouquet was a modified cascade style of burgundy Roses, black Roses, black Baby's Breath, burgundy and white Callas, black Eucalyptus and satin ribbon.

The bridesmaids wore burgundy which was a great match to the roses. Their bouquets were round handtied style with the same mix of flowers and “greenery.”

I worked with Erin for my wedding bouquets and they turned out perfect! Erin was absolutely wonderful through out the entire process!
