Sunflower Spotlight - Happy Thanksgiving!

It’s Thanksgiving week, and I thought it would be fun to spotlight Sunflowers! They are often a popular flower choice for fall arrangements because of their sunny color and how well they fit in with all the jewel tones. They’re also typically associated with fall (navy, burgundy, orange, emerald). If you love Sunflowers, custom silk wedding flowers are a great option to have since fresh Sunflowers are huge and not always in season. Let’s take a look at some bridal bouquets and matching bridesmaid bouquets to see a variety of ways that Sunflowers can be incorporated into different styles of bouquets.

I love this first look! It’s classic and classy with Sunflowers, white Roses, Baby’s Breath, a touch of black Skimmia Berries, mini Eucalyptus and Silver Dollar Eucalyptus in round handtied style bouquets. We simplified the bridesmaid bouquets to only include Sunflowers and Baby’s Breath, but you can see how well it matches the bridal bouquet without being identical.

The texture in these next bouquets are pretty awesome! There is lots of color and variety in this modified cascade style silk bridal bouquet. It includes Sunflowers, burgundy Roses and Dahlia, red Peonies, dusty blue Delphinium, Baby’s Breath, white Heather, burgundy Lamb’s Ear, Blueberries, burgundy Amaranthus, and Ruscus. This has a very classic fall vibe without having too much of the harvest fest feel.

Here’s another modified cascade style silk bridal bouquet that incorporates Sunflowers, but for a very different feel! It has a some brighter tones that really allow the Sunflowers to pop! This custom silk bridal bouquet included dusty rose Cabbage Roses, white Garden Roses, blue Delphinium, Baby’s Breath, Fern, and Eucalyptus. It’s bright and playful but could work for a spring, summer or fall wedding! The smaller matching bouquet is actually the toss bouquet that incorporated the same mix of flowers as the bridal bouquet in clutch size. I added some ribbon tails for style as it got thrown to the waiting ladies.

The last set of custom silk flower arrangements has a moodier vibe with darker tones but touches of brightness. The bridal bouquet was a teardrop cascade style with burgundy Roses and Dahlia, white Garden Roses, Sunflowers with burgundy centers, Baby’s Breath, white Heather, Silver Dollar Eucalyptus, Seeded Eucalyptus and sage mini Ruscus. The bridesmaid bouquet used the same mix of flowers but in a handtied style with lots of greenery.

Cascading Round Handtied Bouquet Recreation - Reveal and Review

Today’s bouquet recreation is a dramatic round handtied bouquet with draping Amaranthus! What a beauty! Laura sent me some photos of her beautiful bouquet in shades of red and burgundy and nude pink, and I was able to examine each photo for all the elements that needed to show up in her recreation. Let’s take a look at the recreation alongside some photos by Denis Gostev Photography.

Laura sent me the write up from her florist that listed red Mums, dark red Roses, burgundy Snapdragon, burgundy Amaranthus, champagne Sahara Roses, seeded Eucalyptus and gold painted Hypericum Berries. It was such a beautiful bouquet, full of drama and texture and richness!

Such an amazing service! Erin did an amazing job at flawlessly replicating my wedding bouquet with silk flowers. She was very easy to work with as well. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to re-experience the joy of their wedding bouquet!

Fall Silk Wedding Flowers with Navy-Reveal

Navy has been a hot color for the last few years, and it’s been a fun addition to custom silk wedding flowers in all seasons! Today’s wedding features navy with some more traditional fall colors-burgundy and gold. Sheldynn’s fall silk wedding flowers were a vibrant mix of colors, a variety of textures and shapes, but overall a really classic look. Let’s take a look at the photos from their talented photographers The Grotheers.

Here’s our happy couple! Sheldynn’s modified cascade bridal bouquet was a mix of Sunflowers, burgundy Peonies, Dahlia and Roses, navy Delphinium and Berries, white Heather and Baby’s Breath, burgundy Amaranthus and Lamb’s Ear and Ruscus for a pop of green. The groom’s boutonniere was a single burgundy Rose bud with Baby’s Breath, berries and Lamb’s Ear.

The bridesmaids were wearing these gorgeous halter dresses that were the perfect complement to the Peonies. Not to mention, they made all the other colors really stand out! Their bouquets were round handtied style with the same mix of flowers and greenery, including that touch of Amaranthus for a unique addition to their bouquets.

Wine, Black and White Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Last week, I showed you Kasey’s lovely winter wedding flowers, and today, I wanted to show you how I can easily take a similar color scheme but give a very different look. Sydney’s custom silk wedding flowers incorporated almost the same color scheme as Kasey’s but as you’ll see had a style all their own. Let’s take a look at these awesome photos by Stephanie Lane Photo.

Sydney’s bridal bouquet was a dramatic modified cascade style with a mix of wine Roses, Zinnia and Dahlia, white Cosmos, Ranunculus and Anemone, Silver Dollar and Seeded Eucalyptus and trailing burgundy Amaranthus to add the cascading effect. You can see what a great mix of textures and shades of wine and burgundy made it into her bouquet and we even got a touch of black with the centers of the Anemone.

The bridesmaids carried loose handtied style bouquets with Zinnia, Dahlia, Amaranthus and a rose in burgundy, Anemone and Ranunculus in white and the same greenery as the bridal bouquet. Let’s take one more minute to appreciate Sydey’s stunning dress and then we can appreciate why it needed a bridal bouquet to match that high fashion!

Our flowers were BEAUTIFUL! Exactly what I asked for (truly even better than what I imagined)! Looked so real and arranged in such a nice way :) Erin was on top of getting the flowers to us, and was very detailed in her work with us- checking in to see if her plans for the flowers fit what we wanted. Really awesome experience! Would recommend!

Destination Wedding- Tropical Silk Bouquet in Soft Tones

I’ve done a few tropical weddings with silk flowers that have been more out of the box (remember Candace?) and I gotta say, I love doing it! This bridal bouquet needed to be soft, romantic, textural, but appropriate for a destination beach wedding. Take a look and let me know what you think!

Her bouquet was a mix of peonies in ivory, Scabiosa pods, green Amaranthus, fern, ivory Spray Roses, white mini Fern, grasses, blush seeds, Orchid buds, twigs and finished off with Chardonnay satin ribbon. This modified cascade style bouquet is a more modern take on a tropical bouquet but with all the interest that comes along with traditionally tropical flowers. Sure, we don’t have the fuchsia orchids or big leafy greens, but this bouquet certainly belongs on the beach!

Last Minute Elopement Bridal Bouquet and Groom's Boutonniere

Katelyn contacted me in a flurry of changed plans and needing immediate help. Because of COVID they had made the hard decision to postpone their wedding until 2021, but then decided to elope for a destination wedding to the mountains of Washington last minute. She needed a custom bridal bouquet in silk wedding flowers with a matching groom’s boutonniere with less than two weeks until the elopement date. I came up with a design lickety-split and here’s the final product!

The bridal bouquet was an offset modified cascade design. The main color was burgundy, so I added some Button mums and Amaranthus to ivory Roses and a variety of greenery including Seeded Eucalyptus, Lamb’s ear, Hydrangea buds, Eucalyptus and some other more delicate greenery. The groom’s boutonniere was an ivory Rose bud, Button Mum bud and mixed greens tied off with the same Antique White ribbon on the bridal bouquet.

Burgundy and Blush Centerpieces and Silk Wedding Flowers

Here’s another great example of burgundy and blush silk wedding flowers. And if you check back later this week, you’ll get to see these babies in action!

Samantha really loved the Amaranthus seen in some of my other weddings so we found a great way to work it into not only her bridal bouquet, but the centerpieces for her reception. Amaranthus is really quite a statement “flower” and is so unique because of the shape and the texture. It’s the perfect addition to a modified cascading bridal bouquet like Samantha’s.

Roses, Dahlia, Amaranthus, Cherry Blossom, Lamb’s Ear, Seeded Eucalyptus

For the centerpieces, I designed two different styles. Both included ivory and blush roses, seeded Eucalyptus, dyed Pine Branch and Amaranthus. One style had ivory Amaranthus like the photo below and the other had burgundy Amaranthus. They sat very regally atop Eiffel Tower Vases at a height that made ya look, but didn’t get in the way of guests conversing across the tables.

The bridesmaids carried bouquets with the same flowers, minus the Amaranthus in loose, handtied styles. One thing to be aware of when you choose asymmetrical and looser style bouquets is that each one will be slightly different. Part of that is because they are handmade, and part of that is because some flowers will lay a little differently when spread out from the rest.

Later this week, I’ve got photos from Samantha and her talented photographer to share with you. What are you thinking of this modified cascade style bridal bouquet? If you think it would be a good fit for you, contact me today to see if it will fit with your style!

Custom Over-sized Centerpiece Silk Wedding Flowers for Minneapolis Golf Club

I recently had the opportunity to create an awesomely oversized custom centerpiece for the Minneapolis Golf Club made from silk wedding flowers. They were looking to have a versatile piece to grace their cocktail and hors d’oeuvres area that was neutral enough to work with any season. But neutral doesn’t mean uninteresting!

This baby is a showstopper at just about 4 feet tall and 3 feet wide. I arranged a variety of white and ivory flowers: Ranunculus, Roses, Phalaenopsis Orchids, Hydrangea, Dogwood, and Cherry Blossoms. There was also just a hint of blush pink from the Cherry Blossoms that gave it a softer touch. They wanted some interesting elements that would add some texture so I added in cream Amaranthus, some dusty Greenery and Willow Branches.

Take a look at this beautiful custom centerpiece in it’s new home.

Burgundy Cascade Silk Wedding Flower Review

After posting Janelle’s amazing raspberry and blush silk wedding flowers, the requests have poured in for quotes for similar style bouquets and color combinations. I love hearing from all of you who are looking for unique takes on burgundy flowers, modified cascade bouquets and how to add interesting texture to your custom silk wedding flowers.

For those of you checking me out for the first time, I wanted to share the photos Janelle sent me from her wedding day. She looks stunning, as do her bridesmaids! And I gotta say, her flowers looked great in front of the camera too. So if you’ve been wondering how silk wedding flowers compare to fresh, here’s a great look at how versatile and realistic they actually are.

These beautiful images were taken by Empiria Studios right here in Minneapolis. Check them out if you are looking for a great local photographer.

These ladies were brave for these photos, but these shots were worth some shivers!

Janelle came to me during the design process with an idea for her centerpieces. She was planning to do chargers with candles and wanted some matching greens and roses for each table. I used some of the same seeded Eucalyptus branches from the bouquets and bundled them up with some of the roses so that whoever her decorator was could just grab a bundle and arrange each table. This was a great, budget-friendly option that also fit well with Janelle’s overall style and theme.

Love is Blooming was fantastic to work with!! My flowers were so beautiful and Erin was so great to work with. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for beautiful flowers on their big day!

Raspberry and Blush Silk Wedding Flowers

Janelle’s dreamy color scheme was so fun to work with! With a wine/raspberry as her main color and blush and rosegold accents, I felt like I had endless possibilities of what to include in her silk wedding flower bouquets.

What we settled on was Dahlia, Roses, Mums, and Peonies with some burgundy Lamb’s Ear and Seeded Eucalyptus. The bridal bouquet also included raspberry Amaranthus for a dramatic edge.

The bridesmaid bouquets were a perfect complement to the bridal bouquet.

Here’s a quick peak at some of the boutonnieres and corsages to coordinate with the bouquets.

I can’t help it, here’s one more of the bridal and bridesmaid bouquet. I’m kind of in love with this modified cascade, it’s modern and eye catching without being too over the top.

Looking for a modern twist on a classic style, silk flowers offer you the ability to see it before your big day. So no surprises when it’s too late to change anything! We can tweak it until it‘s just right without risking the beauty of the flowers.
