50th Anniversary Recreation - Reveal

It is such a compliment when former clients come back for more custom silk flower arrangements for big moments in their lives. Ten years ago, I shared a blog post of Elizabeth’s custom silk wedding flowers that included custom boutonnieres in shotgun shells. I have known her family since I was a middle schooler and been friends with her older sister since then. I even created her older sister’s custom silk wedding flowers and featured her pomander aisle arrangements in a very early blog post. It was really fun to receive a message from Elizabeth looking for some special arrangements for her parent’s upcoming 50th anniversary celebration. Initially, she was thinking some table decorations with Edelweiss for dinner at the German restaurant they would be dining it. After talking a little more, I suggested recreating her parents wedding flowers and she loved the idea. Let’s take a look at the custom bridal bouquet recreation in silk flowers with photos of the original bouquet!

Daisies were a big thing in the 70’s, so I wasn’t surprised to see Daisies being featured in her mom’s bouquet. This cascading bridal bouquet was a mix of Daisies, white Carnations, Baby’s Breath, Lamb’s Ear and Pittosporum. Her dad wore a boutonniere that appeared to be a white Carnation with a small pinks pray rose in the middle. Elizabeth mentioned that she didn’t think pink was his thing and wanted me to create a custom boutonniere that matched the bouquet.

I incorporated the main flowers from the bridal bouquet for a complementary look.

And here’s what I love about getting to create custom arrangements for my clients! Elizabeth had found these Grape Soda pins, that you might remember from the movie Up. She wanted this special little nod to their enduring love to be included in both arrangements. Just so sweet!

Daughter's Gift Bouquet Recreation - Reveal and Review

As I mentioned in last week’s post, destination weddings often require you to leave your beautiful bouquet behind. Linda reached out to me for that very reason. Her daughter had been married in the Bahamas this spring and was not allowed to bring her bouquet home with her. She wanted to gift her a custom bridal bouquet recreation in silk flowers so she would have something to enjoy at home. Let’s take a look at the original alongside the recreation!

Her daughter’s bouquet was a mix of Orchids, Peonies, Calla Lilies, Anthurium, Fern, Palm Leaves and Monstera. The original bouquet had red Anthurium, but her daughter had wanted them to be pink. I was able to customize the bouquet for her to include pink Anthurium.

Hawaiian Bouquet Recreation - Reveal and Review

While we aren’t into the cold months of winter here in Minnesota, I wanted to share something to warm us up today! Tropical weddings are super popular in the winter months, and often times, if it’s a destination wedding, there is no option to bring your bouquet back home with you to enjoy. The good news is that you can have a custom bridal bouquet recreation made with high quality silk flowers so you can enjoy it forever! Let’s take a look at the original bouquet, designed and created by Kealoha Flowers and photographed by Julia Streich Photography.

One thing to work around with recreations is the editing that can be done on photos. As you can see from the above photos, there are some filters that affect the color. See the photo below for a more accurate example of the colors in the bouquet.

Her round, handtied bouquet was composed of: Ranunculus, King Protea, Ginger, Peony, Phalaenopsis Orchids, Spray Roses, Anthurium, Dusty Miller, Fern, Eucalyptus, Seedum and one show stopping Dracaena. I love the texture and colors!

Adjusting a Bouquet Recreation - Reveal and Review

Bouquet recreations usually end up being a bit of a creative adventure for me. Today’s bouquet is a great example of that. Griselda reached out to me about her bouquet which was a beautiful combination of white and coral flowers…or were they purple…maybe pink? She had sent me a variety of photos, some from her beautiful professional photos with edited colors, some without, and then an edited photo that she felt best represented the actual colors of the bouquet. I’ve included some of those today so you can see how sometimes the photos need some deciphering. Let’s take a look at her beautiful bouquet created by Flower Creations by Reydon Laparan on Facebook and photographed by Douie Figuracion Photography on Facebook alongside the bouquet recreation that we made a few adjustments to.

Griselda had a great record of what was used in her bouquet and was able to send me the exact components: white Statice, Limonium, white and pink Lisianthus and Orange Jasmine greenery. One adjustment we made right away was to reduce the overall size for shipping purposes. Secondly, I wasn’t able to find a Limonium in silk flowers, but I did find a lavender Statice that Griselda was happy with. Despite looking far and wide, sometimes I can’t find exactly what was used in the original bouquet and in those instances, you get to decide if you are ok with that or not. Sometimes, the switch keeps the overall look intact without it being exact. Other times it’s a compromise and isn’t what the client is happy with. And as I say, frequently, that’s the great thing about silk flowers. I can show you ahead of time exactly what I’m using so there are no surprises with your finished product.

These next comparison photos show why working together on your bouquet recreation is super important. I absolutely love the editing done to Griselda’s wedding photo and wish my 2004 wedding photos had some of this creativity. But you can see the difference in colors and why it took some discussion to find the right color Lisianthus.

Lavender and White Bouquet Recreation - Reveal and Review

Today’s custom bridal bouquet recreation in silk flowers is lush and lovely lavender and white bouquet. I love it because the greenery plays a starring role in the design, but there are also some really classic white flowers and a touch of lavender. It’s a unique bouquet and it made for the perfect anniversary gift! When you know the details: Bouquet Recreation - Reveal and Review

Most of the recreations that I create only have pictures for me to examine, and some come with an invoice or description from the florist. While that might seem like a winning combination, it’s not always helpful because fresh florists often make last minute substitutions based on availability, quality and cost. I know I’ve said it a lot on my blog, but one of the best things about custom silk wedding flowers is that you will know exactly what you are getting for your big day. There are never last minute substitutions or surprises.

Mychal reached out to me about a bouquet recreation for his April anniversary and sent me several photos of the bouquet along with list of what was in the bouquet. After comparing the photos to the list, it was a one of the closest matches I’ve seen yet! Let’s take a look at Mychal’s custom bridal bouquet recreation in silk flowers alongside the original in these photos from Jessica Wall Photography.

According to Mychal’s list this round handtied bridal bouquet was a mixture of Sandstone Roses, blush pink Roses, cream Mums, white Carnations, blue Hydrangea, blue Delphinium and blush pink Spray Roses. I also noticed white Baby’s Breath and Eucalyptus which Mychal agreed needed to be included to complete the look. It’s always helpful to have a few sets of eyes to look for all the different components.

Whether I get high resolution photos, screen shots or scanned images from old photos, I do my absolute best to recreate the bouquet as close to the original as possible.

White and Blush Bridal Bouquet Recreation - Reveal and Review

Zach’s April wedding anniversary was the perfect opportunity for him to gift his wife a custom bridal bouquet recreation in silk flowers. He sent me a few images of the bouquet and I got to work tracking down the perfect flowers to recreate her lovely bouquet. Let’s take a look at the bridal bouquet recreation alongside the original bouquet in photos from Jasmine Baetzel Weddings.

This beautiful bouquet was a mixture of white Garden Roses and white and blush Cabbage Roses with Ruscus. It was simple, it romantic and I loved that it wasn’t a traditional round ball shape. The elongated shape made it unique while still being a very classic look.

I could see from the photos that the original bouquet had the floral tape still showing with just a small band of ribbon with a small loop and tails. I suggested that we use a green satin ribbon to duplicate the style but give it a more polished look.

White and Blue Bouquet Recreation - Reveal

Jay reached out to me for a bridal bouquet recreation in silk wedding flowers for his anniversary and Christmas gift. He sent me some awesome photos of the original bouquet along with a write-up from the florist (bonus points for that!) which helped me determine what actually appeared in the bouquet. They had made some changes to the original suggestions, which is the case with most fresh flower bridal bouquets. What was actually in it was a little different than what the florist had proposed, so having the list and the photos was super helpful!

One of the many perks of my job is getting to see some lovely tropical wedding photos! Sonya sent me a few photos of her awesome tropical bouquet from their elopement to the Virgin Islands. She wasn’t able to bring the bouquet back with her and wanted to have a permanent reminder of their special day, so we worked together to make sure her bouquet was recreated as accurately as possible. The original bouquet was a round, handtied style with pink Dahlia, nude/champagne Dahlia, white Dahlia, white Ranunculus, peach Cabbage Roses, Succulents, pink Astilbe, Waxflower, Silver Dollar Eucalyptus and pink Succulent flowers. It was bright and whimsical and full of texture!

Magnolia Bridal Bouquet Recreation - Reveal

Today’s custom bridal bouquet recreation in silk flowers is a unique style and shape. It incorporates Magnolia which is a less commonly used wedding flower as well as some gold Ruscus. It’s beautiful, timeless and unique, and I loved working to recreate this look! Ben ordered it for his wife and sent over some photos of the bouquet for me to work with. Let’s take a look!

This cascading style bouquet was a mix of white Garden, Cabbage and Spray Roses, white Magnolia, Eucalyptus Seeds, Green Hydrangea, white Lisianthus, Ruscus and gold painted Ruscus.

You can see the ribbon detail on the photo to the right. The bouquet was wrapped with a sheer white ribbon with a bow and some ribbon tails. It’s important to me to duplicate even those small touches whenever I can!

I have a really pretty coral and white bridal bouquet recreation in silk flowers to show you today! It’s the perfect bouquet for this lovely spring we are finally experiencing! Keign reached out to me about recreating his wife’s bouquet and was hoping to surprise her with this meaningful gift. This stunning bouquet was a mix of coral and white Ranunculus, white Cosmos, white Spray Roses, coral Cabbage Roses and a touch of Ruscus. I loved the unique shape of this bouquet! It was handtied style but a more linear shape than the more traditional round shape. It was finished up with a raw edge silk ribbon in a lovely peachy-pink color.

Calla Lily and Greenery Bouquet Recreation - Reveal and Review

I love today’s bouquet! It’s a classic style with a twist because it isn’t as buttoned up as I usually see Calla Lily bouquets. It’s a little wild, lush, and would look great in any wedding venue. Amanda reached out to me about her daughter-in-law’s bouquet, and I was excited to work with her to get it just right! This handtied style bridal bouquet is a mix of large white Calla Lilies, Eucalyptus and Ficus with a touch of twine wrapped around the stems. Custom Bouquet & Boutonniere Recreation - Reveal and Review

We are in the thick of fall here in Minnesota (and unfortunately, we’ve had our first snow fall already), so today’s custom bridal bouquet recreation and custom boutonniere recreation is a perfect share on a day like today! Laura actually found me by asking Copilot, an AI powered assistant. That’s a first for me, but I’m happy however you might find me! She sent me some lovely shots by the very talented Jessica Yurko Photography and was hoping to have them done in time for her upcoming October anniversary. Let’s take a look at the arrangements!

Laura’s bridal bouquet was a handtied style with burgundy Garden and Spray Roses, Sunflowers, burgundy Calla Lilies, Billy Buttons, burgundy Mums, Queen Anne’s Lace, yellow Statice, Hypericum Berries, Pittosporum, Agonis, and some small filler greenery and seeds. I just love the rich colors and interesting textures that her florist combined!

The groom’s boutonniere was a single white Calla Lily, Hypericum Berries, yellow Statice, white Baby’s Breath, Agonis and some greenery wrapped with twine.

She worked from oddly angled photos and beautifully stylized photography, since it was three years later. “I sent Erin a few pictures of my wife’s wedding bouquet to make a replica and she absolutely nailed it! She kept me updated on the process and asked to see other pictures if she was not 100% sure. She really worked with me, since I know nothing about flowers, and was able to recreate it just from the pictures. My wife loved it! I let her open it out of the box because I was excited to give it to her and she was very surprised. She had to look at pictures to compare because it looked exactly the same as her wedding bouquet. Today’s custom bridal bouquet recreation reveal features some spring-y, bright, happy, colorful flowers! John reached out to me about recreating his wife’s round style bridal bouquet. It was a beautiful mix of yellow Lilies, orange Alstroemeria, pink Snapdragons, white Stephanotis, white Hydrangea, magenta Peonies, and green Hypericum Berries. Purple and White Bridal Bouquet Recreation - Reveal and Review

I LOVE this purple and white bridal bouquet recreation that I recently made for Daniel to gift his lovely wife for their anniversary! He was able to send me some photos of the bouquet, taken by DC productions ATX. Let’s take a look at what made up this stunner of a bouquet!

This handtied bouquet was a mix of deep purple Hydrangea and Lisianthus, lavender and plum Delphinium, white Baby’s Breath and Ranunculus, Lavender sprigs and lots of Silver Dollar Eucalyptus. The variety of purples in this bouquet added depth and the different shapes and textures of the flowers made this such an interesting bouquet. Then you add in greenery and you have very lively bouquet!
