Summer Blogging Break!

We’re part way through June, my kids have been out of school for a few weeks and we’ve already got one of our summer trips under our belts. But there is still plenty of summer for me to enjoy with my family and that means it’s time for a summer blogging break! I’ll still be working away at my order for summer and fall and I might pop in with a few blog updates here and there, but I’m looking forward to sharing more reveals with you when I’m back in September! Here are a few snapshots of bouquets I’ve done this year that haven’t yet made the blog. Consider this a custom silk wedding flower sneak peak. Happy Summer to you!

Adjusting a Bouquet Recreation - Reveal and Review

Bouquet recreations usually end up being a bit of a creative adventure for me. Today’s bouquet is a great example of that. Griselda reached out to me about her bouquet which was a beautiful combination of white and coral flowers…or were they purple…maybe pink? She had sent me a variety of photos, some from her beautiful professional photos with edited colors, some without, and then an edited photo that she felt best represented the actual colors of the bouquet. I’ve included some of those today so you can see how sometimes the photos need some deciphering. Let’s take a look at her beautiful bouquet created by Flower Creations by Reydon Laparan on Facebook and photographed by Douie Figuracion Photography on Facebook alongside the bouquet recreation that we made a few adjustments to.

Griselda had a great record of what was used in her bouquet and was able to send me the exact components: white Statice, Limonium, white and pink Lisianthus and Orange Jasmine greenery. One adjustment we made right away was to reduce the overall size for shipping purposes. Secondly, I wasn’t able to find a Limonium in silk flowers, but I did find a lavender Statice that Griselda was happy with. Despite looking far and wide, sometimes I can’t find exactly what was used in the original bouquet and in those instances, you get to decide if you are ok with that or not. Sometimes, the switch keeps the overall look intact without it being exact. Other times it’s a compromise and isn’t what the client is happy with. And as I say, frequently, that’s the great thing about silk flowers. I can show you ahead of time exactly what I’m using so there are no surprises with your finished product.

These next comparison photos show why working together on your bouquet recreation is super important. I absolutely love the editing done to Griselda’s wedding photo and wish my 2004 wedding photos had some of this creativity. But you can see the difference in colors and why it took some discussion to find the right color Lisianthus.

Lavender and White Bridal Bouquet Recreation - Reveal and Review

Pretty often I hear stories of bouquet preservations gone wrong. Stephanie reached out to me about her stunning bouquet that met that very fate after her COVID wedding. I was excited to be able to bring it back to life with high quality silk flowers. Her custom bridal bouquet recreation turned out beautifully and even better is the fact that she now gets a special piece of her wedding day to remember forever! And now for my favorite part, let’s take a look at her recreation alongside her original bouquet by her florist Lace and Peonies and photographed by The Ruby Company.

Stephanie’s bouquet was a mix of Anemone, white Peonies, purple Lisianthus, lavender Freesia, lavender Roses, Mums and Pittosporrum. I couldn’t find an exact match for the mums and she suggested Dahlia, so we made that switch. As you can tell from the photo she sent, it doesn’t change the overall look or feel of the bouquet. Dahlias and mums are pretty similar shape, so it was a great suggestion and one that she was happy with!

I really love the vibe of this bouquet! It has some classic flowers, varying shades of purple, lots of texture and I love the contrast of the black center of the Anemone and the collar of greenery.

Lavender and White Bouquet Recreation - Reveal and Review

Today’s custom bridal bouquet recreation in silk flowers is lush and lovely lavender and white bouquet. I love it because the greenery plays a starring role in the design, but there are also some really classic white flowers and a touch of lavender. It’s a unique bouquet and it made for the perfect anniversary gift! Let’s take a look a the recreation alongside the original, shown in photographs by Solaris Photo and Film (find them on Instagram @solarisphotofilm).

Nick wanted to surprise his wife for the anniversary and he was able to help me with some high resolution photographs from a few angles. It allowed me to see all of the flowers and greenery that made up this beautiful bridal bouquet. You can see the dusty lavender Roses, white Camellia, Waxflower, white Spray Roses, Lisianthus and two varieties of Eucalyptus.

When you know the details: Bouquet Recreation - Reveal and Review

Most of the recreations that I create only have pictures for me to examine, and some come with an invoice or description from the florist. While that might seem like a winning combination, it’s not always helpful because fresh florists often make last minute substitutions based on availability, quality and cost. I know I’ve said it a lot on my blog, but one of the best things about custom silk wedding flowers is that you will know exactly what you are getting for your big day. There are never last minute substitutions or surprises.

Mychal reached out to me about a bouquet recreation for his April anniversary and sent me several photos of the bouquet along with list of what was in the bouquet. After comparing the photos to the list, it was a one of the closest matches I’ve seen yet! Let’s take a look at Mychal’s custom bridal bouquet recreation in silk flowers alongside the original in these photos from Jessica Wall Photography.

According to Mychal’s list this round handtied bridal bouquet was a mixture of Sandstone Roses, blush pink Roses, cream Mums, white Carnations, blue Hydrangea, blue Delphinium and blush pink Spray Roses. I also noticed white Baby’s Breath and Eucalyptus which Mychal agreed needed to be included to complete the look. It’s always helpful to have a few sets of eyes to look for all the different components.

Whether I get high resolution photos, screen shots or scanned images from old photos, I do my absolute best to recreate the bouquet as close to the original as possible.

White and Blush Bridal Bouquet Recreation - Reveal and Review

Zach’s April wedding anniversary was the perfect opportunity for him to gift his wife a custom bridal bouquet recreation in silk flowers. He sent me a few images of the bouquet and I got to work tracking down the perfect flowers to recreate her lovely bouquet. Let’s take a look at the bridal bouquet recreation alongside the original bouquet in photos from Jasmine Baetzel Weddings.

This beautiful bouquet was a mixture of white Garden Roses and white and blush Cabbage Roses with Ruscus. It was simple, it romantic and I loved that it wasn’t a traditional round ball shape. The elongated shape made it unique while still being a very classic look.

I could see from the photos that the original bouquet had the floral tape still showing with just a small band of ribbon with a small loop and tails. I suggested that we use a green satin ribbon to duplicate the style but give it a more polished look.

Summer Wedding Flower Inspiration

While I absolutely love to share photos from clients’ wedding day, sometimes I don’t get that opportunity. But it would be such a waste to not share those pretty bouquet with you on my blog! So today, I decided that since we are heading towards summer, I would share some photos of finished arrangements that might inspire you for your summer wedding.

This bouquet is for an upcoming June wedding, but I just couldn’t wait to share it with you, so this is her big debut! This bouquet is packed full of color and texture and features: Roses, Poppies, Orchids, Delphinium, Astilbe and a whole bunch of greenery. I love the pop of yellow!

Speaking of yellow, you can’t go wrong with this color combination-yellow and blue! This combination of yellow Roses, blue Hydrangea, Daisies and white Baby’s Breath is a classic summer look!

If you have a tropical wedding, this one is for you! This awesome bouquet is a mix of pink Anthurium, Ginger and Roses with a collar of Monstera, Palm and Banana leaves. Makes me want to stroll down a beach!

I love that the wildflower look is growing in popularity. This vibrant bouquet mixes a ton of color and texture and keeps your eye moving all over the bouquet. Every time you look at it, you see something new!

Pink never gets old! Especially when you do a mixture of blush, coral, watermelon and white together. It elevates the look from a simple pink bouquet to a handful of bright and happy!

The last bouquet I wanted to show you is a great bouquet for either summer or fall. It combines some lighter colors along with more saturated tones to be a good mix for either season. It allows the sunflowers to look bright and summery as well as rich and moody.

Burgundy and Taupe Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal

I’m back with another version of Tiara’s famous bouquet! If you have no idea what I’m talking about, go check out this blog post from 4 years ago that featured a burgundy and taupe bridal bouquet in silk flowers that I have recreated for numerous more brides. It’s one of the biggest and baddest bouquets I’ve ever created and clearly has inspired more brides in their search for a showstopping bridal bouquet. But let’s take a look at Lauren’s version of the bouquet on her beautiful wedding day with these amazing photos from ENM Photos. Here’s our beautiful bride, Lauren!! I absolutely love the shoulder to toe lace look, it goes especially well with such an intricate bouquet! Lauren’s modified cascade style bridal bouquet was a mixture of burgundy Peonies and Calla Lilies, burgundy and champagne Spray Roses, taupe Roses, mauve Baby’s Breath, Thistle, Cynara, Pampas Grass, sage and brown Fern, Seeded Eucalyptus and burgundy Amaranthus. I love that is has a boho vibe, but looks so good in the great outdoors!

The groom’s bout was a burgundy Calla Lily, taupe Rose bud, Papas, Fern and Eucalyptus. I love it up against his green suit and check out his floral tie in matching colors!

The bridesmaids carried handtied bouquets with a smaller mix of the bridal flowers. They still had that loose look to them and matching ribbon.

Lauren had me create flower girl crown that incorporated the colors and flowers from the bridal bouquet. Isn’t her fancy little dress the best?

Here is the whole crew! I love that their attire reflects the color scheme, including the suspenders on the groomsmen!

And this photo above gives you sneak peak at the ceremony decor. Lauren ordered custom altar arrangements for her gazebo along with aisle arrangements that sat flat on the ground. The aisle arrangements incorporated many of the same flowers from the bouquets, but I included large taupe Peonies to fill out the arrangements even more. Because there were peonies and taupe roses in the bouquets, it doesn’t matter that the bouquets didn’t include the taupe Peonies. It all works together beautifully!

Here’s the full picture of how all these arrangements work together to add a touch of color and detail that coordinates with the flowers in the wedding party. This is a good example of considering the scale of your space. That gazebo is huge! They did a great job planning for that in ordering the large altar arrangements and also adding in the fabric to soften the space and bring your eye across.

Then you add in all your beloved family and friends, seal it with a kiss and you have a wonderful memory to look back on together.

Once you have your bases covered for your ceremony site, it’s time to consider the look you want for your reception area. Lauren was able to use bridesmaid bouquets and her bouquet to decorate their head table. It’s the most cost effective decor decision you can make!

And remember those aisle arrangements we saw earlier? If you love that look, then you’ll love how easily they transform into centerpieces! All you need is a few helping hands to transport them to your space and you have lovely decor for your guest tables!

Sage, Peach and White Wedding - Reveal and Review

There are lots of ways to honor your parents on your own wedding day. You can wear your mom’s wedding dress, commission a special flower arrangement, a written thank you in your program and the list goes on! Leah reached out to me with an idea I hadn’t heard of before—she was going to carry her mom’s silk flower bridal bouquet down the aisle and needed custom silk bridesmaid bouquets that would match it. First, let’s take a look at the photo Leah sent me to see both her dress and the bouquet she would be carrying.

Her beautiful dress was just stunning with lace and beading and delicate details. I would describe her mom’s bouquet the same way! So the trick would be to include some of those elements and design components in the bridesmaid bouquets, just with flowers from a few decades later ;) Leah sent me some fun photos of her with her girls to show off what we designed together. Look at all these lovely ladies! They wore different styles of sage green dresses and it really helps seal the deal on the similar but different flower arrangements.

For the bridesmaid bouquets, they carried round style bouquets with a mix of off white mini Cabbage Roses, dusty peach, Cabbage Roses and Baby’s Breath. And of course some added sage ribbon was a great way to finish off the look. And from these photos you can tell that it doesn’t matter that they flowers were created in different eras, with different types or even for a different wedding party—they turned out timeless.

White and Blue Bouquet Recreation - Reveal

Jay reached out to me for a bridal bouquet recreation in silk wedding flowers for his anniversary and Christmas gift. He sent me some awesome photos of the original bouquet along with a write-up from the florist (bonus points for that!) which helped me determine what actually appeared in the bouquet. They had made some changes to the original suggestions, which is the case with most fresh flower bridal bouquets. What was actually in it was a little different than what the florist had proposed, so having the list and the photos was super helpful!

Gold, White and Peacock Feathers Bouquet Recreation - Reveal

Kirk reached out to me for a custom bridal bouquet recreation in silk flowers for his wife’s unique winter bridal bouquet. Whenever a bouquet has accents, it can present a challenge in recreating it, but I was up for the challenge. Let’s take a look at a side-by-side of the recreation with his wife’s original bouquet!

This bouquet is what is called presentation style or can also be considered a clutch bouquet because it features just 5 flowers. But don’t let the small amount of flowers fool you into thinking it didn’t have impact. Her bouquet featured large, white Calla Lilies and was framed by Peacock feathers and glittery gold Palm Leaves. Finish it off with some shimmery gold ribbon and it was an awesome bouquet!

When you look at their bouquets up against their satiny dresses, the shimmer and gold in the bouquets works beautifully with the colors and the shine!

Black, White and Red Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Jennifer reached out to me and knew exactly what she wanted for her custom silk wedding flowers. She had seen the blog post of Carlie’s black and burgundy fall silk wedding flowers and fell in love! Even though I had created those arrangements over two years ago, I was able to find everything I needed to recreate these unique and eye catching custom silk wedding flowers. Let’s take a look at Jennifer’s wedding photos from her very talented photographer: Jamie Holmes Photography & Videography.

Jennifer’s dress is the real focal point here with the black lace! You can see why she wanted an awesome bouquet to complement it! Her bridal bouquet was a modified cascade style bouquet, mostly round with some draping with a mix of Picasso Callas in dark Red and white, dark Red Roses, Black Roses, Black Baby's Breath and Black Eucalyptus.

What a beautiful group of women! The bridesmaids carried round handtied bouquets with the same mix of flowers as the bridal bouquet. They looked so great against the red dresses!

Rose, Ranunculus and Orchid Bridal Bouquet Recreation - Reveal and Review

Roses, Ranunculus and Orchids might be the most used focal flowers in all the bouquets I’ve ever made. I’m not sure how to collect that data other than thinking back over 20 years of bouquet making and seeing lots of those flowers appear in the arrangements I’ve been commissioned to create. Alexandra’s custom bridal bouquet recreation in silk flowers incorporates all 3 of these favorites! She reached out to me just two weeks after her wedding to recreate her bouquet because she loved it so much! I was honored to help bring this special piece into reality. Lexi Moore Photography captured Alexandra and her bouquet to wonderfully. Let’s take a look at the comparison!

This amazing bouquet was a handtied bouquet with a touch of a cascade thanks to those show-offy Phalaenopsis Orchids. Also in the bouquet were Ranunculus, Garden Roses and English Roses, all in bridal white!

Fall Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Over the last 20 years of business, I have worked some amazing clients, including many moms! Today is an example of how mom Celeste did the footwork to communicate with me on behalf of her daughter, Madyson, to come up with Madyson’s dream custom silk wedding flowers! Celeste did a great job finding out what Madyson wanted in her wedding flowers and then communicating those wishes to me. I was able to send options and ideas that got passed along. And while having go-between has the risk of something getting lost in translation, Celeste was so great and it all went flawlessly! I say all this to encourage those moms, sisters, maids of honor or grooms who have been tasked with making arrangements on behalf of someone else-we got this!

Now let’s take a look at some beautiful shots from two very talented photographers! Payton Boyd Photography captured Madyson’s beautiful bridal portraits and you can find her @paytonboydphotography on Instagram. Taylor Hart Photography was there for the big day. Here’s our lovely bride, Madyson, in her bridal portraits by @paytonboydphotography. She had seen this blog post from a few years ago and loved the arrangements and with a few tweaks I recreated the look for her. Her cascading bridal bouquet was a mix of burgundy and orange Dahlia, ivory Hydrangea, blueberries, burgundy Lamb's Ear, Seeded Eucalyptus, Sage Fern, and frosted sage Greenery. It was full and textural and perfect for a fall wedding!

I wanted to feature their main colors in the boutonnieres, but the Dahlia were too large for a lapel. I found a matching orange Rose and added in some blueberries, burgundy Lambs’ ear and sage greenery for this classic rose boutonniere.

The bridesmaids carried clutch style bouquets with one stem of each of the featured bridal flowers and a small mix of the greenery. One of Madyson’s main colors was teal and her bouquets looked great for an overall jewel themed look!

When I had finished up all the bouquets and boutonnieres, I sent over the final photos to Celeste to get approval from Madyson. Celeste asked me about altar arrangements for the ceremony arch. I came up designs that matched the bouquets, and we added those two pieces to the order before shipping and final invoicing. One of the perks of custom silk wedding flowers is that you know what you are getting ahead of time. Having your flowers done and ready for you weeks, or months, in advance gives me time to take care of any last minute additions.

White and Blush Bridal Bouquet Recreation - Reveal and Review

Last week, I shared a classic bouquet recreation in silk flowers that featured one type of flower-burgundy Calla Lilies. This week, I have another classic style bouquet featuring one type of flowers-white and blush Peonies! Rodney reached out to me while on active duty, hoping to have his wife’s bouquet recreated for their November anniversary. He wanted it delivered in a specific time frame since he wouldn’t be there to deliver himself. I love that I was able to help facilitate such a thoughtful anniversary gift! Let’s take a look at the recreation next to the original bouquet, featured in these photographs by Focused on Forever!

This bouquet was so effortlessly beautiful! When I think of bridal bouquets, this is the style that comes to mind for me. I love that bridal bouquets reflect the style of the bride and the times, but in my mind, this style is immune to trends. Comprised of white and ever so lightly blush Peonies and buds, this round style bouquet also included some bling with some crystals sprinkled throughout. It’s perfection!

Merry Christmas from my family to yours. I am so grateful for a wonderful year of creating custom silk wedding flowers and custom silk bridal bouquet recreations for 69 wonderful clients in Minnesota and across the country. After working on 29 bouquet recreations and 40 weddings in 2025, I’ll be taking a few weeks off from blogging to enjoy the holidays with my family. Tropical Elopement Bouquet Recreation - Reveal

One of the many perks of my job is getting to see some lovely tropical wedding photos! Sonya sent me a few photos of her awesome tropical bouquet from their elopement to the Virgin Islands. She wasn’t able to bring the bouquet back with her and wanted to have a permanent reminder of their special day, so we worked together to make sure her bouquet was recreated as accurately as possible. Let’s take a look at the recreation alongside some photos of the original bouquet. All photos were provided by Sonya and her photographer was a recommendation of her officiant on the island.

Sonya’s bouquet was a handtied style bridal bouquet with a mix of:

It was fun to recreate this tropical elopement bouquet for display in Sonya’s home! And the best part is that I unknowingly sent her the progress photos the day before her anniversary. It was a really special surprise for her and fun for me since I had no idea!
