Red, Black and Gold Renaissance Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Have you considered a themed wedding? Today’s custom silk wedding flowers are a great example of incorporating a theme, without going overboard. Lauren’s red, black and gold wedding was set at a Renaissance Fair, and I can’t wait for you to see it! We really wanted to complement her wedding dress and her groom’s attire. Let’s take a look at some photos from Kacy Hughes Photography from Lauren’s big day!!

Lauren’s wedding gown was a show stopper! With the red satin and gold overlay, it was the perfect look for Renaissance royalty! We wanted to incorporate her three wedding colors into the bouquet, with the red and gold being prominently featured. Her teardrop cascade bouquet featured red Garden Roses and Dahlia, burgundy Calla Lilies, black Skimmia Berries, gold Ruscus and black Feathers.

I wanted to thank you for the wonderful job you did with the flowers. They matched our outfits and the aesthetic PERFECTLY! Once again, thank you so much for the wonderful work you did on our flowers. They were absolutely top-notch, and I’m looking forward to getting them shadowboxed so that we can forever keep them as decorative souvenirs.

The groom’s boutonniere was a red Garden Rose, black Skimmia Berries, gold Ruscus and black Feathers.

I had my wedding at the Renaissance Festival and wanted to have silk flowers so that I could keep them for posterity. I found Erin online and she immediately got to work. She knocked this bouquet and the boutonniere out of the park! Quick, courteous, and responsive; highly recommend her!

Dusty Blue and Ivory Silk Bridal Bouquet and Maid of Honor Bouquet

Small weddings are all the rage right now. Whether that’s a result of Covid-19 or couples reevaluating what they want their dream wedding to be like, I’m doing more and more custom silk bridal bouquets for weddings with just one or two bridesmaids, or none at all! And since things are changing left and right for what can be celebrated and when, there has never been a better time to order flowers that DON’T DIE! I’ve already been able to help out several couples who’s wedding plans had to change and the best part is that they still get beautiful flowers, whenever their wedding ends up happening.

Kayla emailed me looking for her bouquet and a matching one for her Maid of Honor. She had a few inspiration photos and with a little input from me we came up with this bright and light design.

The bridal bouquet consisted of blue Hydrangea, ivory Roses and Calla Lilies, and greens. Kayla wanted to include some bling, so I added individual rhinestones into the bouquet and tied it off with silver ribbon.

I ordered my bridal and maid of honor bouquet after dealing with so many florists. I decided to go with Love is Blooming and holy cow they came out amazing! Erin did an amazing job, she kept me informed, and gave me ideas on what would look good and what wouldn’t. I am so beyond happy with how they turned out.

The matching Maid of Honor bouquet was a smaller version of Kayla’s bridal bouquet, down to the rhinestones and ribbon.

Last Minute Silk Bridal Bouquet

Laura contacted me to make a silk bridal bouquet lickety-split to be there in just two weeks time! She sent me a couple of inspiration photos, but she knew neither one was just right. She wanted to include a Stargazer Lily, some Calla Lilies, and at the last minute we threw in some Lily of the Valley to fill out the bouquet a little more. She also requested that there be some bling, so I used some pretty crystal bead sprays to add some glitz without it overpowering this smaller bouquet. Take a look at the pretty little thing!

Peacock Feathers in Boutonnieres

The guys needed to get in on the peacock feather action, but we didn't want to hear any complaints of said guys having to wear a frou-frou feather.

Groom's Boutonniere: ivory Calla Lily, peacock feathers, black satin ribbon

Groomsmen Bouts: purple Calla Lily, Peacock feather, satin ribbon

Fathers' Bouts: green Orchid, Peacock feather, satin ribbon

Grandfathers' Bouts: ivory Hydrangea cluster, Peacock feather, satin ribbon

Meghan had a couple hosts/hostesses that she wanted to have a flower but not necessarily match the bridal party.  We went with classic white Roses and they fit in perfectly with everything else.

Last but not least, we've got corsages and making them work with feathers.  Check back for more!

Malibu Sunset | Blue & Orange Wedding Flowers

Does that title make anyone else think about your 90's era Barbie dolls?  WHATever! (said with a valley girl accent)

Kristi and I met for her consultation and she reminded me that we had met waaaaaaaay back in January of 2010 at the Maple Grove Bridal Expo.  Her future mother-in-law had been the one to organize the whole shebang and had kept my contact info. Kinda gave me the warm fuzzies.

Kristi's had a unique situation for her orange, Malibu blue, and ivory wedding.  She really wanted a fresh flower bouquet for herself but wanted to use the more budget-friendly silks for everything else.  Though this is a less conventional route, it's not at all a problem!

When it came to the actual flowers, she wasn't picky about the type, but really wanted to find flowers in the Malibu color. I searched through my many resources and found these pretty, full-petal daisies in the perfect shade. The roses were a shade of orange that wasn't too harsh and really complemented the Malibu flowers. We tossed in some Stephanotis for a hint of ivory and finished the bouquets up with silver satin ribbon.  Beautiful!

The boutonnieres and corsage matched in color, but we chose a different flower for the father's and mother's just to set them apart a little bit.

Thanks again to Kristi for choosing me after all this time – glad to know my work was memorable!

Red, White & Yellow Designer Silk Wedding Flowers

One of the best parts about working for myself is that I have the easy choice of putting the interest of my brides first.  I spend a lot of time talking, designing, and meeting with my brides and we get to know each other over several months and sometimes years.

Jessica contacted me in 2008 and through a series of events her wedding was postponed.  I was delighted to hear back from her when her life was in a place where they were back on the wedding planning train and I was thrilled to be asked to be a part of it.  I designed, contracted, and  purchased all the flowers for her big day.  I received a sad email a few weeks later that due to a medical emergency her wedding was being called off.  I was heartbroken for her but wished her well.

A short time later, she emailed me back saying that this marriage was a priority and they were going to be doing a small backyard wedding with friends and family.  We worked together to adjust her designs and instead of doing big and over the top, they were having one attendant each.  I was more than happy to work with her to make her dreams a reality.

The beautiful bridal bouquet: red Orchids, yellow and ivory Callas (yep- they're fresh touch silk wedding flowers!)

The bridesmaid bouquet - so classy!

The bouts for the guys:

Jessica, if you read this, I wish you happiness and health in this exciting new phase of your life.  Thank you for coming back and sticking with me - blessings!

Designer Silk Wedding Flowers | Deb Part 1 | Modified Cascade

If you've ever tried to reinvent the wheel, then you'll probably know where I'm coming from on this wedding bouquet. Deb came to me with a glamorous vision for her May wedding. One of the ideas she had was for a new take on the tried and true cascade bouquet. She passed along a picture of what I've come to call a "modified cascade" bouquet and got excited about working on this design with her.

Deb wanted cohesiveness between her silk wedding bouquet and her bridesmaid bouquets, but she wanted the glam factor to be kicked up a notch for what she was going to carry down the aisle. After several meetings, we had chosen the exact flowers going into the bouquet and then worked on this beauty until it was just perfect. Take a look at Deb's modified cascade in purple, white, and silver:

A closeup of lower details:

Fresh touch Roses, Callas & Gardenia in white. Hydrangea, Violets, Orchids, and Lilac in varying shades of purple.

The curly silver wire gave this bouquet an element that you wouldn't otherwise expect in a bridal bouquet while the rhinestones in the bouquet and on the handle gave it the sparkle and shine Deb really wanted.

If you are looking for a unique take on more traditional wedding flower designs, silk wedding flowers are the way to go. Not only did Deb get to choose every flower that would go into her arrangements, but seeing them ahead of time reassured her that the colors and flowers would be exactly what she had envisioned for her very unique bouquet.
