Classic White Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Today’s wedding features classic white silk wedding flowers with touches of greenery and lots of style! Shelby reached out to me about her idea to feature Calla Lilies as the main flower in all the arrangements. For her bridal bouquet, she wanted some more texture and greenery but wanted to keep it simple for the bridesmaids. Let’s take a look at some beautiful images from her big day, provided by the very talented Jodi Anne Photo!

Look at these lovely ladies! The bridesmaids were all in varying shades of mauve and dusty pink—a beautiful look! Their bouquets were in a round handtied style with Calla Lilies and satin ribbon to finish off the look.

Here’s a closer look at Shelby’s bouquet. For her round handtied style bridal bouquet in silk flowers, we incorporated Calla Lilies, Heather, Seeds, Lamb’s Ear, Olive Greens and Fern. It complemented all the other arrangements nicely, while standing out from the other bouquets.

Did an amazing job with my wedding flowers for each and every person! Erin is amazing to work with and does a great job at customer engagement!
— Shelby | Indiana

The boutonnieres were all pretty simple with a single Calla Lily, greenery and a stalk of Heather for the groom.

Rachel contacted me after seeing her friend Kayla’s bouquet recreation and loving the idea of having her own bouquet created in silk flowers. She sent me a few photos of her gorgeous bridal bouquet and I got to work identifying the various elements. Her original bridal bouquet was a round style with white Peonies, white Hydrangea, white Roses, blush Spray Roses, pink Juliet Roses with blush Astilbe. I tried to preserve my original wedding bouquet, and it didn’t work out like I had hoped. So a friend of mine told me about Love is Blooming, and I was not disappointed! The recreation is beautiful! I cried tears of joy to see my bouquet look as beautiful as the day of my wedding. Erin is fantastic! She was very responsive, and her turn around was very quick. I will recommend her to anyone!!

There really is something timeless and breathtaking about an all white or ivory bridal bouquet. This one was especially beautiful and romantic. This custom bridal bouquet recreation in silk wedding flowers consisted of a variety of white Roses and matching satin ribbon wrap on the stems. It was stunning!

My husband, Cliff, recently worked with you in recreating my wedding bouquet for our fourth wedding anniversary. Our special day was last Friday, November 8, and as expected, I was surprised and touched with this incredibly thoughtful gift. I was completely taken away, not only by the tremendous resemblance in sight, but also how remarkably similar this bouquet was in weight to the original. If I close my eyes, I can actually believe I’m holding the exact bouquet from 4 years ago! Your work and your attention to detail is extraordinary; you are so very talented! Cliff also spoke highly of your customer service and the great time and patience you took in working with him to ensure that this project turned out perfect. I personally thank you for creating this beautiful reminder of our wedding day, and for all the assistance you gave Cliff to help him make our day so special.

Blush and Mauve Bridal Bouquet Recreation

Amy sent me a couple photos of her bridal bouquet. It was gorgeous and full of all sorts of beautiful flowers. She also sent me an invoice from her florist that listed some of the possible flowers that would appear in her bouquet. From that list I was able to track down just the right shades and shapes of blush and mauve Roses, Ranunculus, and Eucalyptus. Take a look!

When I received my recreated bouquet in the mail and opened it, it literally took me back to the wedding day when I first saw my bouquet. It is spectacular! Erin is extremely talented and I am so pleased to be able to enjoy this every day
— Amy | California

These two photos are a great example of why I usually ask for extra details. Amy sent me the second photo to give me a more accurate look at the colors of her flowers. That photo was great for that, but not for seeing the general shape of her bouquet, so I kind of hopped back and forth between both photos during the construction process.

Whether it’s your bouquet that got moldy when it was dried or a gift for your sweetheart to remind her of your wedding day, a bridal bouquet recreation in silk flowers is a great choice! Contact me today for a free quote.

Peacock Feathers in Corsages

Making the ladies feel special is job #1 when creating corsages.  We also needed them to match their male counterparts, but look feminine and pretty.

Grandmothers' Corsage: ivory Hydrangea cluster, Peacock feather, Royal Blue satin ribbon and bow

Mothers' Corsages: We wanted to kick things up a notch for the mamas. Meghan chose wrist corsages with a pretty and delicate clear beaded bracelet so they would have a keepsake from the wedding. I surrounded a single green Orchid with a bunch of ivory Hydrangea and tucked a Peacock feather and some rhinestones into the arrangement.  I love how they turned out.  Matchy matchy, but still beautiful!

This wrist corsage was for one of the hostesses and matched with the always elegant white roses and black satin ribbon.  You can't get much more classic than that!

Whether you are considering adding Peacock feathers or any unusually shaped embellishment into your wedding flowers, don't think "it won't look right."  Just give me a call or fill out my bridal checklist and I'll tell you exactly how it can be done!

Thanks again to Meghan for working with me on such beautiful flowers!

Peacock Feathers in Boutonnieres

The guys needed to get in on the peacock feather action, but we didn't want to hear any complaints of said guys having to wear a frou-frou feather.

Groom's Boutonniere: ivory Calla Lily, peacock feathers, black satin ribbon

Groomsmen Bouts: purple Calla Lily, Peacock feather, satin ribbon

Fathers' Bouts: green Orchid, Peacock feather, satin ribbon

Grandfathers' Bouts: ivory Hydrangea cluster, Peacock feather, satin ribbon

Meghan had a couple hosts/hostesses that she wanted to have a flower but not necessarily match the bridal party.  We went with classic white Roses and they fit in perfectly with everything else.

Last but not least, we've got corsages and making them work with feathers.  Check back for more!

Peonies & Orchids Bridal Bouquet: Bouquet Replica

While we are on the Peony and Orchid train, let's take a look at this sweet little duo I put together for local bride, April.

April got in touch with me last spring about doing a bridal bouquet and boutonniere for her May 2013 wedding.  She had a picture she sent me and knew exactly what she wanted.  I was able to replicate her vision and this is what we came up with!

The bridal bouquet consisted of white/blush pink peonies, magenta peonies, and white and softer pink orchids.  I tied it off with the ever classy white satin ribbon and used the same ribbon on the groom's boutonniere which was a single orchid.

Like the look of peonies and orchids together?  Check out Peonies and Orchids Bouquet  and this other Orchids Wedding Bouquet to see another take on this vibrant combination.

Thanks April for choosing me to make your dream design come to life!

Rustic Beauty- Succulents in Wedding Flowers

I've been itching to do a wedding with a significant amount of succulents and I finally got my wish.  When local bride Katy contacted me, she told me that she really wanted to include succulents for her up north wedding.  I was more than happy to oblige!  We did a variety of succulents for the different boutonnieres and then really went all out for her teardrop cascading bridal bouquet.

Cascading Bridal Bouquet: Peonies, Succulents, Orchids, Seedum, Fern Curls, Millet, Dusty Miller.  Chocolate satin ribbon with twine detail.

A big thank you to Katy for allowing me to create with abandon.  And a huge hug to my big brother Jon of 3104 Studios who shot these artsy fartsy images for me.  Gorgeous right?!

Coral & Silver Destination Wedding Flowers

I think it's only fitting that my next post is about those beauties you see up above here.  A fresh and pretty coral and silver destination wedding with Calla Lilies and Peach Blossoms - love it!

I met with Whitney and her step mom to come up with designs for her destination wedding flowers.

She wasn't really sure what she wanted but she knew her girls were wearing vibrant coral dresses and wanted to somehow bring that into the arrangements.  When we met, I showed her sample stems of the ever popular fresh touch Calla Lily and she was sold.  She loved that they looked fantastic and even felt real.  She still wanted to bring in the coral color so I found Peach Blossoms and spread them throughout the bouquets for a delicate and feminine look.  Add on some silver satin ribbon, a small band of rhinestone wrap and they turned out to be elegant but fun bouquets for a beach wedding.

Whitney chose the same style for all the boutonnieres, a single calla, a few peach blossoms, and satin silver ribbon.  However, she wanted her dad's bout to stand out from the rest, so we added a small section of rhinestone wrap and it was instantly dressed up.  Manly but awesome, right?

Likewise, we did the corsages the same, but that little touch of rhinestones on her mother's corsage made a huge difference.

So if you are looking for a way to set apart certain arrangements, don't feel limited to changing flowers.

Bling is a great way to say "hey, look at me, look at me!"  Keep that in mind when designing your wedding flowers.

Check back tomorrow to see some photographs from Whitney's big day!

Real Wedding: Sarah (Part 2)

Sarah's evening beach wedding needed to reflect the slightly more formal setting. Instead of doing tons of bright colors, her red and white scheme needed to still say "bridal" while also acknowledging they weren't standing in a church.

The clean designs and crisp black and white satin ribbon gave the flowers the formal feel, but the bright red combined with the white kept it appropriate for the coastal nuptials. Thanks to Sarah for letting me create these beautiful and unique flowers for a wedding in the tropics.

Tropical Sensation--Bouquets

I love doing destination weddings! They usually involve bright, tropical flowers, and super excited brides with great tans. Such was the case with local bride Carly. But the story actually goes way back to last January when I did the Maple Grove Bridal expo (remember this?).

At the time of our initial consultation, she wasn't sure what style she liked or what types of flowers she wanted, it was more of wanting to hear more about what I could do. After a few months, she e-mailed me wondering if silks were still an option. Her wedding was about a month away, so we had to meet and chat and decide...in that order.

What we came up with has to be one of my favorite bridal bouquets yet. The deep magentas and the bright fuchsias played off each other so well. Her monochromatic bouquet included lots of different types of flowers, letting each texture and shape speak for itself.

Bridal Bouquet: Banana Flowers, Hydrangea, Mini Calla Lilies, Sweet Pea, Orchids, Orchids, and more Orchids! Ivory satin ribbon for the finishing touch.

Carly wanted the bridesmaids bouquets to be the opposite contrast from the her bouquet. She also wanted their teal dresses to keep that fun, beachy feel by featuring white bouquets. We did bring in some of the magenta with a little bit of satin ribbon on the stem.

Bridesmaid Bouquets: White lilies and Callas.

Can't you just see these on the beach of Cabo? Check back later to see how we tropical-ified the bouts and corsages.

Real silk Wedding flower story: Kelsey (Part 1)

Kelsey and I started meeting to talk about flowers last spring which gave us plenty of time to hash out the details of her November 2010 wedding. Her color swatch of the girls' dresses was a rich red, but wasn't too deep, more of a cheery fall red. She definitely wanted the Autumn look with matching red, gold and burnt orange flowers. She liked the style of the bouquet you see in my header picture, so I started looking for Gerbera Daisies in her color scheme. Knowing she liked callas as well, I found red and orange ones that worked perfectly. We tied off her bouquet with red satin ribbon and the girls all carried smaller versions of her bouquet with orange ribbon.

Tune in later this week, to see all the personal flowers and her gorgeous rustic centerpieces.
