Mauve, Terra Cotta, Nude, Champagne, Blush and Berry Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

If you are looking for a unique, non pink, variety of colors palette that stands out, today is the wedding for you! Heather reached out to me with a lovely color palette of mauve, terra cotta, nude, sage, champagne, and navy. We ended up adding in some peach and blush to blend between the bolder tones. Another unique feature is that Heather really wanted to include Bunny tails, a preserved accent that added some softness and texture to the arrangements. Let’s take a look at Heather’s custom silk wedding flowers, photographed by Melissa McKean Photography!

Heather’s bouquet was a modified cascade style based on an inspiration photo that had just a slight cascade to it. The design included: a mix of standard Eucalyptus, Bunny Tails, nude Roses, champagne Peonies, berry Tea roses, blush Roses, toast Roses, mauve Peonies, terra cotta Roses and Silver Dollar Eucalyptus.

The bridesmaid bouquets were smaller handtied style bouquets based on an inspiration photo and were simplified to include a terra cotta Rose, nude Rose, toast Roses, berry Tea Rose, mauve Peony, Bunny Tails and both kinds of eucalyptus.

Plum, Blush, Rose Gold, Navy and White Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

I love today’s color palette of plum, blush, rose gold, navy and white silk wedding flowers and bridal bouquet. This moody look can work with any season, a ceremony at any time of day and looks great indoors or outdoors. You’re going to see what I’m talking about with these photos of Jessica’s custom silk wedding flowers by Michael Anderson Photography.

Here’s our happy couple! Jessica’s bouquet was a round ball style bouquet with a mix of white Garden Roses, plum Tea Roses, navy Garden Roses, mauve Peonies, and one navy Magnolia as a feature flower. We wanted a color that would bridge the darks and lights so we incorporated some magenta purple Ranunculus to create a nice blend. Jessica didn’t want greenery to be a focal but she wanted a touch, so we added a light collar of Silver Dollar Eucalyptus around the bottom of her bouquet. The groom’s boutonniere was a white Rose, magenta purple Ranunculus, navy accent flowers and a touch of greenery.

I LOVE this photo! The backdrop is beautiful, the warm and cozy shawls they are wearing and the variety of dress colors makes for such an interesting and lovely photo. We simplified the bridesmaid bouquets to be a little different than the bridal but incorporated the same color scheme. To differentiate between their bouquets and Jessica’s, I reduced the size, changed out the white Roses for white Baby’s Breath and we did not include a Magnolia.

Beautiful flowers for my wedding that will last a lifetime! Erin was great to work with and found me the perfect floral colors to match my wedding colors. I am very glad I chose this small business and will gladly refer Love is Blooming to family and friends.

Classic White Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Today’s wedding features classic white silk wedding flowers with touches of greenery and lots of style! Shelby reached out to me about her idea to feature Calla Lilies as the main flower in all the arrangements. For her bridal bouquet, she wanted some more texture and greenery but wanted to keep it simple for the bridesmaids. Let’s take a look at some beautiful images from her big day, provided by the very talented Jodi Anne Photo!

Look at these lovely ladies! The bridesmaids were all in varying shades of mauve and dusty pink—a beautiful look! Their bouquets were in a round handtied style with Calla Lilies and satin ribbon to finish off the look.

Here’s a closer look at Shelby’s bouquet. For her round handtied style bridal bouquet in silk flowers, we incorporated Calla Lilies, Heather, Seeds, Lamb’s Ear, Olive Greens and Fern. It complemented all the other arrangements nicely, while standing out from the other bouquets.

Did an amazing job with my wedding flowers for each and every person! Erin is amazing to work with and does a great job at customer engagement!
— Shelby | Indiana

The boutonnieres were all pretty simple with a single Calla Lily, greenery and a stalk of Heather for the groom.

Silk Wedding Flowers for a Destination Wedding

It’s been hot here in Minneapolis, so a tropical destination wedding seemed like a fitting blog post for this week! I don’t often get to do tropical themed wedding flowers, but this year I’ve done several. While most brides aren’t looking for over-the-top tropical themes, they do gravitate towards the bright colors and rich greenery that is often the backdrop for their wedding days. This is a great example of a hybrid silk bridal bouquet that incorporates some classic wedding flowers and colors along with brighter pops of color and that tropical foliage that is instantly recognizable and decidedly NOT Minnesotan greenery.

This bridal bouquet was a mix of pinks and whites, per the bride’s request. I used a variety of Peonies and Ranunculus, a few mauve Roses and some smaller seeds and Cosmos. The Palm branches and mini Monstera added some texture and shape to the bouquet so that it would look good in any environment, but especially a beach ceremony.

The bridesmaid bouquet was sized down and more round shaped than the bridal which was more of a modified cascade style. Both were wrapped in satin ribbon in the color Rosewater.

When Peonies are a main flower in the bouquets, I like to use Ranunculus for the boutonnieres and corsages. They have a similar shape and look as Peonies, but a much more appropriate size for being on a lapel or wrist.

The boutonnieres were custom matched to what the groom, groomsman, and ring bearers would be wearing. And since the ringbearers were her little boys, we had them coordinate with the groom’s boutonniere too. I added just a touch of greenery in the boutonnieres to that it all matched, in a sort of non-matchy way. The pin on style corsages were a mix of white and pink Peonies and greenery with a small spray of rhinestones for a little shine.

Modified Cascade Silk Bridal Bouquet Review

One of my favorite all time silk bridal bouquets was Lexi’s Whimsical modified cascade style bridal bouquet. It was big, bold, interesting, colorful, textural, romantic…seriously, I could go on and on about it! So when Lexi sent me some photos from her wedding day, I was so excited to share them with you! Be sure and check out their photographer, Korey J. Smith Cinematography, if you are looking for a highly talented photographer in Utah.

Wedding flowers don’t often get the consideration of scale. But can you imagine if Lexi’s bouquet had been any smaller? The enormity of the architecture around this gorgeous couple would have made a smaller bouquet disappear!

What magazine should this appear in first?? It’s a piece of art!

Working with Erin was my favorite experience in planning my wedding. I had found this picture on pinterest and kept coming back to it. I knew there was no way to recreate what I saw in this picture, or so I thought. When I showed the picture to Erin she was confident we could create it. It was so much fun, designing and creating this bouquet. With being out of state and working fully online with her, I was so impressed with how quick her turn around was. She literally found the most beautiful flowers I could have ever picked to create this dream bouquet! When she sent me images of the final product, I could not wait! When everything arrived, I was even more impressed with Erin and her work. Having everything shipped across the country also was so easy. I could tell when everything arrived, that she took such great care in creating my wedding bouquet as well as all of the other flowers I had purchased for the wedding. The day of our wedding was perfect, what was the best part was holding this beautiful bouquet of flowers! Having a summer wedding, the worry of your flowers not making it can be stressful. However, with Erin’s silk bouquet I did not have to worry! I was just able to stand tall and beautiful grinning ear to ear with the man I love and the most gorgeous flowers I have ever seen!

Still almost a year later my flowers look immaculate! I am so happy I found Erin and Love is Blooming to make the most perfect wedding bouquet for my most perfect day!

I love seeing action shots of the flowers and aren’t these flower girls the cutest?!

These portraits of the couple are just so good!

Custom Wedding Flowers to Complement Wisteria Bridesmaid Dresses

This is my fourth wedding in the last 9 months where Wisteria was the main wedding color. When bridesmaids are wearing Wisteria dresses, you want colors that complement them without being too matchy-matchy. Rachel’s wedding flowers were a fun challenge because she wanted to incorporate some mauve and blush pink for a soft romantic look. We decided her silk bridal bouquet was the perfect place for that.

This modified cascading bridal bouquet had ivory Roses, ivory Dahlia, ivory Ranunculus, mauve Roses, blush pink Tulips, blush pink Seedum, plum Heather, Fern, Smilax and Ivy with Antique White satin ribbon.

The bridesmaid bouquets were quite a bit different from the bridal bouquet. The base of the bouquet was Hydrangea for a nice full look, a single ivory Dahlia, cream mini Tulips with a collar of plum Heather and Smilax. They were finished off with Antique White ribbon.

The toss bouquet was a mix between both styles of bouquets with ivory Roses and Hydrangea, mauve Roses, plum Heather, Smilax and a touch of Fern. I added the Antique White ribbon and some tails because they look good flying through the air.

Mauve, Ivory and Blush Silk Wedding Flowers

Happy New Year! Maybe you are starting new habits, keeping up with the old, or maybe you aren’t doing either this year! But if you are planning a wedding for 2020, now is the time to start!

Dorothy saw this blog post of a silk bridal bouquet recreation and she loved the bouquet so much, she decided she wanted to order it for her own bridal bouquet. We adapted it slightly so that there was less of the blush color, but the shape and composition basically stayed the same.

If you’ve seen a bouquet somewhere else that you like, but knew a few changes would mean you’d love it, I’m your gal! Contact me today to talk ideas!

Blush and Mauve Bridal Bouquet Recreation

Amy sent me a couple photos of her bridal bouquet. It was gorgeous and full of all sorts of beautiful flowers. She also sent me an invoice from her florist that listed some of the possible flowers that would appear in her bouquet. From that list I was able to track down just the right shades and shapes of blush and mauve Roses, Ranunculus, and Eucalyptus. Take a look!

When I received my recreated bouquet in the mail and opened it, it literally took me back to the wedding day when I first saw my bouquet. It is spectacular! Erin is extremely talented and I am so pleased to be able to enjoy this every day
— Amy | California

These two photos are a great example of why I usually ask for extra details. Amy sent me the second photo to give me a more accurate look at the colors of her flowers. That photo was great for that, but not for seeing the general shape of her bouquet, so I kind of hopped back and forth between both photos during the construction process.

Whether it’s your bouquet that got moldy when it was dried or a gift for your sweetheart to remind her of your wedding day, a bridal bouquet recreation in silk flowers is a great choice! Contact me today for a free quote.

Silk Bridal Bouquet Recreation Stunner

I love all the silk bridal bouquet recreations that I get to make, but there are a few that are always just so darn amazing. When Anthony sent over some photos of his wife’s bouquet, I knew this was going to be one those hall-of-famers for me.

With its Peonies, Ranunculus, Anemone, multiple types of Roses, Thistle, Fern, Lamb’s Ear, and Smilax in such an interesting shape I couldn’t wait to get started on this one. Take a look!

Seriously…so amazing! I wish I could have kept it!

The bouquet was beautiful and spot on! You have a great eye and the bouquet is such a great recreation of the real thing. We have it in a vase on our breakfast table and love seeing it every day. It’s such a great reminder of our wedding day.

Mauve and Blush Silk Wedding Flowers

It might be obvious that what I do is fun, but every once in a while it's a little...extra. When I get a bride who gives me some freedom to come up with something special, it's a fun challenge for me. Liz is one of those brides. Her sister Katherine had the same adventurous spirit when it came to her wedding flowers. Sounds like a fun family to be a part of!

So when Liz contacted me to do her silk wedding flowers too, I was excited because she gave me a color palette of mauve and blush pink and mentioned she wanted a variety of greenery.  Here's what I came up with:

This stunning, cascading bouquet has blush Peonies, light and dark mauve fresh touch Roses, ivory Roses, Baby's breath, mauve Thistle, Seeded Eucalyptus and Dusty Miller. I tied it off with a beautiful mauve satin ribbon to finish the look. The textures are so interesting and the color combo is just gorgeous!

The bridesmaid bouquets had some of the same flowers as the bridal, but a different shape. They also had the blush Peonies, ivory Roses, dark mauve Roses, Baby's Breath, Seeded Eucalyptus and Dusty Miller. It still had lots of fun texture and color, but the bridal bouquet had those few extra elements to set it apart. I wrapped the bridesmaid and toss bouquets in a blush pink satin ribbon for an elegant touch.

One of the bridesmaid bouquets with the cute little toss bouquet. The toss included ivory Roses, a single dark mauve Rose, Seeded Eucalyptus and that beautiful mauve satin ribbon.

The boutonnieres and corsages used mauve and ivory roses with various greenery and smaller accent flowers to bring in more of the colors. If you want to see more weddings that incorporated mauve, check out these blog posts!

If you have a general idea but are looking for ways to jazz up a basic plan, I'm the one you need to talk to! Whether it's bringing more color to your flowers, adding unique textures or finding ways to set apart your wedding flowers, I've got ideas. Contact me to get started!

Vintage Wedding Flowers

A few weeks ago, I got an email from out-of-state bride Susan looking for me to replicate one of my own vintage wedding flower bouquets. You can see the original design here. That particular bouquet had already sold on my Etsy shop, and because it was crafted more than a year ago, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to duplicate it exactly as pictured. The more I talked with Susan, the more I began to understand her vision for her vintage inspired wedding.  She wanted to tie in the color mauve that would be an element feature in her wedding dress. So I set out to find some flowers that would give Susan a similar look as the original bouquet but also give it a custom twist.

Vintage Bouquet in Process

The bouquet is still in progress, but here's a sneak peak of the main flowers you'll see in the finished product.

I'm really excited to share more as I progress on this design. Susan's bouquet will also have some awesome bling in a variety of pieces, including a cameo broach made by Susan herself. It's going to be gorgeous!

If you see something you like, whether on my site or across the interwebs, contact me today to find out if a recreation or modification is doable!
