Destination Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Destination weddings are an awesome idea for adventure, stunning locations and unforgettable memories. But they also present a few challenges that take a little more thought. If you are the type of bride who wants to know what the plan is, destination weddings often require a bit of trust. One are that you can have complete control over is by ordering custom silk wedding flowers to take along on your destination wedding. Jamiah was one of those brides who had a destination wedding planned but wanted more say in her wedding flowers. She was a breeze to work with as we designed her custom silk wedding flowers for her destination wedding. Let’s take a look at some amazing photographs of her beach wedding from the amazing Gisselle Photography. You can also find her here on Instagram: Gisselle Gonzalez on Instagram

I love that Jamiah’s dress had such beautiful detail in the sleeves and the beading on the dress. She wanted a bouquet that wasn’t overly large but included some touches of tropical colors, some variety in texture and some classic tropical greenery. Her round handtied bouquet was a mix of Tropical style with nude Roses, champagne mini Roses, white Orchids, white Anthurium, white Anemone, cream Lisianthus, peach Ranunculus, Protea, rust garden Roses, Monstera leaves and a bit of Fern. I designed the bouquet to lay flat so that she could easily pack it in her suitcase.

The bridesmaids wore these lovely jewel-tone dark teal dresses that really allowed the white and soft peach flowers to really pop. Their bouquet were also round handtied style with a mix of the same flowers from the bridal bouquet, except the Orchids and rust Garden Roses. We also changed the Protea to be a softer peach color. Jamiah liked the idea of her bouquet being a little bolder than the bridesmaids.

I found Erin while from a Google search in a somewhat confused desperation, unwilling to pay $1000+ for local florals for my destination wedding that I wouldn’t be able to keep, let alone travel home with. I am not a creative person, so from the start of communication with Erin I left much of the imagination to her. She was so patient in finding flowers that would make an arrangement to fit my theme and coordinate well. Despite my indecision and the back and forth, Erin was able to create absolutely stunning arrangements — from the wedding party to my bridal bouquet. She truly brought our vision to life, and we couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out! Un-funny story: Erin shipped my flowers around mid-December and my bridesmaid was sure hers didn’t arrive despite triple-checking the tracking. I informed Erin and without hesitation, she was about to make another bouquet. Thankfully, my bridesmaid found her bouquet box as it had been mistaken for a Christmas present and hidden away, but Erin’s willingness to make a replacement was incredibly comforting during such a stressful time. Erin’s patience, communication and creativity was uncomplicated, direct and flexible. I truly appreciated how thoughtful and responsive she was during my planning. We received so many compliments on the flowers, and it’s all thanks to Erin’s talent and attention to detail. Her professionalism and creativity made the entire process seamless, and we are so grateful for all the hard work she put into making our day so special. I will treasure my bouquet for a lifetime.

The groom and groomsmen flowers were a little more simple in style with a white Anemone and some smaller tropical greens.

Bright Beach Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Charlee reached out to me for help when the original silk bridal bouquet she ordered from a different florist didn’t live up to her expectations. While there were some elements of her purchase that she liked, it pretty much needed to be remade. I started sending her options of what I could add to it and how I could reshape it to bring her vision to life. What we ended up designing together is a stunner of a bouquet for her tropical wedding last year. Let’s take a look at the photos by Silverfox Studios of New York.

Charlee’s bouquet needed to stand out on such a big and beautiful back drop. Her modified cascade bridal bouquet was a mix of blue Hydrangea, orange Hibiscus and Orchids, flame Succulents, pink Peonies, green Hydrangea, Gloriosa lilies, yellow Roses, Cymbidium orchids, red and green Anthurium and a whole bunch of tropical foliage. She loved the idea of trailing ribbon, so we finished off the bouquet with a ribbon wrap and tails.

Thanks for my amazing wedding bouquet; so pretty and bright, exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for making the time to re-do my original bouquet that I had made. You made my day very happy once I received what I imagined it to look like : ) The guests all loved my bouquet and commented that it was very beautiful, unique and stunning.

Charlee had ordered bridesmaid bouquets prior to working with me and I loved how she had chosen to go simple with white flowers and greenery so that their varying shades of dress colors would stand out.

She also sent me this photo of how she displays her bouquet at home. I love the branch full of shells and beach glass to go with it!

Silk Wedding Flowers for a Destination Wedding

It’s been hot here in Minneapolis, so a tropical destination wedding seemed like a fitting blog post for this week! I don’t often get to do tropical themed wedding flowers, but this year I’ve done several. While most brides aren’t looking for over-the-top tropical themes, they do gravitate towards the bright colors and rich greenery that is often the backdrop for their wedding days. This is a great example of a hybrid silk bridal bouquet that incorporates some classic wedding flowers and colors along with brighter pops of color and that tropical foliage that is instantly recognizable and decidedly NOT Minnesotan greenery.

This bridal bouquet was a mix of pinks and whites, per the bride’s request. I used a variety of Peonies and Ranunculus, a few mauve Roses and some smaller seeds and Cosmos. The Palm branches and mini Monstera added some texture and shape to the bouquet so that it would look good in any environment, but especially a beach ceremony.

The bridesmaid bouquet was sized down and more round shaped than the bridal which was more of a modified cascade style. Both were wrapped in satin ribbon in the color Rosewater.

When Peonies are a main flower in the bouquets, I like to use Ranunculus for the boutonnieres and corsages. They have a similar shape and look as Peonies, but a much more appropriate size for being on a lapel or wrist.

The boutonnieres were custom matched to what the groom, groomsman, and ring bearers would be wearing. And since the ringbearers were her little boys, we had them coordinate with the groom’s boutonniere too. I added just a touch of greenery in the boutonnieres to that it all matched, in a sort of non-matchy way. The pin on style corsages were a mix of white and pink Peonies and greenery with a small spray of rhinestones for a little shine.

Funky Beach Wedding Bridal Bouquet - Destination Wedding

Beach wedding flowers in silk bridal bouquets typically have a very tropical and bright vibe to them. But what if you want an element of funk? Maybe with some unexpected textures? And what if your color palette is more moody than bright? I introduce you to Candace’s flowers!

Candace’s stunning bridal bouquet was a mix of dark burgundy spider Mums, beige Peonies, dusty pink Succulents, and a huge mix of greenery. This bouquet was especially fun because Candace really let me run with her ideas and I gave her some pretty out-of-the-box suggestions. She was totally game and said yes to them all. She wasn’t really sure what she wanted for ribbon, so once again I stepped out on a limb and added….them all! Well not really ALL the ribbon I had, but a lot of colors in her palette in both satin, sheer and muslin textures. I left them pretty long so that when Candace received the bouquet she could trim them down to whatever worked best for her dress and her height.

Candace also went the non-traditional route for the moms. She decided a mini bouquet was a great option for them to carry on her big day. Their silk clutch style bouquets were made up of a single beige Peony and Mum with greenery and wrapped with Rosewater colored satin ribbon, just one of the colors in Candace’s bouquet.

Erin worked with me so well, understanding what I envisioned even though I couldn’t describe it. Throughout COVID she kept in touch with me and made sure we were on the same page for how the arrangements were looking. Every step of the process was clearly and thoroughly described. Just picked up my arrangements and WOW ❤❤❤❤❤
