Yellow, Dusty Blue and Ivory Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

I really love today’s set of photos that I get to share with you. Zephyr’s custom silk wedding flowers were a mix of yellow, dusty blue and ivory. We had a plan for her bouquet when she placed her order and then she saw Lexi’s bridal bouquet and liked the shape and look so much that we decided to use that as the inspiration for her bouquet. Let’s take a look at the beautiful images from Photographs by Julie. And if you want, you can find her here on Facebook.

Zephyr’s bouquet was a mix of yellow Roses, blue Dogwood and Hydrangea, ivory Cabbage Roses and Anemone with ivy and greenery. Look at the train on her dress! Doesn’t she look stunning??

Erin is AMAZING! She made all of the bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres! She is the kindest most thoughtful vendor and you won’t regret it!!

I’m loving the trend of dusty blue, it’s moody and classic and perfect for a variety of seasons.

Thanks again to Zephyr for sharing photos of her big day and to Photographs by Julie for her amazing photos.

Custom Wedding Flowers to Complement Wisteria Bridesmaid Dresses

This is my fourth wedding in the last 9 months where Wisteria was the main wedding color. When bridesmaids are wearing Wisteria dresses, you want colors that complement them without being too matchy-matchy. Rachel’s wedding flowers were a fun challenge because she wanted to incorporate some mauve and blush pink for a soft romantic look. We decided her silk bridal bouquet was the perfect place for that.

This modified cascading bridal bouquet had ivory Roses, ivory Dahlia, ivory Ranunculus, mauve Roses, blush pink Tulips, blush pink Seedum, plum Heather, Fern, Smilax and Ivy with Antique White satin ribbon.

The bridesmaid bouquets were quite a bit different from the bridal bouquet. The base of the bouquet was Hydrangea for a nice full look, a single ivory Dahlia, cream mini Tulips with a collar of plum Heather and Smilax. They were finished off with Antique White ribbon.

The toss bouquet was a mix between both styles of bouquets with ivory Roses and Hydrangea, mauve Roses, plum Heather, Smilax and a touch of Fern. I added the Antique White ribbon and some tails because they look good flying through the air.

Fairy Tale Themed Silk Bridal Bouquet

When you hear about Fairy Tale Themed weddings, you might think, but where do they get the friendly woodland creatures to surround them on their magical day?? Ok, so maybe that’s just what I think of ;) How about a wedding held outdoors at the very unique Minnesota Rennaissance Festival for that dreamy, fairy tale wedding? That is where bride Sarah is headed later this summer for her enchanting ceremony with these silk wedding flowers.

This awesomely big bouquet was filled with a variety of textures and colors. It incorporated ivory Roses, lavender Cabbage Roses, plum Peonies, Lavender sprigs, lavender and wisteria Heather, lavender Hydrangea, Ivy and Eucalyptus.

Sarah liked the idea of wrapping the handle with two different colors of ribbon. I used a classic ballet tie with an Antique White base with Lavender satin criss-crossed over the top. It felt like the beginnings of a bouquet fit for royalty, but adding in a bunch of ribbon streamers seemed like the perfect way to make a bouquet fit for a princess.

Bright Colors in Fall Silk Wedding Flowers

A lot of times, when we think of fall, colors like brown, gold, rust, olive, burgundy come to mind. How do I put this delicately? They are the colors of plant life ceasing to actively grow (ahem, dead stuff). And while those colors look amazing together, there is no rule saying your fall wedding can’t be bright and lively. Take these fall silk wedding flowers and bridal bouquet for example:

We’ve got all the classic fall colors but in brighter tones making for cheerier wedding flowers. If you are the type of bride who bucks the trend or doesn’t stick with the norms, contact me today to find out how your wedding flowers can reflect your unique personality.

Feature: Altar Arrangements

Occasionally I get brides who are only needing one or two of a specific type of arrangement for their wedding. My sister-in-law's neighbor, Jenna, originally contacted me regarding the Carlson Craft Invitations that I sell, but came back when she decided she wanted two altar arrangements for her outdoor wedding. She had already created the bridal party flowers herself, but didn't want to take on a larger arrangement. She e-mailed me this picture from another florist to show me the style and composition that she was drawn to:

I could tell off the bat that while this picture was helpful for conveying the idea, it was going to be way too small for what Jenna needed. She wanted arrangements that be floor-standing and designed to be a focal point of her ceremony site. Her budget was $100 per arrangement and while two of these small tabletop arrangements could have been hers from this other designer for $81.50 each, I knew I could creatively design  significantly larger pieces within her budget. So with the basic design ideas from her original picture, I created these two beauties:

Each arrangement has 13 Ivory Calla Lilies, Ivy, and Bear Grass. They are gathered in matte Ivory Rectangular vases with a single band of Latte ribbon to bring her other color into the arrangement. Standing over 3 feet tall, the pair will make a great frame for her altar, enhancing the natural beauty of her outdoor location without taking anything away from it. And for only $90 each, she received the wow factor she was looking for!

Thanks to Jenna for trusting me to create arrangements that were right for her!
