Red, Black and Gold Renaissance Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Lauren’s red, black and gold wedding was set at a Renaissance Fair, and I can’t wait for you to see it! We really wanted to complement her wedding dress and her groom’s attire. Lauren’s wedding gown was a show stopper! With the red satin and gold overlay, it was the perfect look for Renaissance royalty! We wanted to incorporate her three wedding colors into the bouquet, with the red and gold being prominently featured. Her teardrop cascade bouquet featured red Garden Roses and Dahlia, burgundy Calla Lilies, black Skimmia Berries, gold Ruscus and black Feathers.

Jewel Tone Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal

Getting to work with local couples is always fun because I get to meet them in person when they pick up their flowers. And if I’m really lucky, I get to run into them in the wild, like I did at my son’s basketball tournament recently! Amber was so easy to work with to create her custom silk wedding flower designs and so it was extra fun to see her again and meet her husband and their sweet kiddos in a school gym, of all places! She had just sent me these photos a few days before, so it was great timing to be able to share their wedding day with you! Let’s take a look at these awesome photos by Abigail Niemann Photography.

Our happy couple who look like they are having the best day ever in these pictures! Amber’s bouquet was a teardrop cascade style with a mix of emerald green Roses, white Lilies, purple Mums, burgundy and magenta Roses, cream Ranunculus, berry Tea Roses, Succulents, Lamb’s Ear and Eucalyptus. I loved this color combination, especially with that pop of magenta in there!

The bridesmaids carried similar bouquets in a smaller handtied style. We did simplify them so that only the bridal bouquet had Liles and Succulents. That just meant Amber’s bouquet stood out even more!

Awesome Altar Arrangements in Navy, Dusty Blue and White Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Alec and Bailey were interested in seeing some flowers in person to be reassured of quality, style and that we were a good fit to work together. Since the majority of my business is done online, it was fun to sit down with them and hear their vision. I showed them some examples of flowers, we talked about color combinations, and we were able to take some selections and come up with a winning combination of flowers and greenery. Let’s take a look at their custom silk wedding flowers, photographed by the very talented Katie Lindgren!

Here’s our sweet bride, Bailey! Her bouquet was a teardrop cascade style with 1 navy Magnolia, a few navy Ranunculus, dusty blue Dogwood, white garden Roses, white Hydrangea, white Dahlia, Skimmia berries, white Seeds, Lamb's Ear, Seeded Eucalyptus and some mixed greenery that worked with the bridesmaid dress color. Bailey wanted her bouquet to feature navy and dusty blue, but for the bridesmaid bouquets to be all white with greenery.

In their lovely sage green dresses, the bridesmaid carried round handtied style bouquets with white Hydrangea, Dahlia, and  Roses, seeds, and the same mix of greenery as the bridal bouquet. I love how it makes the blue really stand out even more!

Look at this stunning altar! The filtered light through the windows, the warmth of the wood arch, it’s amazing! Because Alec and Bailey were local, we didn’t have to contend with shipping, so I was able to a little bigger and badder on their altar arrangement. The corner piece was a mix of navy Magnolia, Delphinium and small accent flowers, dusty blue Dogwood, white Dahlia, Hydrangea and Roses and lots of greenery. I also created a piece to go on the opposite beam that included white Roses, navy Ranunculus, dusty blue Dogwood and more greenery.

Moving on to the reception! They ordered custom centerpieces made to drop into vases that their venue provided. We went with the all white theme of Roses, Dahlia, Hydrangea and Seeds and went with just the Seeded Eucalyptus for greenery. It’s a classic look that goes with any space. And since these are silk flowers, they are reusable and ready for your next event or even for another bride to use!

“Erin was SO wonderful to work with for our wedding - I can’t recommend her enough! We went into the planning with a fairly open mind, as neither of us were well-versed in flower types or had a super specific vision at the time of our consultation. Erin is skilled at her craft and was able to make several suggestions with us being fairly open canvases, and she also showed us several examples of past work to help us decide what we’d like. She has a ton of flower types and colors at her disposal and is very willing to work with you to execute what you’re looking for. She was very flexible, communicative, and genuinely excited to help us make our day beautiful! Additionally, shortly before our wedding and after we’d placed our initial order, our layout changed a bit at the venue and we needed to add some additional arrangements last minute. Erin was super accommodating and let us know the additional ones wouldn’t be exactly the same but she’d make them as close as she could, and I honestly couldn’t even tell the difference! I also received several compliments on the arrangements at the wedding, especially for my bridal bouquet and the arch pieces - a few people even told me they couldn’t believe they were silk flowers! 10/10 would highly recommend!”

Navy, Dusty Blue and White Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Local bride, Peggy, reached out to me for her winter wedding. She didn’t want to go any traditional route, and her friends were a great help in identifying flowers she would like to include. She sent me her inspiration photos and her colors, and I started making suggestions. What we came up with was a lovely mix of navy, dusty blue and white silk wedding flowers. Let’s take a look at the photos Peggy shared with me from her big day! Her niece, Jada Gutowski, was the photographer. You can find her on Facebook @jadafayephotography11.

Peggy’s teardrop cascading bridal bouquet was a mix of navy Roses and Peonies, medium blue Spray Roses, dusty blue Anemone, white Phalaenopsis Orchids, white Cabbage and Garden Roses, white Heather and Seeds, Stephanotis, and Longleaf and Silver Dollar Eucalyptus. The varying shades of blue with all the textures, the white accents and the touches of greenery made her bouquet a real show stopper!

Peggy had one bridesmaid who carried a round handtied style bouquet with the same mix of flowers. Her flower girl carried a clutch style bouquet. And since Peggy knew she loved rainbows, we added a custom mix of ribbon tails in a variety of rainbow colors. What a sweet touch!

Cake flowers are easy to forget about, but they are also easy to add to your order. Peggy’s cake was a beautiful three tier with frosting polka-dots and blue watercolor-like streaks. I created a topper and a cluster for the bottom layer that brought in all her colors and variety of the flowers.

Working with silk wedding flowers gives me continual opportunities to be creative, not just with shapes of bouquets, but with their composition! Sometimes brides love a bouquet they’ve seen so much, they want an exact copy. But what I’ve found to be true more often is that brides want their silk wedding flowers to have a custom element, something they haven’t seen before. When Chumani reached out to me for her navy, Sapphire blue and gray color scheme, I was excited to present some options to her for a truly custom combination. Here are some photos of her arrangements taken by the very talented Mariah Joy Photography!

The bridal bouquet was a classic tear drop cascade shape with a mix of white Phalaenopsis orchids, ivory Cabbage Roses, navy Ranunculus, sapphire blue Roses, blue Anemone, Blueberries, blue/gray Heather and Lamb’s Ear.

The groom’s boutonniere was a sapphire blue Rose, white Orchid, Heather and Lamb’s ear.

Chumani ordered boutonnieres and corsages for all her loved ones and worked with me to decide who wears which color vs. a mix of her colors. I loved how thoughtful she was in making those decisions!

Plum, Lavender and Gray Silk Wedding Flowers- Reveal and Review

I’m excited to get to share another beautiful purple themed wedding with you today. Kennedy contacted me looking for custom silk wedding flowers with a variety of shades of purple and white flowers. I made some flower suggestions based on the inspiration photos she sent me and we collaborated on the composition of the bouquets until everything was just right. Here’s our beautiful bride, Kennedy! Her bridal bouquet was a teardrop cascade style with a mix of white Garden Roses, lavender Cabbage Roses, lavender gray Peonies, Lavender, plum Cosmos, lavender Freesia, white Heather and seeds and Ruscus.

Kennedy really liked the look of the boutonnieres being made of a mix of smaller, more delicate flowers. I played around with the combinations to make sure we included her colors, but kept them unique.

Black, Red and Burgundy Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Michelle’s black, red and burgundy silk wedding flowers were show stoppers. This unique color combination is not one I had worked before and I was super excited because she also wanted some elements that would definitely turn up the glam on her arrangements. These amazing images are by Parker’s Images. Check them out on their website or Facebook! Let’s get a closer look at Michelle’s bouquet!

Michelle’s teardrop cascading silk bridal bouquet was a mix of red and black Garden Roses, dark burgundy Calla Lilies, black Skimmia Berries and a touch of greenery. To crank up the style we added in skinny black feathers and a large black rhinestone broach.

The bridesmaids carried round handtied bouquets with the same mix of flowers and an asymmetrical accent of the skinny black feathers.

Here’s all the handsome men with their boutonnieres. The groom’s boutonniere was a red Spray Rose, Skimmia and feathers with a touch of greenery. We simplified the groomsmen to be just the dark burgundy Calla Lily and some feathers. All bouquets and boutonnieres were finished off with a wine red satin ribbon.

“Erin did a fabulous job on our wedding flowers. She was very communitive throughout the whole process and gave progress photos while she worked on them. If I had any changes or requests, she did everything to accommodate them. They look amazing and were very durable. Guests wanted to take my flowers home but we loved them so much we couldn’t part with them. They look very realistic and now we have keepsakes forever. I would 100% recommend Love is Blooming and Erin. She is just the sweetest to work with.”

Michelle wanted to incorporate matching flowers into her centerpieces. She already had lanterns, so I designed these small clusters of a red and a black Garden Rose with a little bit of greenery to tie on with matching ribbon.

She wanted a little something more for the head table, so I suggested using a garland with black and red roses dispersed along the length of the garland. It was a great way to add floral arrangements without blocking anyone’s view of the happy couple and the bridal party.

Lavender, Blush and Dusty Blue Silk Wedding Flowers-Reveal and Review

I’ve known Lexi and her family for about 18 years and my husband’s family has known them even longer. I felt incredibly honored to be asked to do silk wedding flowers and her bridal bouquet for her and Austin’s August wedding. Their color scheme was lavender, blush, dusty blue and ivory with pops of greenery. I went a little overboard with sharing their photos, but you’ll see really quickly why. These amazing images, provided by Cameron and Tia, were so fun to scroll through! Check them out if you are in the Minneapolis area!

Here’s our lovely couple Lexi and Austin, and they are clearly in love!

Lexi’s bridal bouquet was a mix of lavender Cabbage Roses, blush Peonies, purple Lilac, Baby’s Breath, ivory Roses, Lavender greenery, dusty blue Thistle and Eucalyptus in a teardrop cascade style bouquet. This bouquet was extra special because Lexi was able to give me a piece from her Mom’s and Grandma’s wedding dresses to wrap the handle of her bouquet.

The bridesmaid bouquets were round handtied style with the same flowers as the bridal bouquet. Lexi also ordered some small, loose flowers for her stylist to put in, the day of the wedding.

The wedding and reception took place at Hidden Meadow and Barn in Pepin, Wisconsin. The ceremony site had this amazing and huge arch. I created 2 large swags and a smaller piece to match the scale of the structure.

The arch pieces did double-duty the day of the wedding and after the ceremony were moved to the reception area to decorate this beautiful fireplace.

Lexi didn’t shy away from a little DIY project. She sourced the garlands and vases for the tables and ordered loose stems from me so the whole look was cohesive.

I love this shot of their elegant cake with a custom topper. For this design, Lexi ordered loose flowers to be placed on the cake by the baker. I handed them over to, none other than my Mother-in-Law, designer and baker of this delicious and beautiful wedding cake. Chad contacted me about recreating his wife’s teardrop cascading bridal bouquet in silk flowers. Unfortunately the timeline was a little too tight because of my wedding schedule, but he was completely understanding and willing to wait a few extra weeks to be able to gift his wife a custom bridal bouquet recreation in silk flowers. Backpacking with a Silk Bridal Bouquet- Part 1

You may remember this wedding I did a few months ago for a bride and her crew that were hiking into the Northwoods of Minnesota for their wedding. I thought that was such an interesting concept and was surprised again to book a job for a silk bridal bouquet and boutonniere that was also going to be backpacking to their ceremony site for an elopement. This time it was in Rocky Mountain National Park. Ashlynn wanted her bouquet to be lush and filled with color and texture for a wildflower look. We talked through her ideas, looked at inspiration photos and came up with a pretty long list of things to include. You can see from my photos that every square inch of this bouquet had something interesting in it!

Fern, Thistle, Ranunculus, Forget-Me-Nots, Roses, Daisies, Mini Daisies, Larkspur, Queen Anne’s Lace, Red berries, Columnea, Lavender Seeds, mixed Greens and the kitchen sink! Can’t you just imagine this strapped to a backpack on its way to a mountain top ceremony?

The groom’s boutonniere was a toast colored Rose bud with mini Daisies, a touch of Fern and greens and finished off with twine for a rustic look. Perfect for the great outdoors! Ashlynn wanted her bouquet wrapped in lace which I think matched really well to all the texture in her bouquet.

Royal Purple, Wisteria and White Silk Wedding Flowers - Part 1

I’ve been talking about purple flowers for quite a few years. Mainly, how there are so many shades! This wedding is a great example of incorporating multiple shades of purples in the same silk bridal bouquet!

Paige’s wedding theme was a royal purple, plum and hints of Wisteria. I showed her a variety of options of flowers and colors and we narrowed it down to royal purple Roses, Wisteria Ranunculus, Picasso Calla Lilies, White Roses, and purple Hydrangea. The bridal bouquet was a more traditional tear drop shape with royal purple ribbon to match the groom’s suit.

This bridesmaids carried round style bouquets with a mix of the same flowers. The maid of honor had a few more flowers in her bouquet and had a wisteria ribbon wrap to stand out a little.

Paige also needed a few extra arrangements to complete her wedding decor including a toss bouquet. This clutch style bouquet incorporated the same flowers and we added some ribbon tails.

The cake flowers were three clusters of royal purple roses, and purple Hydrangea. Simple, but classy!

Paige had a custom welcome sign for the entrance to their venue that she wanted a small swag for. She sent me an inspiration photo and I created a custom piece that matched the bouquets, but would sit nicely on the corner of the sign.

Moody Winter Wedding Colors in Silk Flowers

Winter can be a bright, shiny, time of year. But if that’s not the vibe you want in your silk wedding flowers for your bridal bouquet, then this post is for you! These moody winter wedding colors of navy, burgundy, gray and white were a fun mix for a January wedding. Just a hint of greenery kept it from being completely dark and jewel-toned, but we kept it minimal in order to provide just a touch of contrast.

The bridal bouquet was a mix of navy Peonies, burgundy berries and Calla Lilies, white Roses, gray Dusty Miller and Eucalyptus in a classic tear drop cascade style.

The bridesmaid and toss bouquets were mix of all the same flowers, but in a round handtied style. SIlver ribbon finished off all the arrangements to tie in more of her color scheme.

Silk Bridal Bouquet Recreation Review

To continue our reveal week of custom bridal bouquet recreation in silk flowers, this stunning tear drop cascade was a year in the making! But if you don’t have a year, don’t panic. Typically, all I need is a couple of weeks and a few photos to bring a new custom bridal bouquet recreation to life!

“There are many positive words I could use to describe Erin’s work. For brevity, though, I will stick with “Incredible”. My spouse has wanted an artificial recreation of their wedding bouquet since the day after our wedding. I figured the coinciding of our 4th anniversary (fruits and flowers) with the pandemic would be the best time to finally commission such a gift. The trouble is the original was a HUGE cascading arrangement with a lot of leafy drapery, and it’s hard to find a florist who can make convincing silk flowers in any kind of cascade arrangement without it looking, well... fake. Erin was happy to take on a challenge, and I could not believe the result of her efforts when I saw them. You could take this bouquet, photoshop it into my wedding pictures, and nobody would notice. I am beyond pleased and beyond impressed. Her services are efficient, communicative, and would be worth every penny at double or even triple the price, and I mean that quite seriously. Shipping was no problem, and the commission was finished ahead of schedule (though I ordered during the pandemic so I would not expect early completions in the future. You can’t rush ART). She was even willing to work out a payment schedule so that I could keep the order a surprise even with shared bank accounts. I intend to use and recommend Love is Blooming to everyone in need of silk flowers regardless of location.”
