What Should I Budget for Wedding Flowers?

If you’ve found yourself somewhere on my website at any time, you’ve probably had one or two questions that landed you here:

Q: How can I spend less money on wedding flowers?

A: Silk flowers (of course)

Q: What should I budget for wedding flowers?

A: I can’t really answer that without a detailed analysis of your finances, which isn’t really my business…

While that doesn’t seem exactly helpful or informative, I can tell you that what you don’t need to spend is more than you want to! Working with me involves accounting for your bridal party size, vision, style and yes, your budget. I don’t work in packages and frequently make suggestions of flower substitutions, size adjustments and whatever else we need to do to get you the arrangements you want to stay within your budget. Of course, we both need to be reasonable and realize I won’t be able to work with a couple who needs a large amount of arrangements for a very small budget. In those instances, I always suggest getting crafty and trying to DIY what you can or even purchasing bulk flowers from me that match the bouquets and finding some friends to help create your own centerpieces or decor items.

All of this budget talk is at the forefront of my mind because not too long ago, I read a few stories on Instagram where wedding budgets, and then more specifically wedding flower budgets, were discussed. I realized I was married 21 years ago and prices have gone up, but I almost fell out of my chair when I read what people are spending!

And here is the submissions for specifically wedding flowers!

Let’s just say, if you don’t have $10,000-20,000 to spend on your wedding flowers, you’re in the right place. And if you do, I’m happy for you because flowers make everything look prettier. If you love the idea of wedding flowers where you get to help design, that are budget friendly and picture perfect no matter the weather or season, the custom silk wedding flowers are a great choice! Peonies in Wedding Boutonnieres & Corsages

Briana and I worked together to find simply designed boutonnieres and corsages that were cohesive with the rest of her silk wedding flowers. Ranunculus were the perfect choice! The fullness of the flower, the round shape, and the fluffy appearance made them look as if they might be mini Peonies.

While we figured the men in the bridal party might not appreciate pink in their boutonnieres, we thought the moms would. I was able to use one of the Peony buds along with an open Ranunculus and a bud to give their corsages a punch of color and a touch of femininity.

Pink & Blue - Upgrading to Silk Wedding Flowers

When local bride Pink (yes that's her real name!) showed up for her consultation with me, the first words out of her mouth were, "I've actually decided to go with fresh flowers." Now, it doesn't Linktake a genius to figure out that a statement like that usually doesn't bode well for someone in my line of work.

I offered to show Pink my sample bouquets and the sample stems I had chosen for her and give her an on-the-spot quote for her wedding. When Pink took a look at all that Love Is Blooming has to offer -- high quality, realistic flowers, the custom design process, and affordable pricing --Pink decided then and there to order her designer wedding flowers through me.

Over several months, we exchanged emails, I adjusted her order as her wedding party changed, and she gave great feedback on how her flowers were coming together. Her blue and white wedding colors came together beautifully for her October wedding. I was able to fulfill all her requests for the little details as well as for her overall vision.

Wedding Flowers Review: Bekah and Nate

I love hearing from my brides! And as we start out the year, I thought it might be helpful for the designer silk wedding flower skeptics to hear about one couple's experience working with me.

And now a word from a fabulous bride and groom...

"Working with Love Is Blooming was the easiest part of my wedding. I simply found pictures of flowers and colors of what I was looking for for our wedding day, and Erin made them perfectly. The communication was always open and she was accommodating to what I was looking for in my flowers for our big day. When the flowers arrived I was more than pleased and the colors worked absolutely perfectly with the bridesmaids dresses and overall theme of our wedding.
"If you're in search of perfect, beautiful and AFFORDABLE wedding flowers for you wedding, accompanied with zero stress or worry over the flowers, then ask Erin to do flowers for your wedding soon! I'm so thankful to have worked with her and can't think of anyone else I would trust in doing our wedding flower arrangements. Thanks again Erin for your hard work to make our day that much more stunning :)"

Real Wedding: Amabelle Part 1

A few weeks ago, I got an email with attachments. And you know what that means, either I'm getting a virus sent to me or pretty pictures from past brides. I'm sure you can guess which one I always hope for.

Much to my relief and delight, I received some professional shots from Amabelle. You may remember me featuring her flowers in a few posts about arm bouquets, and also how budget friendly silk flowers can be.

Check out these gorgeous photos from Amabelle's very talented photographer - Richard T Yi.
