Cascade Bridal Bouquet

Custom Silk Wedding Flower Review

I shared Kelsey’s bright and bold custom silk wedding flowers back in January, and recently, Kelsey took the time to send in a review in honor of her upcoming one year anniversary. Hearing from real people with real experiences is a great way to vet a vendor for your wedding day. And of course, I’ll take any excuse to show off my awesome clients :) Let’s hear what Kelsey had to say!

Photo provided by Nick G. who is moving on from his career in photography, but I’m so grateful for his permission to share his beautiful work!

Coming up on our 1 year anniversary has me going back through all of our wedding photos. I still can’t get enough of how wonderful a job Erin did for my bridal bouquet and bridesmaids bouquets. We loved them so much that both my mom and I are using the bouquets as floral arrangements in our respective homes (another reason to go with silk!). From hearing my eclectic ideas and array of colors to making last minute changes, Erin was a dream to work with. My maid of honor got married a couple months later and made sure to use Erin, as well!

Yellow, Dusty Blue and Ivory Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

I really love today’s set of photos that I get to share with you. Zephyr’s custom silk wedding flowers were a mix of yellow, dusty blue and ivory. We had a plan for her bouquet when she placed her order and then she saw Lexi’s bridal bouquet and liked the shape and look so much that we decided to use that as the inspiration for her bouquet. Let’s take a look at the beautiful images from Photographs by Julie. And if you want, you can find her here on Facebook.

Zephyr’s bouquet was a mix of yellow Roses, blue Dogwood and Hydrangea, ivory Cabbage Roses and Anemone with ivy and greenery. Look at the train on her dress! Doesn’t she look stunning??

Erin is AMAZING! She made all of the bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres! She is the kindest most thoughtful vendor and you won’t regret it!!
— Zephyr | Pennsylvania

I’m loving the trend of dusty blue, it’s moody and classic and perfect for a variety of seasons.

Thanks again to Zephyr for sharing photos of her big day and to Photographs by Julie for her amazing photos.

Autumn Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

We are just turning the corner into fall here in Minnesota, and I thought it would be the perfect time to share Madia’s autumn themed silk wedding flowers. Her full cascading bridal bouquet was a mix of orange, burgundy, ivory and blue with a variety of greenery to fill it out. She sent me some gorgeous photos from her photographer Anita Louise Photography.

Thank you so much, I loved them!! I keep my bouquet displayed in my library.
— Madia | Ohio

Madia had a lot of texture to her bouquets that made them really interesting up close but also high impact from a distance.

Cabernet, Blush, and Cream Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Bride Stephanie was a dream to work with last year and she was kind enough to send me some images from her big day! Let’s take a look at these photos of her custom silk bridal bouquet from Marquee Studio.

Stephanie’s bouquet was a mix of blush and wine Peonies, pinkish burgundy Dahlia, cream Dahlia and lots of Eucalyptus and Lamb’s Ear. It was a modified cascade style bouquet that was full, but not overpowering.

I love this picture of the guys! They are holding the bridesmaid bouquets that were the same mix as the bridal bouquet, just in smaller handtied style bouquets.

A very delayed review from our winter wedding because I’ve been so overwhelmed by how beautifully everything turned out and I couldn’t pick favorite photos! Erin was an absolute pleasure to work with. It was the best of both worlds - getting to lean on the expertise of a florist, with the longevity and lower stress (and less price fluctuation) of faux florals. She did an amazing job matching the bridesmaids dress color (azazie cabernet), and suggesting alternate colors for the groomsmen boutonnieres when we didn’t want to use all white flowers. Flowers arrived early and shipped well! Would absolutely recommend!
— Stephanie | New Jersey

I love the look of joy on Stephanie’s face here! Thanks again to another wonderful client and for the photos from Marquee Studio.

Blush and White Tropical Destination Wedding Bridal Bouquet - Reveal and Review

Heather reached out to me with a few inspiration photos and a truly blushing bride color palette for her destination wedding. Her vibe was beachy, romantic, soft and a touch of glamour. She requested that the bouquet was small to make travel easier, but she didn’t want to loose any drama. I sent a few flower ideas and got to work on a custom bridal bouquet in silk wedding flowers.

I went with an asymmetrical design for the shape with a more subtle draping to the bouquet. I incorporated white and nude pink Garden Roses, white Baby’s Breath, white Phalaenopsis Orchids and blush pink Anthurium.

So happy I found Love Is Blooming to create my custom silk bouquet!

Erin was great. She worked with my (many) inspo pictures to pick out all of the flowers and other elements that I wanted. She also helped me pick out the right size and shape since I would be flying with my bouquet and was worried about how to transport something more traditional.

She was super responsive and provided several updates to the status of my bouquet and asked for feedback before shipping (I didn’t have any as her creation was perfect and more than everything I envisioned).

Erin truly made something that could have been very stressful so easy and I would recommend her business to anyone!

White and Pink Bridal Bouquet Recreation - Reveal and Review

Kaitlin’s bridal bouquet was a show stopper. To recreate it, I needed to duplicate the same drama! Her bouquet was a mix of pink Roses, pink Dendrobium orchids, white Calla Lilies, Fern, Seeds, Pittosporum and Ruscus in a long tear drop cascade style bouquet. Let’s take a look at the side-by-side to see how the recreation in silk wedding flowers turned out!

Thanks to Stark Studio for the lovely images from Katilin’s big day!

I absolutely love my recreation! I love flowers and was so sad to part with them after my wedding day. Now I’m able to feel those memories again each time I look at them. Erin did a fabulous job making my bouquet look just like the real one did on my wedding day! This was a first anniversary gift for me and I couldn’t have asked for something better!

Coral and Teal Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal

Courtney reached out to me about creating custom silk wedding flowers with a slightly tropical vibe. Her colors were coral and teal and I used some sandier/taupe tones mixed in with white roses and greenery. Let’s take a look at some lovely images from Monica Mize Photography!

Courtney picked out a teardrop cascade shape for her bouquet. We filled it with Roses, Peonies, Ranunculus, mini Orchids, Seeded Eucalyptus and a spiky Succulent. It kind of reminded me of a Sea Anemone and was the perfect mix of mauve/peach for her bouquet!

What a great looking group! Courtney’s bridesmaids carried round handtied bouquets that were mostly coral and white with a pop of teal with a large Peony in the center. It kept everything cohesive and looked perfect with their dresses. Courtney also had a maid of honor wearing a dustier pink dress. At first we only had brighter coral flowers mixed in with the white and teal but then decided to add a more muted tone with some Toast Roses and it really helped blend Courtney’s bouquet with both color of bridesmaid dresses.

Courtney wanted all three colors incorporated into the boutonnieres so we used a white rose bud as the base with a few small coral orchids and a touch of teal accent flowers. Everyone matched!

Do you have a tropical themed wedding planned but it’s a little different than the usual pinks, yellows, oranges? I’d love to talk with you about your ideas! Fill out the Free Bride’s Checklist for a quote!

I’ve got three lovely bridal bouquet recreations in silk flowers to share with you this week! Today I’m sharing a beautiful cascading bridal bouquet recreation. Kelly contacted me to have her own bouquet recreated along with her husband’s boutonniere. I loved the idea of doing both pieces, so I got to work! Kelly’s bouquet was a mix of pink and white Roses, white Lilies, yellow Heather, and navy Thistle. The boutonniere was a white rose with some greenery and a thistle bud.

Let’s compare the recreation (left) to the original bouquet (right).

My daughter was finishing her senior year of college and really had no idea of flower design other than she wanted fake flowers. I was disappointed she wasn’t going for real ones, but I started researching for her and came across Erin’s site, Love is Blooming. After looking at ideas for color and style, I sent the ideas to my daughter to choose what she liked. Then I contacted Erin and shared with her Hannah’s choices. Erin was very friendly and so easy to work with her. The finished product was so beyond what I had expected, and I was beyond thrilled at the gorgeous results. From the boutonnières to the wrist corsages to the bouquets for the bridal party, every one of them looked real and so very beautiful that I was brought to tears. I highly recommend Erin and her high quality of work You will not be disappointed.

Burgundy, Blush, and Navy Silk Wedding Flowers

Last week, I shared with you Jenna’s wedding flowers, coordinated by her sister Emily. This week, I want to share with you Hannah’s wedding flowers, coordinated by her mother Deborah. I seriously work with the nicest people, and Deborah is right at the top of the list. She provided me with inspiration photos for her bridal bouquet, feedback from Hannah, and coordinated delivery. Deborah was a great communicator and made my job so easy! Let’s take a look at Hannah’s custom silk wedding flowers!

The bridal bouquet was a teardrop cascade style of burgundy Peonies and Mums, blush Garden and Tea Roses, white Baby’s Breath, preserved burgundy Pine sprigs, green Seeds and Seeded Eucalyptus with burgundy ribbon wrap and blush pink ribbon tails.

My daughter was finishing her senior year of college and really had no idea of flower design other than she wanted fake flowers. I was disappointed she wasn’t going for real ones, but I started researching for her and came across Erin’s site, Love is Blooming. The bridesmaid bouquets were a round handtied style with a different mix of flowers. It included blue Tea Roses, a navy Ranunculus, burgundy Thistle, Blueberries, white Ranunculus, burgundy Roses and Mums, Seeded Eucalyptus, burgundy Preserved Pine, and Lamb’s Ear. I love how the mix of flowers is so different from the bridal bouquet, and yet they go together perfectly!

Deborah decided to add on a few more items later including this cute little toss bouquet. I chose a few of the flowers from the bridal bouquet to mix together for a clutch size toss bouquet.

Moody Purple Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Last week I showed you Felicia’s beautiful wedding flowers in multiple shades of purple. This week I get to share with you Morgan’s moody purple silk wedding flowers. Let’s take a look at some photos from Ivy and Ink Photography from her lovely wedding day!

Morgan’s cascading bridal bouquet was a mix of white Garden Roses, lavender Garden Roses, plum Tea Roses, purple Heather, and Lamb’s Ear.

The bridesmaids carried the same mix of flowers in round handtied style bridesmaid bouquets. I was so pleased that the plum tea Roses matched their dresses to perfectly!

I got so many compliments on the flowers for the wedding! I can’t thank you enough for them!
— Morgan | Missouri

Morgan wanted matching centerpieces but didn’t want to budget for full finished arrangements. She had the great idea to buy bulk amounts of Roses and Baby’s Breath to make her own centerpieces. They added the perfect amount of floral touch to her reception and she did a great job arranging them herself!

I wanted to share Morgan’s cake with you as a great example of how to add just a touch of florals to your cake, without going over board. The rustic look of her cake and cake stand, along with that custom topper IS the feature. Adding a big floral piece really would have taken away from those unique elements. I think this was a great decision to add just a few flowers around the base of the cake to incorporate the them and colors without it being all about the flowers.

Here’s one last breathtaking shot of Morgan from the talented Ivy and Ink Photography.

Lavender, Blush and Dusty Blue Silk Wedding Flowers-Reveal and Review

I’ve known Lexi and her family for about 18 years and my husband’s family has known them even longer. I felt incredibly honored to be asked to do silk wedding flowers and her bridal bouquet for her and Austin’s August wedding. Their color scheme was lavender, blush, dusty blue and ivory with pops of greenery. I went a little overboard with sharing their photos, but you’ll see really quickly why. These amazing images, provided by Cameron and Tia, were so fun to scroll through! Check them out if you are in the Minneapolis area!

Here’s our lovely couple Lexi and Austin, and they are clearly in love!

Lexi’s bridal bouquet was a mix of lavender Cabbage Roses, blush Peonies, purple Lilac, Baby’s Breath, ivory Roses, Lavender greenery, dusty blue Thistle and Eucalyptus in a teardrop cascade style bouquet. This bouquet was extra special because Lexi was able to give me a piece from her Mom’s and Grandma’s wedding dresses to wrap the handle of her bouquet.

The bridesmaid bouquets were round handtied style with the same flowers as the bridal bouquet. Lexi also ordered some small, loose flowers for her stylist to put in, the day of the wedding.

The wedding and reception took place at Hidden Meadow and Barn in Pepin, Wisconsin. The ceremony site had this amazing and huge arch. I created 2 large swags and a smaller piece to match the scale of the structure.

Erin was so amazing to work with! I had no idea what I was doing, but she made sure I had all the details necessary for my wedding flowers to make my wedding absolutely beautiful! She had great communication throughout the entire wedding planning process and listened to any feedback I had about my flowers to make sure they were exactly what I wanted. Thank you Erin!
— Alexi | Wisconsin

The arch pieces did double-duty the day of the wedding and after the ceremony were moved to the reception area to decorate this beautiful fireplace.

Lexi didn’t shy away from a little DIY project. She sourced the garlands and vases for the tables and ordered loose stems from me so the whole look was cohesive.

I love this shot of their elegant cake with a custom topper. For this design, Lexi ordered loose flowers to be placed on the cake by the baker. I handed them over to, none other than my Mother-in-Law, designer and baker of this delicious and beautiful wedding cake. If you are in the Minneapolis area, be sure and check out Cakes For Your Occasions. Trust me when I say that every flavor and frosting is delicious, because you know I’ve tried them all;)

Backpacking with a Silk Bridal Bouquet - Part 2 Reveal

Ashlynn was so easy to work with and her easygoing personality is evident in their wedding photos with her silk bridal bouquet. She shared with me that it rained the day of the wedding, but they “worked with it.” And I have to say the muddy hemline of her dress sure makes for some dramatic and artsy wedding photos. Take a look at these beautiful images from her photographers Jess and Austin Drawhorn who specialize in Colorado elopements. If you are considering an adventure like that, check them out!

Erin did a fantastic job designing my bridal bouquet. I could not have been happier with the result! Erin pays attention to detail and was a good communicator throughout the entire process. This bouquet traveled with me all the way to Colorado, on a 5.5 mile hike, and all the way back to Minnesota and it still looks perfect! Thank you Erin at Love Is Blooming for making my vision come to life!

Backpacking with a Silk Bridal Bouquet- Part 1

You may remember this wedding I did a few months ago for a bride and her crew that were hiking into the Northwoods of Minnesota for their wedding. I thought that was such an interesting concept and was surprised again to book a job for a silk bridal bouquet and boutonniere that was also going to be backpacking to their ceremony site for an elopement. This time it was in Rocky Mountain National Park. Ashlynn wanted her bouquet to be lush and filled with color and texture for a wildflower look. We talked through her ideas, looked at inspiration photos and came up with a pretty long list of things to include. You can see from my photos that every square inch of this bouquet had something interesting in it!

Fern, Thistle, Ranunculus, Forget-Me-Nots, Roses, Daisies, Mini Daisies, Larkspur, Queen Anne’s Lace, Red berries, Columnea, Lavender Seeds, mixed Greens and the kitchen sink! Can’t you just imagine this strapped to a backpack on its way to a mountain top ceremony?

The groom’s boutonniere was a toast colored Rose bud with mini Daisies, a touch of Fern and greens and finished off with twine for a rustic look. Perfect for the great outdoors! Ashlynn wanted her bouquet wrapped in lace which I think matched really well to all the texture in her bouquet.

Royal Purple, Wisteria and White Silk Wedding Flowers - Part 1

I’ve been talking about purple flowers for quite a few years. Mainly, how there are so many shades! This wedding is a great example of incorporating multiple shades of purples in the same silk bridal bouquet!

Paige’s wedding theme was a royal purple, plum and hints of Wisteria. I showed her a variety of options of flowers and colors and we narrowed it down to royal purple Roses, Wisteria Ranunculus, Picasso Calla Lilies, White Roses, and purple Hydrangea. The bridal bouquet was a more traditional tear drop shape with royal purple ribbon to match the groom’s suit.

This bridesmaids carried round style bouquets with a mix of the same flowers. The maid of honor had a few more flowers in her bouquet and had a wisteria ribbon wrap to stand out a little.

Paige also needed a few extra arrangements to complete her wedding decor including a toss bouquet. This clutch style bouquet incorporated the same flowers and we added some ribbon tails.

The cake flowers were three clusters of royal purple roses, and purple Hydrangea. Simple, but classy!

Paige had a custom welcome sign for the entrance to their venue that she wanted a small swag for. She sent me an inspiration photo and I created a custom piece that matched the bouquets, but would sit nicely on the corner of the sign.

Check back in a few days to see the reveal of Paige’s wedding day and her review of working with me!

Moody Winter Wedding Colors in Silk Flowers

Winter can be a bright, shiny, time of year. But if that’s not the vibe you want in your silk wedding flowers for your bridal bouquet, then this post is for you! These moody winter wedding colors of navy, burgundy, gray and white were a fun mix for a January wedding. Just a hint of greenery kept it from being completely dark and jewel-toned, but we kept it minimal in order to provide just a touch of contrast.

The bridal bouquet was a mix of navy Peonies, burgundy berries and Calla Lilies, white Roses, gray Dusty Miller and Eucalyptus in a classic tear drop cascade style.

The bridesmaid and toss bouquets were mix of all the same flowers, but in a round handtied style. SIlver ribbon finished off all the arrangements to tie in more of her color scheme.

Silk Bridal Bouquet Recreation Review

To continue our reveal week of custom bridal bouquet recreation in silk flowers, this stunning tear drop cascade was a year in the making! But if you don’t have a year, don’t panic. Typically, all I need is a couple of weeks and a few photos to bring a new custom bridal bouquet recreation to life!

Thanks to some photos from https://studiotwelve52.com/ provided by Wes, I was able to see all the details and flowers included in this gorgeous bouquet. But compare for yourself and let me know how I did!

silk-bridal-bouquet-recreation-custom-wedding-flowers
There are many positive words I could use to describe Erin’s work. For brevity, though, I will stick with “Incredible”. My spouse has wanted an artificial recreation of their wedding bouquet since the day after our wedding. I figured the coinciding of our 4th anniversary (fruits and flowers) with the pandemic would be the best time to finally commission such a gift. The trouble is the original was a HUGE cascading arrangement with a lot of leafy drapery, and it’s hard to find a florist who can make convincing silk flowers in any kind of cascade arrangement without it looking, well... fake. Erin was happy to take on a challenge, and I could not believe the result of her efforts when I saw them. You could take this bouquet, photoshop it into my wedding pictures, and nobody would notice. I am beyond pleased and beyond impressed. Her services are efficient, communicative, and would be worth every penny at double or even triple the price, and I mean that quite seriously. Shipping was no problem, and the commission was finished ahead of schedule (though I ordered during the pandemic so I would not expect early completions in the future. You can’t rush ART). She was even willing to work out a payment schedule so that I could keep the order a surprise even with shared bank accounts. I intend to use and recommend Love is Blooming to everyone in need of silk flowers regardless of location.

Navy, Burgundy and Bling Winter Silk Wedding Flowers- Part 1

Over the last 18 months, I’ve worked with a record number of moms and sisters to design and create the perfect wedding flower bouquets for their daughter/sister. I love that picking out flowers has become a family event for so many! Tori’s silk flowers were a great example of the design process being completed second-hand, so to speak. Her mom, Tracey, was a great communicator and was quick to pass along Tori’s feedback of my design ideas and ultimately of the silk wedding flower arrangements themselves. Let’s take a look at what we designed together!

The bridal bouquet was a modified cascade style. At first glance you may be thinking, that’s clearly the tear drop style. And you are right! Sort of;) I designed this bouquet to look good from any angle so that if she wanted to hold it straight on, it would be a tear drop cascade. Or if she wanted to show off the rhinestone wrap on the handle, it could be held so that the cascade went to the side.

The design for her bouquet included deep hues of burgundy, navy, white and silver. I wanted to incorporate various textures for this winter wedding, keeping it soft, but interesting. I used burgundy Cabbage Roses, Calla Lilies, Amaranthus and Lamb’s Ear, navy Ranunculus, white Roses and Baby’s Breath along with gray Dusty Miller and dusty green Seeded Eucalyptus for her greenery. Tracey thought Tori would like some bling, so I sprinkled both small broaches and clear crystals throughout her bouquet.

The bridesmaids carried matching bouquets with the same mix of flowers, but in loose handtied style round bouquets. I even add just a * touch * of cascading Amaranthus to theirs to give it a little something different than a typical round style bridesmaid bouquet.

Check back later this week to see the reveal of Tori’s flowers!

And I know it’s only June, but winter weddings are just around the corner. If you are planning a winter wedding, now is the time to plan and order your custom silk wedding flowers. Fill out the Free Bride’s Checklist to get started!

Navy, Purple, and Plum Custom Silk Wedding Flowers

This was a new-to-me color combination, and I was all for it! Plum, purple and navy; moody, deep, complicated, simple, romantic, vibrant, striking…I could keep going, but let’s just get to the pictures. The silk bridal bouquet was a mix of navy and purple Calla Lilies, plum Tea Roses, navy Ranunculus, mini purple Tiger Lilies and Silver Dollar Eucalyptus in a modified cascade style.

We simplified the bridesmaid bouquets with just some plum Tea Roses, navy and purple Calla Lilies and just a touch of Eucalyptus.

The toss bouquet usually reflects the bridal bouquet in some way. This clutch style bouquet had the same flowers as the bridal bouquet, including the mini purple Tiger Lilies and navy Ranunculus. We added a little to it with some satin ribbon tails in navy.

The boutonnieres had a classic look with a single Calla and greens and a Ranunculus bud for the groom’s boutonniere.

These hair pieces were added a little later. The larger piece was for the bride and incorporated all her colors. The smaller style was for the bridesmaids and just had a hint of plum with the greenery.

And let’s not forget the flower girl! This cute flower crown was a base of baby’s breath with some plum flower blossoms for a dainty, but matching look.
