Silk Champagne and Ivory Bridal Bouquet and Altar Arrangement

Rachel contacted me about flowers for her upcoming private wedding ceremony. She was not completely settled on a style, so I sent her to my blog to poke around and look at different bouquet designs. She loved the look of this lavender, plum and ivory bouquet and the color palette of this champagne and ivory bouquet. Because everything I create is custom, this was no problem at all. Rachel got a mashup of these two bouquets for a stylish and beautiful cascading bridal bouquet in silk flowers.

I custom dyed the Dahlia to have a champagne center to match the champagne Peonies and Heather. I added in some ivory Roses, white Baby’s breath and finished it off with some Lamb’s ear for a softer touch of greenery. And literally this Lamb’s ear is so soft! It adds such a romantic texture to any bouquet!

I made a matching groom’s boutonniere with an ivory Rose bud, a small sprig of Heather and lamb’s ear tied with matching ribbon. Her father’s boutonniere was a simple Rose bud and Lamb’s ear. So classic!

Rachel sent me a few photos of the altar set up at her church. Even though this would be a small private ceremony, she still wanted to add a custom altar arrangement that would match her bouquet. This two piece arrangement consists of a swag and a garland. By making it as separate pieces, she can configure this however she likes when she gets there. Made to either hang or lay down, the swag looks seamless with the garland. And it will be sure to bring some color and warmth to her ceremony.

Wisteria, Lavender and Ivory Silk Wedding Flowers

Sometimes a picture says it all. Take a look at Kate’s custom silk wedding flowers in wisteria, lavender and ivory.

Composed of ivory and lavender Peonies, wisteria Tea Roses, Lavender and Lamb’s ear, Kate’s bridal bouquet was just so darn romantic. The handtied style is classic and will always look great no matter the year or the season!

The bridesmaids will carry bouquets similar to Kate’s but scaled back in size. They were tied off with matching Antique White satin ribbon.

I found these sweet little mini Peonies that were just perfect for the boutonnieres and corsages.

Groom’s boutonniere with a mini ivory Peony, Lavender, Waxflower and Lamb’s ear. The groomsmen and father’s boutonnieres had a mini Peony, Lavender and Lamb’s ear.

The mothers’ pin on corsages matched the guys with a couple mini ivory Peonies, Lavender, a small wisteria flower bud, Lamb’s ear, ribbon and small spray of rhinestones. Charming!

Wild Wedding Flowers Part I: Incorporating Lots of Greenery

Callie’s custom silk wedding flowers have an element of wildness that I love! She requested lots of greenery, a handful of flowers and liked the idea of bouquets with a looser composition. The modified cascade was a perfect fit for her bridal bouquet.

This custom silk bridal bouquet consists of Dahlia, Ranunculus, white Heather, blue Thistle, seeded Eucalyptus and Silver Dollar Eucalyptus. We started out with the stems completely wrapped but after a second look Callie wanted some of the stems showing. Take a look at the finished product!

For the bridesmaids, we scaled back the size, adjusted the shape so it wasn’t quite as cascading, and took out the Thistle. We left that as a special feature in the bridal bouquet and the groom’s boutonniere.

Callie needed some matching boutonnieres and corsages for the bridal party and parents.

Groom and groomsmen boutonnieres.

Mothers’ wrist corsages, fathers’ boutonnieres and ring bearer’s boutonniere.

This cute little hair piece was a mix of greenery, blue seeds, and ranunculus.

Check back later this week to see some more custom arrangements to match her wild wedding flowers- altar arrangement and aisle arrangements doing double duty. Can you say budget friendly?!

Dusty Blue and Ivory Silk Bridal Bouquet and Maid of Honor Bouquet

Small weddings are all the rage right now. Whether that’s a result of Covid-19 or couples reevaluating what they want their dream wedding to be like, I’m doing more and more custom silk bridal bouquets for weddings with just one or two bridesmaids, or none at all! And since things are changing left and right for what can be celebrated and when, there has never been a better time to order flowers that DON’T DIE! I’ve already been able to help out several couples who’s wedding plans had to change and the best part is that they still get beautiful flowers, whenever their wedding ends up happening.

Kayla emailed me looking for her bouquet and a matching one for her Maid of Honor. She had a few inspiration photos and with a little input from me we came up with this bright and light design.

The bridal bouquet consisted of blue Hydrangea, ivory Roses and Calla Lilies, and greens. Kayla wanted to include some bling, so I added individual rhinestones into the bouquet and tied it off with silver ribbon.

I ordered my bridal and maid of honor bouquet after dealing with so many florists. I decided to go with Love is Blooming and holy cow they came out amazing! Erin did an amazing job, she kept me informed, and gave me ideas on what would look good and what wouldn’t. I am so beyond happy with how they turned out.

The matching Maid of Honor bouquet was a smaller version of Kayla’s bridal bouquet, down to the rhinestones and ribbon.

Destination Wedding Flower Bridal Bouquet Recreation

Matt contacted me for help with a custom bridal bouquet recreation for his May anniversary. He and his wife were married on the beach at Captiva Island, Florida. From the awesome photos he sent me, it was a beautiful ceremony. If you are looking for a talented photographer, check out Beneath The Oaks Photography for your big day.

Now let’s take a look this awesome bouquet of wedding flowers. This round, hand tied bouquet featured ivory Roses and Hydrangea, custom dyed Calla Lilies in navy and teal and Spray Roses in a matching teal. When you are dealing with recreating a bouquet like this, the goal is to match the colors as closely as possible. I think I did pretty good with this custom dye job!

I reached out to Erin to see if she could recreate my wife’s wedding bouquet for our 2nd anniversary. After a few emails and pictures, she had everything she needed. A few weeks later she sent me images that were a dead on ringer for my wife’s wedding bouquet. Fast forward to our anniversary and my wife absolutely loved the gift and still can’t believe how close it looks to the original. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a bouquet!
— Matt | Ohio

The above photo is one I sent to Matt when I had the bouquet finished up. He loved it but mentioned that another photo of the original bouquet, from a different angle, showed more greenery than I could see. This right here folks, is why silk flowers are awesome. Whether it’s a recreation or your actual wedding flowers, getting to see them ahead of time means you can make those little tweaks that make the difference. After receiving Matt’s feedback, I was able to add some more greens in to the back of the bouquet around the bottom. The below photo shows the edits of the final design. When it comes to anniversary gifts, it’s important to me to get it right, those details really do matter!

Matt was kind enough to send this photo to me to demonstrate that despite attempting to dry out his wife’s gorgeous original bouquet, it didn’t look as pretty as they’d hoped. And that’s where I got to help out.

Fairy Tale Themed Silk Bridal Bouquet

When you hear about Fairy Tale Themed weddings, you might think, but where do they get the friendly woodland creatures to surround them on their magical day?? Ok, so maybe that’s just what I think of ;) How about a wedding held outdoors at the very unique Minnesota Rennaissance Festival for that dreamy, fairy tale wedding? That is where bride Sarah is headed later this summer for her enchanting ceremony with these silk wedding flowers.

This awesomely big bouquet was filled with a variety of textures and colors. It incorporated ivory Roses, lavender Cabbage Roses, plum Peonies, Lavender sprigs, lavender and wisteria Heather, lavender Hydrangea, Ivy and Eucalyptus.

Sarah liked the idea of wrapping the handle with two different colors of ribbon. I used a classic ballet tie with an Antique White base with Lavender satin criss-crossed over the top. It felt like the beginnings of a bouquet fit for royalty, but adding in a bunch of ribbon streamers seemed like the perfect way to make a bouquet fit for a princess.

Custom Cascading Silk Bridal Bouquet

I hereby declare 2020 the year of the Cascading Bridal Bouquet! I mean, I don’t have a gold trimmed certificate for my declaration, but I’ve received enough orders for cascading bouquets this year (and last year) to make such a declaration. And to be clear, cascading bridal bouquets never went out of style. While round bouquets came on strong in the early 2000’s and beyond, I have seen a resurgence in the popularity of the cascade.

Here’s another take on this classic tear drop style bouquet in silk wedding flowers. Mary wanted a red, burgundy and blush pink bouquet to match her bridesmaids’ dresses and her church’s decor. We talked about a few options and settled on these pretty deep red Roses, dark burgundy Calla Lilies, lighter burgundy and ivory Calla Lillies and then some sweet Apple Blossoms in blush pink.

A hint of greenery and some Antique White satin ribbon finish off this lovely silk cascading bridal bouquet.

Mary’s bridesmaids will be wearing burgundy dresses that had some gorgeous detaisl, so we kept their bouquets simple with a clutch of burgundy and ivory Calla Lillies. I finished it off with the Antique White satin ribbon so all bouquets matched.

If you are considering a cascading style bridal bouquet, silk flowers could be the answer for you. Not only will you get to see the flowers ahead of time, you get to have input on what goes in the bouquet, the overall look and the finished size. Check out my Bridal Bouquet page to read about the different styles or check out my blog to see more examples of silk bridal bouquets in the cascading style.

Lavender, Violet, and Ivory Silk Wedding Flowers

Lavender has been another hot color this year. And what’s fun is that my brides have chosen some really pretty ways to accent the lavender. This custom silk cascading bridal bouquet is a great example of using a pastel color in a mix of wedding flowers and textures so that it doesn’t feel dated or too muted.

I used a violet Phalaenopsis Orchid along with lavender and ivory Roses with some Smilax for a pop of green. I really like how the contrast between the ivory and violet is bridged by that soft lavender.

Antique white ribbon for a bridal touch.

The matching bridesmaid bouquet was a really pretty mix of lavender Roses, a few violet Orchids and Smilax. I wrapped the handle with Rosewater ribbon which is a nice in between pink and purple shade. It was a perfect fit on for this bouquet.

The cute little toss bouquet incorporated ivory and lavender Roses and violet Orchids. I wrapped the handle in Antique White satin ribbon and added tails in Rosewater.

Elopement Bridal Bouquet with Sunflowers and Succulents

Let’s talk about elopements! The movies show it as a spur-of-the-moment decision followed by a trot to the courthouse and saying your “I do’s” in front of a judge in your best whatever you’re wearing. But does it have to be that? Can you elope with forethought? The answer is yes! Take a look at this gorgeous cascading bridal bouquet in silk flowers I made for a bride who will be eloping in a few months.

This out of state elopement, might not be 100% spontaneous, but when you want a custom bridal bouquet in silk flowers to carry on your big day, does it really matter? This bright and summer-y bouquet consisted of Sunflowers, Baby’s breath, Succulents, Silver Dollar Eucalytpus, and seeded Eucalyptus. She wanted a rustic accent, so I added a woven burlap ribbon to the handle and criss-crossed some thin white satin ribbon with a cute little bow for some charm.

If you are on the hunt for a custom bridal bouquet in silk flowers for an elopement, I’m your gal! Contact me today to find out how we can work on a custom design for your special day.

Sunflowers and Succulents in Silk Wedding Flowers

Alexandra’s modified cascading silk bridal bouquet was a little bit wild and a lot bright and sunny. This custom wedding flower design for her spring wedding incorporates Sunflowers, Succulents, Craspedia, Freesia, Mini Mums, Heather, Twigs, Smilax, Amaranthus, and Vegmo.

The silk bridesmaid bouquets included all the same flowers but in a more round style and with an asymmetrical design that incorporated one large succulent.

This smaller package of flowers included just a few boutonnieres to match. I liked the idea of not going with a traditional look of one larger flower, greens and ribbon. For the groom’s boutonniere, I used a Craspedia, mini Mums, Vegmo, Heather, and greens with a twig to match the bridal bouquet. The groomsmen's’ boutonnieres had a mini Sunflower, mini Mums, Heather and greens.

Alexandra chose to have a custom altar arrangements made to match. I decided to once again go the non-traditional route with an asymmetrical arrangement that incorporated all the same flowers and elements of the bridal bouquet including the twigs and greenery. This table spray will be an awesome accent piece for their ceremony.

Pink and White Silk Wedding Flowers with Bling

Pink, in any shade, is in style. In my 15 years of creating custom silk wedding flowers and bridal bouquets in Minneapolis area and across the country (and world), there hasn’t been a single year where I haven’t done multiple pink weddings. No purple this year, sure. No yellow in sight, no surprise there. But pink? There’s always been pink.

If you are considering pink, you can’t go wrong. And if you want to find a way for your silk wedding flowers to stand out, just add bling! Take a look these silk flower bouquets that I customized after my bride saw these flowers.

This round style silk bridal bouquet is made of Roses, Peonies, Tulips and hand wired broaches in the bouquet. I wrapped the handle with antique white ribbon before adding a layer of rhinestone wrap for some extra glam.

Bridal and Toss Bouquet

The bridesmaid bouquets matched but we decided to take out the tulips and add in Phalaenopsis Orchids as well as some individual oversized rhinestones.

Matching boutonnieres incuded Roses, Phalaenopsis Orchids and mini Peony buds. The wrist corsages were upgraded to include a pearl beaded bracelet—a keepsake the moms would get to wear after the big day was but a memory.

Cascading Silk Bridal Bouquet with Purple Flowers

Purple is an awesome color and looks fantastic in weddings of all seasons. Lighter tones look great for summer and spring and darker tones work well in fall and winter. And you really can’t go wrong by using darker and lighter tones together for silk wedding flowers and bridal bouquets. Take Wendy’s bouquet for example. Her cascading silk bridal bouquet included Peonies, Roses and Calla Lilies in shades of white and ivory along with Violets in a deeper purple and Lavender in, well, lavender. She liked the idea of some greenery in there, so we added a few varieties including Fern, Rosemary sprigs and Ficus for a very timeless look.

Wendy also needed two custom altar arrangements with silk wedding flowers for her ceremony. She already had 2 quart Mason jars she planned to use for the vases, so I created two of these matching arrangements to just drop into her jars on the big day.

Silk Bridal Bouquet Recreation in High Contrast Colors

There’s a lot going on in our world right now with COVID-19. I know of many florists who are unable to fill orders due to recommended safety precautions preventing receiving and delivering flowers. My heart goes out to small businesses across the country as well as couples who may be considering postponing their wedding until a later date. If you are in a situation where things are uncertain, but you still intend to keep the wedding planning going, contact me to find out how you can plan ahead and still have your dream wedding flowers when your big day comes around.

I’ts also never too early to think about your anniversary gift giving. There is something really eye catching about high contrast colors in a bridal bouquet and wedding flowers. This silk bridal bouquet recreation is a great example of that. My husband, Cliff, recently worked with you in recreating my wedding bouquet for our fourth wedding anniversary. Our special day was last Friday, November 8, and as expected, I was surprised and touched with this incredibly thoughtful gift. I was completely taken away, not only by the tremendous resemblance in sight, but also how remarkably similar this bouquet was in weight to the original. If I close my eyes, I can actually believe I’m holding the exact bouquet from 4 years ago! Your work and your attention to detail is extraordinary; you are so very talented! Cliff also spoke highly of your customer service and the great time and patience you took in working with him to ensure that this project turned out perfect. I personally thank you for creating this beautiful reminder of our wedding day, and for all the assistance you gave Cliff to help him make our day so special.

Roses are Red...

Roses that are red might make you think of Valentine’s Day, but they don’t have to! This bridal bouquet recreation in silk wedding flowers is a great example of how to keep it looking like a Hallmark holiday bouquet.

Corey sent me photos of his wife’s gorgeous bouquet he wanted to order to celebrate their fall anniversary. This bouquet included red garden and spray Roses, burgundy Dahlias, burgundy Ranunculus, ivory Ranunculus, white Waxflower, deep purple Scabiosa, Fern and Smilax.

Perhaps if the original bouquet had only included true red and white flowers, this bouquet would lack some depth and interest and make us think either Christmas or Valentine’s Day. Instead, the original florist incorporated some beautiful jewel tones, a variety of shades of red and burgundy and some lovely greenery to make this gorgeous bouquet.

I got a replica of my wife’s bouquet for our anniversary. Erin was amazing creating the bouquet and nailing the price and quick turn around time I had. It looks identical! Would definitely use her again and recommend to anyone!
