Custom Cake Flowers Reveal

Back in December, I shared a few photos with you of Brianna’s custom silk wedding cake flowers. These cute little clusters of Sunflowers, Roses, Baby’s Breath and greenery were nice little accents for her wedding cake. I was thrilled when Brianna sent me some photos from her wedding day of her amazing cake!

Her amazing wedding cake was created by Modern Pastry Shop in Hartford, Connecticut. (Anyone else automatically think of Gilmore Girls when they hear anything about Hartford??). If you are looking for a photographer out East, get in touch with Brianna’s photographer Xluzive. There is just so much talent in these photos!

The flowers came out more beautiful than we imagined! They looked so realistic and came out perfect! Very accommodating to our requests!

Succulents and Sunflowers in Silk Wedding Flowers

If sunflowers are your main squeeze, here’s another look for your wedding day! You may recognize this style from the original elopement bouquet I made for Katrina. It’s been one of my most popular bridal bouquets to date! You can see with these wedding flowers, we added on to the custom arrangements and included some cake flowers and some boutonnieres featuring the ever-popular succulents!

This cascading style bridal bouquet is on the verge of being a modified cascade. You can see the outline of the tear drop shape of a traditional cascading bouquet. But all that lush greenery give it’s a looser, more organic shape that works so well with the sunflowers.

We simplified the look for the bridesmaid bouquet to fit a loose round handtied style with just a single larger succulent, and few Sunflowers, Baby’s Breath and more of that lovely greenery.

Each of the boutonnieres was a different mini-Succulent with a bit of Baby’s Breath and Ecualyptus with matching Antique White Ribbon.

She wanted something really simple for her cake, so I used mini Sunflowers, Baby’s Breath and Eucalyptus for a cohesive look.

If you’ve come across a bouquet you love, don’t spend time agonizing about doing something 100% original. Send me a photo and let’s talk about ways to customize the look, like this bride did. Fill out the Free Bride’s Checklist today for a free quote!

Sunflowers and Succulents in Silk Wedding Flowers

Alexandra’s modified cascading silk bridal bouquet was a little bit wild and a lot bright and sunny. This custom wedding flower design for her spring wedding incorporates Sunflowers, Succulents, Craspedia, Freesia, Mini Mums, Heather, Twigs, Smilax, Amaranthus, and Vegmo.

The silk bridesmaid bouquets included all the same flowers but in a more round style and with an asymmetrical design that incorporated one large succulent.

This smaller package of flowers included just a few boutonnieres to match. I liked the idea of not going with a traditional look of one larger flower, greens and ribbon. For the groom’s boutonniere, I used a Craspedia, mini Mums, Vegmo, Heather, and greens with a twig to match the bridal bouquet. The groomsmen's’ boutonnieres had a mini Sunflower, mini Mums, Heather and greens.

Alexandra chose to have a custom altar arrangements made to match. I decided to once again go the non-traditional route with an asymmetrical arrangement that incorporated all the same flowers and elements of the bridal bouquet including the twigs and greenery. This table spray will be an awesome accent piece for their ceremony.
