Jewel Toned Summer Silk Wedding Flowers- Review and Reveal

I love, love, loved doing these wedding flowers! Bride Catherine gave me her color palette and her permission to get creative with her bouquets, and her arrangements turned out stunning. These jewel toned summer silk wedding flowers were a mix of moody and bright colors with texture and greens for a unique look that worked for her summer wedding.

A huge thanks to these amazing images from their photographer Precious Pics!

Catherine’s handtied style round bridal bouquet was a mix of plum Tea Roses, navy Delphinium, yellow Ranunculus, orange Hydrangea, plum Poppies, orange Ranunculus, burgundy Roses, dusty pink Peonies, Blueberries and mixed greenery.

The bridesmaids carried clutch size bouquets with just a few of the flowers from the bridal bouquet, but in the same loose handtied style. All the bouquets were finished off with burlap wrap on the stems.

I can’t say enough positive things about Love is Blooming. I had always loved the idea of a bold, jewel tone colored bouquet. However the quotes from local florists were wayyy out of our budget. I had almost given up when I came across Love is is Blooming. Erin was very responsive and did such good job listening to what I wanted while also adding in her own experience. The end result was exactly what I had been looking for at a fraction of the cost of a florist. She was even able to create a matching dog collar! I loved that I was able to get picture updates and make any adjustments before getting them and it was one less thing to have to worry about on the big day! Everyone, both guests and venue staff, at the wedding were shocked when they realized they were fake flowers as no one could tell until they were up close. Plus, my bridesmaids were so happy to be able to keep their flowers after the wedding. I am so incredibly grateful and highly recommend Love is Blooming to anyone looking for wedding flowers.
— Catherine | Maryland

The groom’s boutonniere was a burgundy Rose, yellow Ranunculus, a bit of Hydrangea, Blueberries and matching greenery with a twine wrap on the stems.

Catherine had a lot of loved ones surrounding her on her big day and they all had a custom silk flower wedding arrangement. Even her precious pup got a custom silk flower dog collar to wear during the celebration.

Are jewel tones your jam? Love the moodier colors but getting married in the spring or summer? Let’s talk!

Red and Ivory Silk Bridal Bouquet Recreation

Becky contacted me about recreating her beautiful bridal bouquet of ivory Tulips, Baby’s Breath and baby red Roses. This full and luscious bouquet had a lot of greenery and was quite large. The best part about this kind of work is that I can customize your recreation any way you want! Becky wanted to display it in her living room in a vase next to one of their wedding photographs. I came up with a plan to reduce the overall size of the bouquet but only by a small amount so that it wasn’t too large for what she had in mind.

Photos of the original bouquet are by the very talented Brian Anthony Photography. Check him out if you are in the Greensboro area!

My bouquet is absolutely beautiful. Having the recreation takes the sting away that the beautiful flowers I had on my wedding day are long gone. I highly recommend Erin to recreate your bouquet!
— Becky | North Carolina
custom-bridal-bouquet-recreation-wedding-flowers-anniversary-gift

One of the things Becky loved about her bouquet was the ivory ribbon wrap and the long tails. Since she is displaying this on a table top, I cut them a bit shorter than the original, but kept the same notched detail on the ends of the tails. It looks so classy!

If you have an idea for displaying a recreation of your bridal bouquet but aren’t sure how to customize it, contact me to talk through some ideas!

Inspiration Photos and Silk Wedding Flowers

Kendra is a local bride who reached out to me to bring her dream bouquet to life. She sent me an inspiration photo of a big, bold, beautiful bouquet. In her attempt to have a recreation made of the bouquet, she had found a seller on Etsy who said she was able to recreate the look. Unfortunately, the bouquet was undersized, the colors and greenery were off, and she just didn’t love it. Kendra had also talked to the actual florist of her inspiration bouquet who was willing to come do her flowers, but it was going to cost her thousands of dollars to fly her here and cover her accommodations, car rental, material and time.

And then she found me :) I sent her some flower and greenery options, we talked through the shape of the silk bouquet, I custom dyed some Dahlias to be just the right shade of burgundy, and what we came up with together was…well I’ll let her tell you in her own words:

HIGHLY recommend Love is Blooming! I had attempted to work with two different florists to recreate a bouquet from a picture I found on Pinterest, that I absolutely loved! Neither were able to create anything even remotely similar to the picture, and I thought I was going to have to give up on my vision. But then I found Erin at Love is Blooming, and she went above and beyond to create a gorgeous bouquet for myself, as well as beautiful matching bouquets for my bridal party! She provided great communication throughout her entire creation process and I couldn’t be happier with how they all turned out!
— Kendra | Minnesota

Kendra’s bridal bouquet was a very lush mix of white Roses, large burgundy Dahlia, dusty blue Thistle, Fern, Heart Eucalyptus, Seeded Eucalypts and Ruscus in a modified cascade style bouquet. We finished it off with some burlap to complement the rustic style of their wedding.

The bridesmaid bouquets and junior bridesmaid bouquet were a mix of all the same flowers and greens but in smaller handtied style bouquets.

I’m always so grateful when brides trust me to design their custom silk wedding flowers. I loved these bouquets a little more than usual because I knew how much they meant to Kendra.

Do you have an inspiration photo that you just can’t get out of your head? Send it to me to talk through the possibilities!

Silk Bridesmaid Bouquets in White and Blush

These cute little clutch bridesmaid bouquets came from a local bride who was keeping things simple. She was doing a fresh flower bouquet for herself, but wanted silk bridesmaid bouquets. She sent me inspiration photo, I sent some suggestions back to her and VOILA!

Her colors were white and blush, so used a single blush rose and white roses along with some Seeded and Silver Dollar Eucalyptus. Her original inspiration photo didn’t have it, but I thought they needed a little texture so had suggested some smaller mixed greens and blush seeds to give it depth and interest.

Whether you need just a single bouquet or alllllll the flowers, silk wedding flowers are a great option. You get custom designs and high end looks without the high end price. Fill out the Free Bride’s Checklist today to get a free quote!

I got married in June and knew I didn’t want real flowers, so as I was doing a little research, I stumbled upon Erin and her website.

I quickly knew this is exactly who I wanted to work with! She took everything I wanted and made it more than I could have ever imagined.

I will forever recommend Erin and her flowers to everyone who is planning a wedding!

Dusty Rose, Cream and Green Silk Wedding Flowers- Part 1

Dusty Rose might be the star of 2021 for bridal bouquets. It’s one of those colors that is soft, romantic, and a little out of the ordinary so it really stands out! Kourtney’s flowers are a great example of incorporating dusty rose into your silk wedding flowers as an accent and feature.

Kourtney’s bridal bouquet was a mix of custom dyed Roses in dusty Rose, ivory Garden Roses, ivory Cabbage Roses, white seeds, Fern and lots of Eucalyptus in a modified cascade style. Big and beautiful, this bouquet was a show-stopper!

The bridesmaid dresses were a shade of dusty rose, so Kourtney requested that their bouquets be a mix of cream and green. These simple style bouquets would allow Kourtney’s bouquet to stand out even more and for the bridesmaid dresses to be a great accent to the bridal bouquet as well. The flower girls had their own sweet mini bouquets of a single cabbage Rose and greenery.

Kourtney included a few custom honorary arrangements to honor family members who had passed away. These bouquet style arrangements are designed to be able to drop into vases that Kourtney purchased on her own. I wrapped them with a green ribbon so that if the vases were clear, the ribbon would blend in nicely with the stems.

The boutonnieres and corsages were a mix of cream flowers and a few dusty rose colored flowers mixed in. But all were simple and classic styles. These photos are to show how all the personal flowers come labeled, so that whoever is handing them out or doing the pinning knows who they are for.

Erin was so easy to work with while planning my wedding! She was so professional, kind, and responsive to both me and my wedding coordinator. She worked with us sending pictures and making changes/applying feedback that we gave her to ensure she was able to create the flowers that I had envisioned for my special day. We reached out to Erin just a few months before my wedding day and she had everything (bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, cake flowers, and welcome sign flowers) at my doorstep a month before my wedding day. I strongly recommend Love is Blooming, you won’t be disappointed!

Royal Purple, Wisteria and White Silk Wedding Flowers - Part 1

I’ve been talking about purple flowers for quite a few years. Mainly, how there are so many shades! This wedding is a great example of incorporating multiple shades of purples in the same silk bridal bouquet!

Paige’s wedding theme was a royal purple, plum and hints of Wisteria. I showed her a variety of options of flowers and colors and we narrowed it down to royal purple Roses, Wisteria Ranunculus, Picasso Calla Lilies, White Roses, and purple Hydrangea. The bridal bouquet was a more traditional tear drop shape with royal purple ribbon to match the groom’s suit.

This bridesmaids carried round style bouquets with a mix of the same flowers. The maid of honor had a few more flowers in her bouquet and had a wisteria ribbon wrap to stand out a little.

Paige also needed a few extra arrangements to complete her wedding decor including a toss bouquet. This clutch style bouquet incorporated the same flowers and we added some ribbon tails.

The cake flowers were three clusters of royal purple roses, and purple Hydrangea. Simple, but classy!

Paige had a custom welcome sign for the entrance to their venue that she wanted a small swag for. She sent me an inspiration photo and I created a custom piece that matched the bouquets, but would sit nicely on the corner of the sign.

Check back in a few days to see the reveal of Paige’s wedding day and her review of working with me!

Black, White and Blush Silk Wedding Flower- Part 2 Reveal & Review!

It’s reveal day! And you know what that means… My amateur photos from earlier this week are put to shame. But also that the flowers get to shine! Take a look at these amazing photos of the custom silk wedding flowers from Markina B Photography. If you are in the Twin Cities area check her out!

Erin at Love Is Blooming was wonderful and our silk flowers were perfect! We contacted this vendor just a month before our wedding, and Erin turned around our order exceptionally quickly, exceeding our expectations. Erin was professional, prompt in her communication, and went above and beyond in providing flower and accent recommendations to align with our color scheme. Our flowers were gorgeous and held up incredibly well through the long day. The pricing was very reasonable and we actually saved money by choosing this option compared with the quotes we received from traditional florists. We highly recommend Love Is Blooming!

Black, White and Blush Silk Wedding Flowers- Part 1

Angela was the sweetest bride to work with! She knew her color scheme and had a few flower suggestions, but she really let me make some creative suggestions and gave me the freedom in designing her bridal bouquet. Her custom silk wedding flowers and bouquets were so soft and romantic and dreamy and I can’t wait to share them with you!

Angela’s loose round handtied style bridal bouquet was a mix of blush pink Peonies, garden Roses, dusty blush pink Anemone, Skimmia berries, white seeds and some mixed greenery. Black can be a touch color to incorporate in the bouquets themselves, so I was excited that she liked my suggestions to bring that into the bouquets with the Skimmia and the Anemone.

The bridesmaid bouquets had a similar composition to the bridal bouquet, only smaller.

The boutonnieres and corsages used a mix of the flowers, colors and greenery for simple, but classically styled personal flowers.

Last is the cake topper! This cutie could be viewed from any side and feature some of the same flowers as the other arrangements, but in a small cluster for the top layer of her cake.

I’m excited to show you photos of this sweet client and her beautiful wedding day later this week. Check back in a few days to see the reveal and hear what Angela had to say about designing and ordering her custom silk wedding flowers.

Sunflower Yellow and Navy Blue Silk Wedding Flowers with Altar Arrangements

I’m convinced that sunflowers, along with roses will always be classic wedding flowers. And there might not be a better complementary color than navy with the deep gold hues of the Sunflowers. These silk wedding flowers are a great example of that color combination. Take a look!

This classic, round style bridal bouquet consisted of white Roses, Sunflowers, navy Ranunculus and white Baby’s Breath.

We simplified the bridesmaid bouquets to be white Hydrangea and Sunflowers so that the bridal bouquet stood out even more. If you are looking for a way to make the bridal bouquet different, but are worried about it not “matching,” this is a great example of how to make all the arrangements work together but different.

The toss bouquet was a mini version of the bridal bouquet with some fun ribbon tails added.

For altar arrangements, I created two mirror-image pieces to hang on her arch. It was mostly greenery for impact, with a few flowers to bring in their color scheme.

custom-silk-wedding-flowers-bridal-bouquet-sunflowers-altar-arrangements

The reception venue included a fireplace that they wanted a custom piece to decorate the mantel. I created this garland of white Hydrangea, navy Peonies, white Roses, Sunflowers and mixed greenery.

If you need decor for all aspects of your wedding day, and want a cohesive look, silk flowers are a great option. You get to help design the arrangements, see them in progress and have them ahead of schedule. If that appeals to you, contact me today about your wedding needs!

Lavender, White and Silver Silk Wedding Flowers with Bling

If you are looking for some silk wedding flowers and bouquets with a touch of bling, these are the photos for you! Emily’s color palette of lavender, white and silver were easy enough to work with, but I wanted to add a little extra ‘Oomph’ to her arrangements with some bling. Rather than just a few rhinestones here and there, I wanted it to be a statement. Take a look at what we designed together!

The bridal bouquet was a mix of lavender Roses, white Tulips, Baby’s Breath, and a little brighter lavender Spray Roses.

To give it a little more dimension, I add in some glittery, blingy branches to add texture, height and take it to the next level!

The bridesmaid bouquet was the same mix of flowers, but smaller and without the bling.

I am extremely happy with the way my flowers turned out. When I was looking for flowers for my wedding, I was having trouble finding some that I like because I can be pretty picky. I am also a college student, so I don’t have a lot of money to spend on my wedding. I’m so glad I found this company! Not only were the prices fair, bur she also worked very closely with me to help me customize my flowers. I’m legally blind, so details can be a little hard for me to work with. I trusted her completely to put together a beautiful arrangement using my colors, and I am very happy with how they turned out. The communication was amazing as well. Not only did I receive pictures throughout the process, but also received quick replies when I reached out. When I physically received the flowers in the mail, I was so impressed by the texture. The flowers seemed so real, which is something I really wanted for my bouquet. Additionally, they were packaged very carefully and neatly. I would highly encourage anyone who is looking for beautiful flowers at a fairly cheap price to order from here!
— Emily | West Virginia

There were two boutonnieres, the groom and groomsman where I incorporated a small piece of the glitter branch in the groom’s to match the bridal bouquet.

Emily also wanted a few clusters of flowers on ribbon loops for her aisle arrangements. These are a great, and cost effective way to tie all your looks together, add a little more to your decor, but not break the budget.

Burgundy and Blush Silk Wedding Flowers - Part 2 Reveal!

I don’t have much to say about these custom silk wedding flowers, except…ENJOY!

These amazing photos are by the extremely talented Marissa Murdy. Check her out if you need a photographer for your wedding day!

Are these dresses amazing, or what?!

The photo below is a great example of why taking scale into account is hugely important. The custom altar arrangement and garlands I had created and modeled on my mantel at home seemed oversized and monstrous. But on this beautiful mantel on a much larger fireplace, it couldn’t have been any smaller! The grandeur of the fireplace and chandelier, the interesting texture of the stone and baskets and the size of the arrangements blended perfectly for a stunning and interesting altar!

Thanks again to Peyton for trusting me to create custom silk wedding arrangements for their big day! If you are interested in a mantel piece, bridal bouquet or whatever you can think of, contact me today!

Burgundy and Blush Silk Wedding Flowers - Part 1

Feel free to scroll down to see the bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages because they are pretty great. But, please, take a minute and feast your eyes on this altar arrangement! This might be the biggest, baddest silk wedding flower arrangement I’ve ever done. It was almost 4 feet wide and over 2 feet tall, plus the custom garlands for both sides. This mix of burgundy Dahlia and Peonies, blush Roses and Peonies, white Dogwood and Roses, Lamb’s Ear and Eucalyptus was designing specifically for a fireplace mantel. And since I happen to have my very own fireplace mantel, I had the perfect place to model it!

custom-silk-bridal-bouquet-wedding-flower-arrangements-boutonnieres-corsages

So maybe you don’t have the need for a larger-than-life custom altar arrangement, but you are interested in custom silk wedding flowers and bouquets. These next photos should do the trick.

Peyton’s bridal bouquet was a modified cascade style with most of the flowers you see above in a soft, romantic look.

The bridesmaid bouquets had just a hint of blush and burgundy in a round handtied style.

custom-silk-bridal-bouquet-wedding-flower-arrangements-boutonnieres-corsages

The boutonnieres and corsages were a variety of burgundy, blush, white and greenery. You can see below that all your personal flowers come labeled, making it super easy for whomever is doing the distribution to get them pinned to the correct person.

Combining Inspiration Photos for the Perfect Silk Flower Bridal Bouquet

I’m not going to let my head get too big here, but it’s pretty fun when I ask for inspiration photos and brides send me photos of my own work. In this case, the bride sent me photos of Haley’s champagne, ivory and gray silk wedding flowers and another more intricate bridal bouquet (recreation) and asked me to combine the two styles and designs into one romantic look. Challenge accepted!

This modified cascade style bridal bouquet incorporated a similar color scheme as the first bouquet with some of the same flowers and berries and some of the daintiness and smaller elements of the second bouquet.

The bouquet was made with blush centered Cabbage Roses, ivory Garden Roses, gray Berries, blush pink Calla Lilies, Silver Dollar Eucalyptus, blush Heather, Lamb’s Ear and some mixed greens tucked in. The ever popular Antique White ribbon finished off this classy bouquet with partially wrapped stems.

The groom’s boutonniere was a nice complement to the bridal bouquet with a single Calla Lily, blush Heather, gray berries, Lamb’s Ear and Silver Dollar Eucalyptus.

Though this was for a small wedding, she also wanted some cake flowers for her two tier cake. I designed three different flower clusters that would give her baker some flexibility in placement.

Whether your wedding is big or small, silk wedding flowers allow flexibility, are budget friendly and they are just so darn pretty! Fill out the Free Bride’s Checklist for a quote for your custom silk wedding flowers.

Blush and Ivory Silk Wedding Flowers with Custom Dog Collar

It’s fun (and flattering) when brides see one of my bouquets and use it as the inspiration photo for their own custom silk wedding flowers. We had talked through a few ideas, but when bride Tammy saw these bouquets, she knew what direction she wanted her designs to go.

Her colors were blush and ivory and she wanted to make sure the flowers didn’t get too pink but rather leaned towards the peach side of blush. I gave a few options, but I ended up experimenting with custom dyeing some flowers and we nailed it on the color. Take a look at the designs we came up with together.

The bridal bouquet was a modified cascade style with blush Cabbage Roses, ivory with blush center Dahlia, ivory Garden Roses, blush Heather and lots of Lamb’s Ear. Soft, romantic-all the things you want in a bridal bouquet!

The bridesmaid bouquets were a mix of the same flowers in a round handtied style with Antique White ribbon, the same color we used on the bridal bouquet. It’s one of my favorite colors because it goes with everything (including white) and is a classic, clean look that blends in with every style and will never look outdated.

The boutonnieres were a simple mix of ivory Roses and some blush accents with Lamb’s Ear.

This was a first for me: a custom floral dog collar! Her dog is actually much smaller than my dog, Hoover, so I needed to use smaller scale flowers that still looked similar to what was in the bouquet. This wired floral collar is a mix of ivory and peach Ranunculus because they are similar shape to Cabbage Roses. I also included a few bits of blush Heather and some small sprigs of Queen Anne’s Lace to go with the Lamb’s Ear. Cute, right?!

Custom Cake Flowers Reveal

Back in December, I shared a few photos with you of Brianna’s custom silk wedding cake flowers. These cute little clusters of Sunflowers, Roses, Baby’s Breath and greenery were nice little accents for her wedding cake. I was thrilled when Brianna sent me some photos from her wedding day of her amazing cake!

Her amazing wedding cake was created by Modern Pastry Shop in Hartford, Connecticut. (Anyone else automatically think of Gilmore Girls when they hear anything about Hartford??). The flowers came out more beautiful than we imagined! They looked so realistic and came out perfect! Very accommodating to our requests!

Navy, Purple, and Plum Custom Silk Wedding Flowers

This was a new-to-me color combination, and I was all for it! Plum, purple and navy; moody, deep, complicated, simple, romantic, vibrant, striking…I could keep going, but let’s just get to the pictures. The silk bridal bouquet was a mix of navy and purple Calla Lilies, plum Tea Roses, navy Ranunculus, mini purple Tiger Lilies and Silver Dollar Eucalyptus in a modified cascade style.

We simplified the bridesmaid bouquets with just some plum Tea Roses, navy and purple Calla Lilies and just a touch of Eucalyptus.

The toss bouquet usually reflects the bridal bouquet in some way. This clutch style bouquet had the same flowers as the bridal bouquet, including the mini purple Tiger Lilies and navy Ranunculus. We added a little to it with some satin ribbon tails in navy.

The boutonnieres had a classic look with a single Calla and greens and a Ranunculus bud for the groom’s boutonniere.

These hair pieces were added a little later. The larger piece was for the bride and incorporated all her colors. The smaller style was for the bridesmaids and just had a hint of plum with the greenery.

And let’s not forget the flower girl! This cute flower crown was a base of baby’s breath with some plum flower blossoms for a dainty, but matching look.

Have you seen this color combo before? Do you love it?

*Actual* Valentine's Day Silk Wedding Flowers

Earlier this week, I gave one example of Valentine’s Day silk wedding flowers. Today is another example with a similar color palette but a completely different style. Enjoy!

This round ball bridal bouquet was a mix of magenta Garden and Cabbage Roses and Calla Lilies, white Garden Roses and Peonies, dusty pink Mums, and few stems of Dendrobium Orchids. She wanted some pearls added in so I put together clusters of 3-5 larger scale pearls and placed them throughout the bouquet. Their accent color was silver, so that’s the color we went with on the handle of the bouquets.

She chose a mini bouquet for the flower girl and I used the same mix as the bridal bouquet, just much smaller.

This next photo shows a few of the “extras” she ordered. There were two cake clusters for her one layer wedding Cheesecake (yum!). These were designed to be different and could go on two opposite corners, one on top, one around the edge or wherever she wanted them to go. The bottom arrangement was a swag for her unity candle table. The great thing about this piece is that is can easily be picked up after the ceremony and used somewhere in the reception area; the food, gift, guestbook, or head table would all be great places for this matching custom silk wedding flower arrangement to decorate.

We kept the boutonnieres and corsages simple with white Roses and magenta accents with Lamb’s Ear for the boutonnieres and a fluffier white Ranunculus for the corsages. You’ll notice the differences are ever so slight between the boutonnieres, but they are enough to be able differentiate between the groom, groomsmen and father bouts. This bride wanted the mothers to have an option of pin or wrist corsage so she ordered one of each! I added a small spray of pearls for accent to match the bridal bouquet for a nice touch of shine.

Blue, White and Rosegold Silk Wedding Flowers with Pergola Arrangement

Rachelle and I worked to come up with the perfect design for her 2021 winter wedding they were hosting in their beautiful Arizona backyard….record scratch…”Wait, winter 2021?! That hasn’t even happened yet Erin!” Here’s the skinny, Rachelle emailed me a few weeks after finalizing her design plan with some circumstances that expedited our timeline. So instead of a December wedding, we were now planning for an April wedding! But you know what, I didn’t even break out into one drop of sweat. I had the silk wedding flowers, and I was ready to go!

This intimate backyard wedding would be small, but Rachelle still wanted beautiful arrangements for their loved ones and for the amazing Pergola that would be the location of where they were going to exchange their vows. Take a look at her custom arrangements that feature blue, white, and rosegold in the designs!

The bridal bouquet was a combination of white Roses, white and blue Picasso Calla Lilies, navy Peonies, Dusty Miller, and some glittery rosegold twigs.

The Maid of Honor silk bouquet featured the same flowers, but a single navy Peony to bring the size down. I tied both bouquets off with a shimmery, sheer Champagne ribbon that looked amazing with the rosegold twigs.

Rachelle ordered just a few boutonnieres and corsages for the bridal party and parents. Everything matching in colors, flowers, and ribbon.

Remember that pergola I mentioned in the intro? Take a look at the show stopping altar arrangement pieces we designed together to go on the top corner and the opposite upright beam of the pergola. These swags incorporated all the same flowers on a base of mixed greens and Eucalyptus.

I know you didn’t ask for the moral of the story, but here it is: life throws you curve balls and silk flowers keep you in the batters box! And if sportsball isn’t your type of metaphor: if a major/minor life change results in wedding plans that have to change, don’t spend one minute worrying about whether you can still get the custom silk wedding flowers of your dreams, because the answer is YES!
