Custom Silk Wedding Flower Review

I shared Kelsey’s bright and bold custom silk wedding flowers back in January, and recently, Kelsey took the time to send in a review in honor of her upcoming one year anniversary. Hearing from real people with real experiences is a great way to vet a vendor for your wedding day. And of course, I’ll take any excuse to show off my awesome clients :) Let’s hear what Kelsey had to say!

Photo provided by Nick G. who is moving on from his career in photography, but I’m so grateful for his permission to share his beautiful work!

Coming up on our 1 year anniversary has me going back through all of our wedding photos. I still can’t get enough of how wonderful a job Erin did for my bridal bouquet and bridesmaids bouquets. We loved them so much that both my mom and I are using the bouquets as floral arrangements in our respective homes (another reason to go with silk!). From hearing my eclectic ideas and array of colors to making last minute changes, Erin was a dream to work with. My maid of honor got married a couple months later and made sure to use Erin, as well!

Sisters' Bridal Bouquet Recreations - Reveal and Review

Bridal Bouquet recreations aren’t just for the gifting husband. I have had sisters, friends, and moms all order them for someone else. I have also had plenty of brides who wanted a bridal bouquet recreation in silk wedding flowers for themselves! Rounine, my lovely customer, fit into two of those categories. She wanted a bridal bouquet recreation for herself and one for her sister! Let's take a look at these very special pieces.

Rounine’s bouquet was a mix of white Roses, Eucalyptus and Seeds in a round handtied style. So classy and elegant!

My sister and I got married really close and we both wanted to preserve our flowers but didn’t know how. I was on google and the website came up, I emailed Erin and hoped she could do it, I was not disappointed. She communicated and sent pictures throughout the process, and it was affordable. I also wanted to surprise my sister with her own bridal bouquet recreation. I received the bouquets on Saturday and my sister happened to be with me. She was so happy with hers, she couldn’t believe how close it was to her actual bouquet. She like me wishes that she knew about love is blooming before her wedding day. We would have just gone with “fake” flowers and be able to keep all of our floral arrangements. We are very happy with the end results and we hope to use them in the future for our anniversary celebrations and preserve them along with other mementos from our wedding. Thank you again for a job well done.

Her sister’s bouquet was a bigger challenge. It had lots of texture, a wider variety of flowers and greens it a very unique shaped bouquet. It included Cymbidium Orchids, Anemone, Thistle, Stock flowers, burgundy Roses, Hypericum Berries, Kangaroo Paw, Queen Anne’s Lace, Eucalyptus, Grass and Bunny Tails.

She did such an amazing job! I am honestly very impressed with the amount of work and details!
— Lyndjy | Georgia

Rounine added the matching groom’s boutonnieres to her order. Each one was just as unique and lovely as the bouquet they matched.

Dusty Blue and Sunflowers in Custom Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

Dusty blue is a hot color right now for silk bridal bouquets, and I’ve mixed it with everything from blush, to burgundy, to gold, to peach! The wedding I’m sharing with you today was a gorgeous outdoor wedding in Florida that was full of texture and color and just so lovely. Take a look at these images from Imely Photography and Video.

Katie’s gorgeous modified cascading silk bridal bouquet was a mix of Sunflowers, dusty blue Roses, ivory mini Cabbage Roses, yellow Astilbe, Queen Anne’s Lace, Fern and Ficus greenery. She wanted some pearl accent so we went with some larger scale pearl picks to just add that little bit of glam to her bouquet. A lovely bouquet for a beautiful bride!

The two bridesmaid bouquets were round handtied style bouquets with the same mix of flowers as the bridal bouquet. We left the pearls out so they were just special to Katie’s bouquet.

Katie had the most amazing venue for her big day. This awesome entryway to the ceremony site had window boxes on either side of the doors. I created small garlands to lay in there with a few of the feature flowers and greenery for accent.

The arbor was a rustic wood piece that I created big, lush corner swag and a smaller vertical piece for the side. Peep those palms leaves in the back-so unique!

Katie had hanging jars for the ends of each row of benches. I created small bouquets for each one and all she had to do was drop it in the jars! And what’s great about pieces like this is that you can use them elsewhere in your décor-scroll down to see how they transferred seamlessly to her reception tables.

I found Erin online looking for wedding flowers. Sunflowers with blue flowers were very rare to find but I ended up coming across a beautiful bouquet that was the colors I wanted but not exactly what I was looking for. When id read more through her page I had reached out and asked for the specifics. I wanted blue flowers and sunflowers with a very small amount of white but more added greenery and if possible somehow added accents of lace and pearls. Erin absolutely hit exactly what i wanted out of the park. She consulted with me while they were being done to make sure i was getting exactly what i wanted (actually better than i ever could have expected) and they came well before the wedding, so no nervous bride! I also did all the decorating for my wedding and the ties on these flowers and the easy drop ins for my mason jars made for an easy experience. I love that i get to keep these beautiful pieces as well and use them now as décor for my home as we couldn’t give them up and found a way to insert them into our lives daily. The fact that they are so tastefully done and not over the top made that easy for us as well. The price was also perfect and well worth it! I wouldn’t change one thing about how beautiful her flowers tied our wedding together! Thank you Erin for such an amazing and easy experience.
— Katie | Florida

A couple of the guys’ boutonnieres.

The cake flowers were small clusters of Sunflowers, dusty blue Roses and accent flowers, Queen Anne’s Lace and greenery. Katie also incorporated some of her own décor that all looked so good together!

Thank you again to Imely Photography for these stunning images and to Katie for being so easy to work with. Does this color palette inspire you? Fill out the Free Bride’s Checklist today for a quote.

Burgundy and Taupe Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

One of the up and coming hot colors is a surprising choice - it’s taupe! It’s a wonderfully warm neutral that goes with a variety of accent colors and adds an unexpected richness to wedding decor. Today, I get to share with you a great example of incorporating taupe into wedding flowers. Tiara had an awesome vision for her custom silk wedding flowers that included texture, neutrals and burgundy. I showed her a variety of options, and she pretty much said “Yes!” to all of them! Let’s take a look at the magazine-worthy images Tiara sent me from the photographer who captured her day so beautifully: Narvold Photography.

Tiara’s modified cascade style bridal bouquet was a mix of taupe and coffee colored Roses, burgundy Roses, Peonies and Calla Lilies, Cynara pods, Thistle, burgundy Amaranthus, sage Fern, mauve Queen Anne’s Lace seeds, Seeded Eucalyptus and beige Heather. It was a STUNNER!

Erin is absolutely fantastic to work with and she created the most beautiful bouquets for my wedding. After sending her a few photos and ideas she was able to visualize and create exactly what I was looking for and more! I highly recommend!
— Tiara | Minnesota

The bridesmaids were wearing beautiful burgundy dresses and carried handtied versions of Tiara’s bouquet. I even made mini bouquets for the flower girls.

Fall Silk Wedding Flowers in the Mountains - Reveal and Review

I am thrilled to be able to share Ally’s beautiful custom silk wedding flowers from her fall wedding near Mt. Hood, Washington. Not only is she stunning, but the backdrop for her wedding is to die for! Take a look at these amazing photos from Terra Lange Photography.

Ally’s bridal bouquet was a modified cascade style with a mix of yellow Peonies, burgundy Peonies, orange Dahlia, orange Cosmos, burgundy berries, sage Fern, twigs, Seeded Eucalyptus, Cynara pods and Magnolia greenery. It was textured and lush and full and perfect for an outdoor wedding.

One of the things I loved about working with Ally is that every idea she had was well thought out. Her bridesmaids were wearing these glamorous velvet-y dresses in 3 different jewel tones, and she wanted simple hoop bouquets to complement them. We choose just a few of the flowers and greens for the gold metal hoop bouquets for a modern but classy take on bridesmaid bouquets.

Not to be left out, her flower girls each carried smaller versions of the hoop bouquets

I was looking for flowers that looked real, and would last forever as I wanted to use them in my home after the wedding. I’m so glad I found love is blooming. They came out absolutely beautifully! She helped me pick flowers and greenery based of my limited knowledge and color scheme. She was very easy to work with and responsive and was also very kind and patient with me. The shipping was timely and the finished product was exactly what I was hoping for. I would definitely hire again.
— Ally | Washington

Ally used a combination of custom silk wedding altar pieces for her unique round altar and fresh fall flowers and pumpkins. The draped fabric added such texture and softness!

Dramatic Silk Wedding Flowers - Reveal and Review

A few weeks ago, I shared Kendra’s lush silk wedding flowers in burgundy and blue. I loved the drama of her silk bridal bouquet! And lucky for us she shared her wedding photos with me so that I could show all of you! Be sure and check out her extremely talented photography, based here in Twin Cities, Laura Calvo Photography.

Here is my stunning bride Kendra! And I guess we can talk about the bouquet too;) This modified cascade style bouquet was overflowing with Silver Dollar and Seeded Eucalyptus, Ruscus, Fern, blue Thistle, white Roses, and deep burgundy Dahlias. She had a very specific vision for her bouquet and we worked closely together to find the perfect flowers and greens to bring that vision to life.

The bridesmaids carried loose handtied round style bouquets with a single burgundy Dahlia, a few Roses and Thistle and the same mix of greenery. We wanted to mimic the wilder look of Kendra’s bouquet without too much draping. Each bouquet is similar but the greenery falls in different ways giving it a cohesive but varied look.

HIGHLY recommend Love is Blooming! I had attempted to work with two different florists to recreate a bouquet from a picture I found on Pinterest, that I absolutely loved! Neither were able to create anything even remotely similar to the picture, and I thought I was going to have to give up on my vision. But then I found Erin at Love is Blooming, and she went above and beyond to create a gorgeous bouquet for myself, as well as beautiful matching bouquets for my bridal party! She provided great communication throughout her entire creation process and I couldn’t be happier with how they all turned out!

Bright and Bold Silk Wedding Flowers- Reveal

Here in Minnesota, it’s January. That means a little dark, a lot cold, and snow. I thought I’d share a really bright and bold set of silk wedding flowers with you to bring a little spark to this Monday! Kelsey’s color combination is bursting with brightness, but the unexpected variation in texture is what really sets the bridal bouquet apart. Kelsey contacted me looking for custom silk wedding flowers that were happy and colorful. She gave me some suggestions to go along with the look she had in mind along and a link to her favorite inspiration bouquet. Take a look at what we came up with!

Kelsey is radiating joy in these pictures and I’m so glad to have been able to match that same spirit in her bouquet. Her modified cascade silk bridal bouquet was a mix of magenta Peonies, orange Pincushion Protea, yellow Billy Buttons, peach and blush Roses, bright pink Freesia, white Delphinium, blue Thistle, white Hops, Willow Eucalyptus and Silver Dollar Eucalyptus. She liked the idea of ribbon tails in a few colors so we added a little more blue and white to finish off the look.

The bridesmaid bouquets were pared back versions with a smaller mix of those flowers in a clutch style bouquet. They really popped against their blush pink gowns.

These awesome photos were provided by Nick G. who is moving on from his career in photography, but I’m so grateful for his permission to share his beautiful work!

Jenny’s modified cascade style bridal bouquet was a mix of orange Dahlia, peach Cabbage Roses, white Cabbage Roses, red Ranunculus, orange Cosmos, blue Heather, gray Berries, and Seeded and Silver Dollar Eucalyptus. The asymmetrical shape of her modified cascade bouquet gives it a unique and modern twist on the more traditional tear drop cascade.

Erin was wonderful to work with and did such an amazing job! She was very easy to communicate with and always quick with responses. The bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages turned out even better than I had imagined! Erin was very helpful in picking out flowers and greens to help bring my ideas to life. The flowers all looked very real too and photographed beautifully. I’ve already recommended her to a few friends and they all had great experiences with her as well! Winter Silk Bridal Bouquet Recreation - Reveal and Review

Having a December birthday, I have a little bit of a chip on my shoulder about all things winter. But winter silk wedding flowers are starting to become some of my favorite! It’s almost easier to add a little bit of magic and shine like this wedding, or go a bit more wild and whimsical like this wedding, or maybe soft and romantic speaks to you like this wedding. Whatever you are warming up to, take a look at this great example of way to combine traditional “winter” elements to a bridal bouquet that is lush, full, textural and just so pretty!

silk-bridal-bouquet-recreation-wedding-flowers-anniversary-gift

Jennifer contacted me about recreating her custom bouquet, originally designed and created by Blue Ivy Flowers of Rossville, Georgia. And it was a stunner! A combination of blush Cabbage and Garden Roses, white Spray Roses, blue Thistle, white Hypericum Berries, Cedar, Cypress, Evergreen, Seeded Eucalyptus and Brunia Berries in a loose handtied style bouquet. It was important that we included all the elements as closely as possible (I couldn’t get as delicate with the Thistle as the original) but also duplicate the feel and style of the bouquet. With something as full and varied as Jennifer’s bouquet, that can be a challenge!

These two (above/below) images are from their very talented photographer out of Chattanooga, Tennessee: Jennifer Anderson Photography. Check them out if you are in that area and want amazing wedding photos:)

Silk Winter Wedding Flowers

Tomorrow is the official first day of winter, but it’s been cold and snowy here in Minnesota for a few weeks already. I shared some more summer-y flowers last week, so I thought I better give custom winter wedding flowers some space on the blog, since there’s not much left of this December!

Meghan hired me to create custom silk wedding flowers for her upcoming New Year’s Eve wedding. I wanted to give her the rich colors of a winter theme without it looking like Christmas. Let’s start with her modified cascade silk bridal bouquet.

Meghan’s bouquet was a mix of burgundy Roses and Peonies, white Ranunculus, a few Pinecones, Cedar boughs, Silver Dollar Eucalyptus and gray Dusty Miller. The asymmetrical cascade is going to look good at any angle your photographer decides to shoot from.

custom-silk-winter-wedding-flowers-bridal-bouquet-bridesmaid-bouquets

The bridesmaid clutch bouquets were a simple mix of a single burgundy Peony, a few Ranunculus, Dusty Miller and a mix of the greenery in that same loose handtied style.

I had the BEST experience working with Erin! I only had the vaguest idea of what I was looking for for my New Year’s Eve wedding and she brought such elegant creativity to my wedding preparations. She was so patient with all my questions, provided photos throughout the process, and was all around a pleasure. Her talent and skill is obvious and she is the most affordable silk flower florist I have encountered. The bouquets were delivered with the utmost care in packaging they look stunningly real. Thank you, Erin!
— Meghan | Massachusetts

The groom’s boutonniere was a burgundy Rose, white Ranunculus and greenery, tied off with matching black ribbon.

Alaskan Destination Wedding-Reveal and Review

Bohemian, or boho, style bouquets have been all the rage the last year or two. This bridal bouquet is a great example of this style. Take a look at these amazing photos by Dallin and Cienna of bride Roxanna and her crew. Roxanna is from my area but drove out to Alaska for her destination wedding. How cool is that?!

Her modified cascade style silk bridal bouquet was a muted mix of beige, peach, and ivory Roses, Peonies, and Delphinium. We didn’t want anything too traditional look so we added lots of natural textures provided by the Artichoke, Amaranthus, Wheat, Fern and Sword Eucalyptus. To complete the look, I tied lots of ribbon tails in different shades of champagne and ivory. Roxanna was awesome at communicating her style with me and I think we did a great job working together to create a bouquet that matched her dress and her surroundings.

Working with Erin was a heaven sent for me! By that I mean I had a very specific idea in my vision for my bouquet. Although it was very hard for me to explain. We went through quite a few trials until we absolutely nailed it! She was so unbelievably patient, and kind throughout our process. I am so grateful to have worked with her, and I highly recommend!
— Roxanna | Minnesota

The bridesmaids carried simple bouquets of white Peonies and Olive greenery. I love the way they accentuated the variety of their dress colors.

Silk Wedding Bouquets with Greenery-Review and Reveal

2021 has been the year of the brides who are ON.THE.BALL. I hadn’t even had the chance to post the photos I took of Erica’s arrangements and bridal bouquet before she sent me these amazing images from her May wedding. This wedding is unique because Erica wanted only greenery and a few succulents in her bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages.

Please enjoy these gorgeous photos from Rachel at Type and Timber Photography. Be sure and check out her website and book her for your Minnesota wedding!

The sage green dresses with these lush bouquets was, in fact, dreamy.

The boutonnieres and corsages were a mix of greenery from the bouquets, mini succulents and a few more types of smaller leaf greenery to add lots of variety to each category of people wearing them. I finished them off with Antique White satin ribbon which we also decided on for the bouquets.

Erin did absolutely incredible work! The communication with her was so easy and she was able to bring my vision to life. I didn’t have a lot of room in my budget for my wedding flowers, but these arrangements were so affordable! Quality was amazing and now I get to keep the arrangements for decor in my home ❤️

Erica’s bouquet was a modified cascade style with Silver Dollar Eucalyptus, blue green Eucalyptus, Seeded Eucalyptus, Sage and 3 large Succulents. We tied it off with Antique White ribbon.

One other thing I wanted to show you is how Erica chose to incorporate her custom silk wedding flower arrangements into her home. Because these bouquets are not season or color specific, Erica decided they would make great decor! She shared a few photos with me and I thought it would be a great idea to show you how others are displaying their custom silk wedding flowers.

Tropical Wedding and Silk Flower Bouquet Reveal!

I love being able to do reveals, and this one is so amazing! Ali had a clear vision for her tropical themed silk wedding flowers. She wanted to incorporate the colors of coral, peach, and white and also lots of lush greenery. I found some great options for her in Calla Lilies, Peonies, Orchids, Palm and Monstera Leaves and even some tiny coral Succulents for her bouquet.

Take a look at these fantastic images from Erin Schaal, a very talented photographer out of Richmond, Virginia! You can find her on Instagram @erinnschaal, check her out!

Ali was such a stunning bride!

Browsing through Ali’s gallery, I noticed so many photos of her looking adoringly at her new husband. I love it!

I love that Ali’s bridesmaids all wore different styles and colors of dresses. It looks so good!

This wedding is a great example of a unique and easy DIY for table decor. Ali purchased individual Monstera and Palm leaves in bulk through me. Then she simply laid them on her tables at the reception site. It gives big impact without the cost of individual finished centerpieces.

Ali also purchased loose flowers and greens for her baker to place on the cake. It’s simple and stunning!

Inspiration Photos and Silk Wedding Flowers

Kendra is a local bride who reached out to me to bring her dream bouquet to life. She sent me an inspiration photo of a big, bold, beautiful bouquet. In her attempt to have a recreation made of the bouquet, she had found a seller on Etsy who said she was able to recreate the look. Unfortunately, the bouquet was undersized, the colors and greenery were off, and she just didn’t love it. Kendra had also talked to the actual florist of her inspiration bouquet who was willing to come do her flowers, but it was going to cost her thousands of dollars to fly her here and cover her accommodations, car rental, material and time.

And then she found me :) I sent her some flower and greenery options, we talked through the shape of the silk bouquet, I custom dyed some Dahlias to be just the right shade of burgundy, and what we came up with together was…well I’ll let her tell you in her own words:

HIGHLY recommend Love is Blooming! I had attempted to work with two different florists to recreate a bouquet from a picture I found on Pinterest, that I absolutely loved! Neither were able to create anything even remotely similar to the picture, and I thought I was going to have to give up on my vision. But then I found Erin at Love is Blooming, and she went above and beyond to create a gorgeous bouquet for myself, as well as beautiful matching bouquets for my bridal party! She provided great communication throughout her entire creation process and I couldn’t be happier with how they all turned out!
— Kendra | Minnesota

Kendra’s bridal bouquet was a very lush mix of white Roses, large burgundy Dahlia, dusty blue Thistle, Fern, Heart Eucalyptus, Seeded Eucalypts and Ruscus in a modified cascade style bouquet. We finished it off with some burlap to complement the rustic style of their wedding.

The bridesmaid bouquets and junior bridesmaid bouquet were a mix of all the same flowers and greens but in smaller handtied style bouquets.

I’m always so grateful when brides trust me to design their custom silk wedding flowers. I loved these bouquets a little more than usual because I knew how much they meant to Kendra.

Do you have an inspiration photo that you just can’t get out of your head? Send it to me to talk through the possibilities!

Dusty Rose, Cream and Green Silk Wedding Flowers- Part 1

Dusty Rose might be the star of 2021 for bridal bouquets. It’s one of those colors that is soft, romantic, and a little out of the ordinary so it really stands out! Kourtney’s flowers are a great example of incorporating dusty rose into your silk wedding flowers as an accent and feature.

Kourtney’s bridal bouquet was a mix of custom dyed Roses in dusty Rose, ivory Garden Roses, ivory Cabbage Roses, white seeds, Fern and lots of Eucalyptus in a modified cascade style. Big and beautiful, this bouquet was a show-stopper!

The bridesmaid dresses were a shade of dusty rose, so Kourtney requested that their bouquets be a mix of cream and green. These simple style bouquets would allow Kourtney’s bouquet to stand out even more and for the bridesmaid dresses to be a great accent to the bridal bouquet as well. The flower girls had their own sweet mini bouquets of a single cabbage Rose and greenery.

Kourtney included a few custom honorary arrangements to honor family members who had passed away. These bouquet style arrangements are designed to be able to drop into vases that Kourtney purchased on her own. I wrapped them with a green ribbon so that if the vases were clear, the ribbon would blend in nicely with the stems.

The boutonnieres and corsages were a mix of cream flowers and a few dusty rose colored flowers mixed in. But all were simple and classic styles. These photos are to show how all the personal flowers come labeled, so that whoever is handing them out or doing the pinning knows who they are for.

Destination Wedding- Tropical Silk Bouquet in Soft Tones

I’ve done a few tropical weddings with silk flowers that have been more out of the box (remember Candace?) and I gotta say, I love doing it! This bridal bouquet needed to be soft, romantic, textural, but appropriate for a destination beach wedding. Take a look and let me know what you think!

Her bouquet was a mix of peonies in ivory, Scabiosa pods, green Amaranthus, fern, ivory Spray Roses, white mini Fern, grasses, blush seeds, Orchid buds, twigs and finished off with Chardonnay satin ribbon. This modified cascade style bouquet is a more modern take on a tropical bouquet but with all the interest that comes along with traditionally tropical flowers. Sure, we don’t have the fuchsia orchids or big leafy greens, but this bouquet certainly belongs on the beach!

Burgundy and Blush Silk Wedding Flowers - Part 2 Reveal!

I don’t have much to say about these custom silk wedding flowers, except…ENJOY!

These amazing photos are by the extremely talented Marissa Murdy. Check her out if you need a photographer for your wedding day!

Are these dresses amazing, or what?!

The photo below is a great example of why taking scale into account is hugely important. The custom altar arrangement and garlands I had created and modeled on my mantel at home seemed oversized and monstrous. But on this beautiful mantel on a much larger fireplace, it couldn’t have been any smaller! The grandeur of the fireplace and chandelier, the interesting texture of the stone and baskets and the size of the arrangements blended perfectly for a stunning and interesting altar!

Thanks again to Peyton for trusting me to create custom silk wedding arrangements for their big day! If you are interested in a mantel piece, bridal bouquet or whatever you can think of, contact me today!

Burgundy and Blush Silk Wedding Flowers - Part 1

Feel free to scroll down to see the bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages because they are pretty great. But, please, take a minute and feast your eyes on this altar arrangement! This might be the biggest, baddest silk wedding flower arrangement I’ve ever done. It was almost 4 feet wide and over 2 feet tall, plus the custom garlands for both sides. This mix of burgundy Dahlia and Peonies, blush Roses and Peonies, white Dogwood and Roses, Lamb’s Ear and Eucalyptus was designing specifically for a fireplace mantel. And since I happen to have my very own fireplace mantel, I had the perfect place to model it!

custom-silk-bridal-bouquet-wedding-flower-arrangements-boutonnieres-corsages

So maybe you don’t have the need for a larger-than-life custom altar arrangement, but you are interested in custom silk wedding flowers and bouquets. These next photos should do the trick.

Peyton’s bridal bouquet was a modified cascade style with most of the flowers you see above in a soft, romantic look.

The bridesmaid bouquets had just a hint of blush and burgundy in a round handtied style.

custom-silk-bridal-bouquet-wedding-flower-arrangements-boutonnieres-corsages

The boutonnieres and corsages were a variety of burgundy, blush, white and greenery. You can see below that all your personal flowers come labeled, making it super easy for whomever is doing the distribution to get them pinned to the correct person.

I’m really excited to share with you all the reveal of these flowers, especially the altar arrangement! Check back in a few days!
