Hiking in With Your Northwoods Silk Wedding Flowers - A Destination Wedding

One of the many things I learned in 2020 was some flexibility. I saw that same quality in a lot of my clients this past year. Minnesota clients of mine, especially, had to switch plans, reschedule dates, change venues, and even adjust wedding party members. When Karen contacted me about her daughter’s wedding, I loved the creativity they had come up with to still go forward with her daughter’s wedding. They were going up north, hiking into their location and doing a small ceremony in the beauty of nature. Isn’t that awesome? It also presented a few unique challenges: the arrangements needed to be packable and small.

Take a look at the package of destination silk wedding flowers I put together for Karen and her daughter.

The bridal bouquet was a mix of a single white Peony, ivory Ranunuculus, Fern, Seeded Eucalyptus and some mixed greenery. Karen wanted everything to look woodsy and natural, so I wrapped the stems in a sage green satin ribbon.

There was one bridesmaid bouquet that needed to be even smaller and still incorporate the same flowers. I reduced the amount of Ranunculus and greenery for a cute clutch style bouquet.

The groom and groomsman each had a single Ranunculus for their boutonnieres with a different mix of greenery in each. Karen had ordered a small cake that they wanted a small custom cake arrangement made for. I created a topper that could either be placed directly in the center, on one corner/side spreading over the cake, or hanging over the edge of the cake on the side. I like to give options with these sorts of custom arrangements so the bride can decide what she likes best.

If 2020 left you in a tail spin and you feel like everything has to change for your upcoming wedding plans, take heart! One of the things you could check off your list is your wedding flowers. With custom silk wedding flowers, you can order ahead of time, see what they look like while they are being made, and have them on hand months ahead of time to deal with any changes that come your way. And if that means hiking into the Northwoods with your custom silk wedding flowers, I got your back! Contact me today for a free quote!

Cierra wanted her simple yet elegant bridal bouquet recreated and when she asked me I was happy to say, yes! Her bouquet was a unique and classy design; a combination of Baby’s Breath and Lamb’s Ear. I recreated her bouquet in silk flowers with a simple cream bow and satin ribbon on the stems.

I recently got married this past July and really wanted to preserve my wedding flowers, but when I found out how expensive that was I decided to go a different route and get my bouquet recreated. I eventually found Love Is Blooming online and emailed Erin right away. Erin was lovely to work with and responded quickly. After a few emails and pictures my bouquet turned out beautifully, so good my family thought it was the real thing!

Peony Silk Wedding Flowers and Bridal Bouquet

Peonies are one of my favorite flowers, so I love getting to incorporate them into bridal bouquets and wedding flowers. Because they are a nice full flower, they fill in an arrangement using fewer flowers, but have a romantic texture that softens up any bouquet.

This bridal bouquet was a mix of ivory roses and peonies with blush pink large and mini Peonies and wrapped in Antique White ribbon.

The bridesmaids bouquets were a nice complement to the bridal and feature ivory roses and peonies and a few blush peonies. We matched the ribbon on these bouquets too.

One of the special arrangements I created to match the other wedding flowers was an honorary Grandparent’s arrangement. This is a thoughtful way to honor grandparents who are not able to attend the ceremony or who have passed away. In this case, we added some red roses as a way to include her grandmother’s favorite color. I also added a little bit of Lamb’s ear to set it apart from the bouquets.

The toss bouquet was a slight variation on both the bridal and the bridesmaids bouquets and was composed of ivory and blush Peonies and ivory Spray Roses. I added ribbon tails onto the wrap so it looks a little more dramatic as it gets tossed through the air.

Peonies aren’t usually used for boutonnieres and corsages because of their size. In this case, the mini Peonies were a great option for both!

Cake flowers are a great way to tie it all your themes together at the reception. These small clusters will be placed on a few of the layers of the cake. Just a touch of pink, ivory and Lamb’s ear.

Maybe you like Peonies or maybe it’s the blush and ivory combination. Or maybe it’s the look of a round style bridal bouquet that caught your eye. Whatever your style or colors, fill out the Free Bride’s Checklist for a quote on your dream wedding flowers!

Customizing Silk Wedding Flowers from and Inspiration Photos

Usually bride’s who contact me have an idea of what they like, as was the case with Kim. She was interested in a silk bridal bouquet with ivory Roses, Baby’s Breath and pink carnations with some bling. I sent her the link to this bouquet to give her an example of the bling I could do and she ended up loving the bouquet itself! We adjusted the colors a bit so that her bouquet was mainly ivory and blush pink and gave the big pops of pink to the bridesmaids who would be wearing black dresses.

Peonies in ivory and blush pink with ivory Roses, Silver Dollar Eucalyptus, Antique White Satin ribbon and rhinestone wrap on the handle.

The bridesmaid bouquets were a mix of ivory Roses, fuchsia, bright pink and blush pink Peonies, Silver Dollar Eucalyptus with Azalea colored satin ribbon.

Kim wanted a custom piece for her altar. I created this swag to lay on the table at the front of her ceremony site. I incorporated mixed greens, Silver Dollar Eucalyptus, ivory Roses and Peonies, and blush pink, fuchsia and bright pink peonies.

The boutonnieres were a combination of flowers and colors for a cohesive look. The groom’s bout was an ivory Rose bud, with blush pink accent, bright pink mini Peony, a sprig of Eucalyptus and antique white ribbon to match the bridal bouquet. Kim also wanted the groom’s bout to have a tiny bit of bling so I lined the top and the bottom of the stem with a thin strip of rhinestones. The groomsmen bouts were an ivory rose, mini Peony, Eucalyptus and the same color ribbon as the bridesmaid bouquets. We kept the fathers’ boutonnieres simple with an ivory Rose bud, sprig of Eucalyptus and blush pink ribbon.

The two mothers’ corsages were wrist style with spray Roses, mini Peonies, blush accent, Eucalyptus, a small spray of rhinestones and blush pink ribbon.

Wisteria, Lavender and Ivory Silk Wedding Flowers

Sometimes a picture says it all. Take a look at Kate’s custom silk wedding flowers in wisteria, lavender and ivory.

Composed of ivory and lavender Peonies, wisteria Tea Roses, Lavender and Lamb’s ear, Kate’s bridal bouquet was just so darn romantic. The handtied style is classic and will always look great no matter the year or the season!

The bridesmaids will carry bouquets similar to Kate’s but scaled back in size. They were tied off with matching Antique White satin ribbon.

I found these sweet little mini Peonies that were just perfect for the boutonnieres and corsages.

Groom’s boutonniere with a mini ivory Peony, Lavender, Waxflower and Lamb’s ear. The groomsmen and father’s boutonnieres had a mini Peony, Lavender and Lamb’s ear.

The mothers’ pin on corsages matched the guys with a couple mini ivory Peonies, Lavender, a small wisteria flower bud, Lamb’s ear, ribbon and small spray of rhinestones. Charming!

Dusty Blue and Ivory Silk Bridal Bouquet and Maid of Honor Bouquet

Small weddings are all the rage right now. Whether that’s a result of Covid-19 or couples reevaluating what they want their dream wedding to be like, I’m doing more and more custom silk bridal bouquets for weddings with just one or two bridesmaids, or none at all! And since things are changing left and right for what can be celebrated and when, there has never been a better time to order flowers that DON’T DIE! I’ve already been able to help out several couples who’s wedding plans had to change and the best part is that they still get beautiful flowers, whenever their wedding ends up happening.

Kayla emailed me looking for her bouquet and a matching one for her Maid of Honor. She had a few inspiration photos and with a little input from me we came up with this bright and light design.

The bridal bouquet consisted of blue Hydrangea, ivory Roses and Calla Lilies, and greens. Kayla wanted to include some bling, so I added individual rhinestones into the bouquet and tied it off with silver ribbon.

I ordered my bridal and maid of honor bouquet after dealing with so many florists. I decided to go with Love is Blooming and holy cow they came out amazing! Erin did an amazing job, she kept me informed, and gave me ideas on what would look good and what wouldn’t. I am so beyond happy with how they turned out.

I reached out to Erin to see if she could recreate my wife’s wedding bouquet for our 2nd anniversary. After a few emails and pictures, she had everything she needed. A few weeks later she sent me images that were a dead on ringer for my wife’s wedding bouquet. Fast forward to our anniversary and my wife absolutely loved the gift and still can’t believe how close it looks to the original. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a bouquet!
— Matt | Ohio

The above photo is one I sent to Matt when I had the bouquet finished up. He loved it but mentioned that another photo of the original bouquet, from a different angle, showed more greenery than I could see. This right here folks, is why silk flowers are awesome. Whether it’s a recreation or your actual wedding flowers, getting to see them ahead of time means you can make those little tweaks that make the difference. After receiving Matt’s feedback, I was able to add some more greens in to the back of the bouquet around the bottom. The below photo shows the edits of the final design. When it comes to anniversary gifts, it’s important to me to get it right, those details really do matter!

Matt was kind enough to send this photo to me to demonstrate that despite attempting to dry out his wife’s gorgeous original bouquet, it didn’t look as pretty as they’d hoped. And that’s where I got to help out.

Pink and White Silk Wedding Flowers with Bling

Pink, in any shade, is in style. In my 15 years of creating custom silk wedding flowers and bridal bouquets in Minneapolis area and across the country (and world), there hasn’t been a single year where I haven’t done multiple pink weddings. No purple this year, sure. No yellow in sight, no surprise there. But pink? There’s always been pink.

If you are considering pink, you can’t go wrong. And if you want to find a way for your silk wedding flowers to stand out, just add bling! Take a look these silk flower bouquets that I customized after my bride saw these flowers.

This round style silk bridal bouquet is made of Roses, Peonies, Tulips and hand wired broaches in the bouquet. I wrapped the handle with antique white ribbon before adding a layer of rhinestone wrap for some extra glam.

Bridal and Toss Bouquet

The bridesmaid bouquets matched but we decided to take out the tulips and add in Phalaenopsis Orchids as well as some individual oversized rhinestones.

Matching boutonnieres incuded Roses, Phalaenopsis Orchids and mini Peony buds. The wrist corsages were upgraded to include a pearl beaded bracelet—a keepsake the moms would get to wear after the big day was but a memory.

My husband, Cliff, recently worked with you in recreating my wedding bouquet for our fourth wedding anniversary. Our special day was last Friday, November 8, and as expected, I was surprised and touched with this incredibly thoughtful gift. I was completely taken away, not only by the tremendous resemblance in sight, but also how remarkably similar this bouquet was in weight to the original. If I close my eyes, I can actually believe I’m holding the exact bouquet from 4 years ago! Your work and your attention to detail is extraordinary; you are so very talented! Cliff also spoke highly of your customer service and the great time and patience you took in working with him to ensure that this project turned out perfect. I personally thank you for creating this beautiful reminder of our wedding day, and for all the assistance you gave Cliff to help him make our day so special.

Amanda wanted her amazing bridal bouquet recreated in high quality silk flowers. Even though her wedding wasn’t in a tropical location, it did include a tropical flower- blue Dendrobium orchids. Roses are Red...

Roses that are red might make you think of Valentine’s Day, but they don’t have to! This bridal bouquet recreation in silk wedding flowers is a great example of how to keep it looking like a Hallmark holiday bouquet.

Corey sent me photos of his wife’s gorgeous bouquet he wanted to order to celebrate their fall anniversary. This bouquet included red garden and spray Roses, burgundy Dahlias, burgundy Ranunculus, ivory Ranunculus, white Waxflower, deep purple Scabiosa, Fern and Smilax.

Perhaps if the original bouquet had only included true red and white flowers, this bouquet would lack some depth and interest and make us think either Christmas or Valentine’s Day. Instead, the original florist incorporated some beautiful jewel tones, a variety of shades of red and burgundy and some lovely greenery to make this gorgeous bouquet.

I got a replica of my wife’s bouquet for our anniversary. Erin was amazing creating the bouquet and nailing the price and quick turn around time I had. It looks identical! Would definitely use her again and recommend to anyone!

Turning a Bridal Bouquet into a Display Arrangement in Silk Wedding Flowers

Sometimes recreating a bridal bouquet exactly as it was isn’t what the customer is looking for. Whether it’s the shape or size of the bouquet, sometimes a change is a great option for displaying this permanently in your home. That’s what Jacob was looking for in a custom bridal bouquet recreation in silk wedding flowers. He sent me a couple photos of his wife’s bouquet and said that since the original had been quite large, he was looking to reduce the overall size to make it a nice display size for their home.

The original bouquet consisted of ivory Roses, Shasta Daisies, Baby’s Breath, Bells of Ireland and Greens with a sheer wrap and bow.
