Salmon, Dusty Blue and White Silk Wedding Flowers- Reveal and Review

Dusty blue was a hot color in 2022 and I fully expect it to stick around through 2023. You may have seen it on my blog paired with yellow, blush pink, burgundy and even lavender! Today, I get to share a pairing that you might not expect, but as you’ll soon see, it’s an amazing combo. Salmon and dusty blue for the win!

Let’s take a look at these gorgeous wedding photos from Paige’s wedding day. These were taken by the very talented Palms and Lace Photo.

Here’s our lovely bride, Paige! Her loose, round, handtied style bridal bouquet was a mix of ivory Sophia Roses, white Anemone, ivory Cabbage Roses with peach centers, salmon Delphinium, white Larkspur, dusty blue Roses, Seeded and small leaf Eucalyptus.

The bridesmaids wore beautiful dusty blue dresses and carried a mix of the bridal flowers in smaller clutch style bouquets. We wrapped them matching dusty blue ribbon to add a little more color.

The groom’s boutonniere incorporated both main colors while we simplified the groomsmen to have a white Anemone and a touch of the salmon Delphinium.

Now that you have all the details, enjoy these lovely images from their ceremony!

Love is Blooming was able to give me exactly what I was looking for for my wedding! I shopped around for a while, but no florist could guarantee I could get the colors and flowers I wanted, and I wouldn’t be able to see them in advance. Love is Blooming gave me the exact colors and worked with me throughout the entire process to create what I wanted so that there would be no surprises on my wedding day. I would absolutely recommend working with her!

Paige also added to her order some small centerpieces. We featured the Cabbage Roses, salmon Delphinium and Eucalyptus for simple and pretty pieces. She purchases vases she liked and these mini bouquets just had to be dropped in before the big day.

Thanks again to Paige for sharing her big day with us! Are you looking for a unique spin on a well loved color for your wedding color scheme? Let’s talk!

Adjusting Expectation for Inspiration Photos for a Silk Flower Bouquet

Elijah contacted me about a very unique bouquet he wanted to order for his fiancée’ in silk wedding flowers. He had an inspiration picture that we worked really hard to duplicate. The original bouquet had white Casablanca Lilies, lots of Spray Roses and Delphinium buds that trailed down the front in two distinct pieces. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find Delphinium buds that were as large or as prolific as what he wanted. I found some mini Peony buds and, of all things, Hops that I mixed together to mimic the look of the trailing bud vines. For the greenery I added in some pieces of Smilax for a nice dark contrast to all the white flowers.

Elijah’s fiancée had a very specific vision for this bouquet, based off a bouquet she had seen a photo of and loved. This can be a tricky situation since I’m not working with the exact same material and had to make some substitutions. I asked Elijah each step along the way for his approval before coming up with the final design you see. There were some expectations that had to be adjusted, but Elijah was a great communicator and honest with me about he liked and didn’t like, what worked and what didn’t.

Anniversary around the holidays: The Gift of Bouquet Recreation

I've got a December birthday, thankfully for me it's early enough in the month that I get birthday presents separate from my Christmas presents. My daughter isn't quite as lucky. Her December 19th birthday means extended family celebrations are a mish-mash of holiday and birthday gift giving. At 6, she doesn't mind so much yet. But as her mom, I still have to plan ahead to make some distinction between her birthday and Christmas. If you have an anniversary around a major holiday, you too might be feeling the squeeze of gift giving. How do you make your anniversary gift separate but meaningful?

Jared must have been thinking the same thing because when he contacted me before Christmas, for his January anniversary, he was really planning ahead! He sent me some wedding pictures, we talked through the flowers and I got to work.

As I looked through the photos and talked with Jared about the bouquet itself, more questions came up. Jared was awesome about giving quick feedback and even asked his wife's Grandma what she remembered. He found me a more close up photo which helped even more and I was able to determine that in between the cream roses were purple Delphinium and individual blue silk flowers.

The bouquet itself also had some nice details we wanted to be sure to include. The sprays of pearls were just like the original bouquet. There was also a criss-cross sheer ribbon detail on the handle of the bouquet, over the top of the white satin ribbon. Because of the stems I was working with, I wasn't able to leave as much ribbon showing on the bottom of the handle. Sometimes I have to work with the constraints of the products. But I always work to maintain the overall look of the original floral design. Jared noticed the ribbon detail wasn't quite exact but understood and ultimately approved of the final product.

Here's the original for comparison:

Jared's awesome photographer Lauren provided these images. Check out her website www.laurensphotographs.com or give her a call: 740-859-3028. Thanks Lauren for the images!

The bouquet turned out beautiful, my wife thought they were so accurate that she asked if I had the original florist make them. Very impressive work for just a few details and pictures. Also the whole process was really quick and I felt involved throughout the whole process from design to finish. Would recommend highly.
