Elegant Cascade Bridal Bouquet

This beautiful cascade bridal bouquet is one that I couldn't help but showcase. Her requests were simple: cascading orchids with lavender accents. Oh, and don't forget the bling!

Phalaenopsis Orchids never disappoint! They are elegant, classic, and always beautiful. And when they are high quality silk flowers, they don't wilt, crush, or turn brown.  I added some ivory Calla Lilies to fill out the bouquet and then our beautiful lavender blossoms were the perfect touch on this elegant cascade bridal bouquet.

I didn't want to go over the top with the bling, so we added a rhinestone wrap to fully cover the stems for that extra wow-factor!

Groom's boutonniere and Best Man's boutonniere.

Coral and Red Wedding Bouquets

Tracy contacted me for her mid-May backyard wedding just a couple of months ago. At the time I was imagining lovely spring weather for my own backyard. But it's hard to imagine seeing grass, let alone having a wedding outside since we had 22 INCHES of snow last week (whatever, I'm over it). Luckily, I was just finishing up her flowers and these bright and fresh colors brought a lot of joy to my time spent on the inside; 2 days of a blizzard and then a day off of school makes it feel a little confined! Take a look at Tracy's backyard beauties!

The bridal bouquet is a mix of red, coral and ivory Peonies and Ranunculus. Because this backyard wedding is in California, I chose a brighter shade for her greens to give it a fresh West Coast vibe.

When I started to come up with designs for Tracy, she gave me this helpful insight into what she was envisioning for her flowers:

My preferred color palette is shades of red with maybe some coral accents. Long story short, my father is Latino but my mother is Chinese and she raised me on her own. Red is the traditional Chinese wedding color, and I wanted to have red flowers as a nod to my mom, since overall my wedding is going to be more American styled.

The Matron of Honor bouquet matches the bridal bouquet with the red, coral and ivory Peonies and Ranunculus. Same greens and same red ribbon make for a great set!

Groom's boutonniere, Groomsman boutonniere, Mother's Corsage, Sister's Wristlet

I don't typically include a photo like this in my blog posts, but I thought it might be a good idea to show you how your flowers will come if you order boutonnieres and corsages. Each personal flower is labeled and pinned, so all you have to do is recruit a trustworthy friend or family member to hand out to the recipients.

Whether you are planning a big backyard wedding or maybe just a handful of special friends and family are celebrating you, custom silk wedding flowers are a great option. You get to be a part of the design process, receive pictures of your flowers in progress and see that you're getting exactly what you dreamed of. Thanks again to Tracy for allowing me to be a part of your big day!

April Snow Showers bring May Silk Wedding Flowers!

May is always a popular month to get married. Things feel fresh and bright and it's the start of something new. There are tons of color options for May silk wedding flowers and really anything goes! From the pinks and purples, to coral and red (check back next week to see that lovely color combo), to a classic blue and white like Mary and Jason's flowers.

As a friend of the bride and groom, it was fun to talk with them about their long anticipated wedding.  Having been together for over a decade, they were more than ready to make their plans become a reality. Mary has had her dress for a while and she wanted her flowers to complement the blue accents on her bridal gown.

I found some pretty blue Hydrangea, dark blue Roses, and we added in some white Calla Lilies (these fresh touch Callas are the best!) and tied it off with some silver ribbon. Her bridesmaids will carry a smaller version of Mary's bouquet and the toss bouquet is a simple clutch of blue Hydrangea and white Callas. I left some greenery and added some berries for a fresh from the garden look.

The boutonnieres and corsages in the same high quality silk flowers were a perfect match to the bouquets.

Creating wedding flowers is a special job because it's helping a couple celebrate one of the happiest days of their lives. It's even better when you're doing it for friends! Thanks Jason and Mary for asking me to be a part of such a special day!

Spring Bridal Bouquet in Silk Flowers- Loose Style Bouquets

Last week I was in major production mode, which means I'm cranking out flowers (count is at 3 weddings and 3 recreations) like it's my job! Because, well, it is my job:) I'm loving the variety of colors, textures, and styles!  In the last week and a half, I've done blushes, purples, blues, whites, and cascading, round and loose style garden bouquets. And all were done in high quality silk wedding flowers.

This set of silk wedding bouquets are some of my favorites for spring! It's for a local May wedding which is only a few weeks off, but I was able to get some pictures of them outside before it snowed again (and again!). I was feeling inspired to share them with you as we all sit here waiting for real spring to show up.

The bridal bouquet is a mix of peonies, dahlias, roses, lavender, baby's breath, lamb's ear and eucalyptus, dried gomphrena, and some berries. Perfect for a late spring soiree!

The bride initially order a bridal bouquet and groom's boutonniere. But her family jumped in and were ready to help her round out her flowers with a couple of matching silk bridesmaid bouquets along with boutonnieres and corsages for the groomsmen, parents and grandparents. We kept things light and airy for the bridesmaids: lavender and baby's breath with some lamb's ear. The perfect compliment to her bridal bouquet!

Tropical Wedding Reception Back Home

Hearing back from my clients is always such a treat. Take a look at these beautiful photos and read about Caitlyn's story here.

Hey Erin,

It’s been a little while, but I just wanted to let you know that your bouquet was a total hit at my Hawaiian-themed reception back in November. None of the guests had any clue that it wasn’t real, and everyone was amazed with your quality of work (including myself)!

The bouquet is proudly displayed on my mantle now, and it brings me so much happiness every time I look at it. Thank you for bringing that tropical piece of my wedding back to life for me. You’re awesome!

Anniversary around the holidays: The Gift of Bouquet Recreation

I've got a December birthday, thankfully for me it's early enough in the month that I get birthday presents separate from my Christmas presents. My daughter isn't quite as lucky. Her December 19th birthday means extended family celebrations are a mish-mash of holiday and birthday gift giving. At 6, she doesn't mind so much yet. But as her mom, I still have to plan ahead to make some distinction between her birthday and Christmas. If you have an anniversary around a major holiday, you too might be feeling the squeeze of gift giving. How do you make your anniversary gift separate but meaningful?

Jared must have been thinking the same thing because when he contacted me before Christmas, for his January anniversary, he was really planning ahead! He sent me some wedding pictures, we talked through the flowers and I got to work.

As I looked through the photos and talked with Jared about the bouquet itself, more questions came up. Jared was awesome about giving quick feedback and even asked his wife's Grandma what she remembered. He found me a more close up photo which helped even more and I was able to determine that in between the cream roses were purple Delphinium and individual blue silk flowers.

The bouquet itself also had some nice details we wanted to be sure to include. The sprays of pearls were just like the original bouquet. There was also a criss-cross sheer ribbon detail on the handle of the bouquet, over the top of the white satin ribbon. Because of the stems I was working with, I wasn't able to leave as much ribbon showing on the bottom of the handle. Sometimes I have to work with the constraints of the products. But I always work to maintain the overall look of the original floral design. Jared noticed the ribbon detail wasn't quite exact but understood and ultimately approved of the final product.

Here's the original for comparison:

Jared's awesome photographer Lauren provided these images. Check out her website www.laurensphotographs.com or give her a call: 740-859-3028. Thanks Lauren for the images!

The bouquet turned out beautiful, my wife thought they were so accurate that she asked if I had the original florist make them. Very impressive work for just a few details and pictures. Also the whole process was really quick and I felt involved throughout the whole process from design to finish. Would recommend highly.

Cream, Ivory and White Wedding Flowers

The combination of cream, ivory and white wedding flowers is a much less common choice these days. Just a few years ago, many brides were opting for bold and bright colors. More recently the blush tones are in high demand. So when I get a bride who wants a more traditional color palette, I get excited about the chance to put a new spin on a timeless look.

That's what we did for Katherine's flowers. She sent me some inspiration pictures of cream, ivory and white flowers with some greens and we got started designing!  Take a look at Katherine's lush, garden inspired bouquets in cream, ivory and white flowers.

Here's the bridal bouquet: Roses, Hydrangea, Peonies, Ranunculus, Greens with silver ribbon

For the bridesmaid bouquet, we just paired back the size of the bouquet and didn't include quite as much greenery.

The cute little toss bouquet.

A mother's pin on corsage, a pink Rose boutonniere for the groom to honor his late mother and an ivory rose boutonniere for the rest of the guys.

Dried Bouquet Fail: Silk Wedding Bouquets that Last

Melanie contacted me with something I'm learning is a pretty common problem. Her bridal bouquet didn't dry very well and ended up living in a box since they got married 10 years ago.  Don't let a dried wedding bouquet fail keep you from remembering how beautiful your bridal bouquet really was! With a couple emailed pictures, some details from memory and a few weeks time, you too can have a lasting bridal bouquet recreation in silk flowers from your special day. Take a look at how Melanie's bouquet recreation turned out!

Melanie's bouquet consisted of cream Roses, white Stephanotis and some Rose greens. I finished it off with a simple white satin ribbon with a hint of the stems showing for an almost exact match to her elegant hand tied bouquet.

Photo from Duggan Studios

When planning our wedding ten years ago, I had loved the idea of silk flowers for my bouquet so that I could keep and display them forever. However, the local business I contacted was unable to squeeze our small event in, so I went with real flowers instead. After the wedding, I let the bouquet dry but it didn’t end up looking as nice as I’d hoped. I never displayed it, instead relegating it to a closet.

In January of this year, with our ten year anniversary approaching, I again thought about silk flowers, this time as a way to recreate my bridal bouquet. When I searched online, Love Is Blooming was one of the top results. I looked through Erin’s work and was sold immediately. If she could create such stunning, vivid, and detailed bouquets for other clients, I knew my simple bouquet would turn out perfectly. And it did! Finally, after a decade, I have a bouquet I can display and be proud of.

Erin’s work is beautiful, her prices are reasonable, and she completed my bouquet more quickly than I anticipated. I absolutely would recommend her to others.

Bridal Bouquet Recreation- Treat Yo Self!

Katie emailed me a few weeks ago looking to have her bridal bouquet recreated in silk flowers. What I thought was awesome is that she was hoping to have her silk bouquet in time to celebrate Valentine's Day with her husband. Such a great idea and I love that she bought her bouquet as a Valentine's gift to herself and her husband. Treat yo self, right?

Her unique bouquet was filled with beautiful champagne Roses, blue and white Hydrangea, lime green Button Mums, green Hypericum berries, yellow Heather, Leather Fern, and these awesome twisty glitter twigs. So despite the weather being still cold and white up here in the north, I was able to track down these gorgeous spring/summer flowers and colors and put it all together to help Katie and her husband celebrate Valentine's Day together.

Take a look at her Valentine's bouquet recreation!

I was so in love with everything about my wedding day, my dress, my new husband of course and my flowers. Now after having my beautiful bouquet recreated I can look at those flowers sitting on my table and smile, remembering all the happy memories I have of my special day. They are a perfect match and I couldn’t have asked for a better recreation. Thank you so much!

Destination Wedding Silk Flower Bouquet- Cruise Ship Edition

Well it's still winter here, but I hear that in other parts of the world it's actually pretty warm. Hard to imagine right? Maybe not if you are a Floridian, but fellow Northerners feel my pain.

Well let me give you a little something to inspire you for spring, summer or your next cruise!  LaPriece contacted me over email, then her fiance' contacted me via phone, then we all got on the phone together and had a fun chat about silk flowers for their upcoming cruise ship destination wedding.

LaPriece knew she didn't want a traditional white or ivory bouquet, she was all about adding color, texture and a more modern take on greenery. She had some concerns about how to get the bouquet on the ship in one piece. I told her about some of my other destination wedding couples and methods we've used in the past for transporting flowers and keeping them in tact.

After exchanging a few emails full of inspiration pictures, I came up with an original design for their big day. Take a look at this bright and happy bouquet and matching groom's boutonniere.

SO many beautiful flowers and colors! Ranunculus, Roses, Hydrangea, Snowball bush, Peonies, Queen Anne's Lace, Fern, Freesia and ivory ribbon to tie it all together.

Happily, I have the silk bouquet of my dreams. Thanks to LOVE IS BLOOMING. They worked with me to create a beautiful bouquet. That might actually outstage my fabulous dress. That’s an awesome problem to have. Erin sent plenty of pictures. Had a lot of great ideas and insights. Gave me good advice about packing and shipping. And was always available for my questions. True artistry, many thanks to LOVE IS BLOOMING!

Have questions about how a cruise ship wedding or destination wedding would work with silk wedding flowers, send me an email today and let's talk!

Thanks again to LaPriece for a chance to look forward to sunnier skies and warmer days ahead!

A mauve Rose, burgundy Ranunculus, and a touch of Queen Anne's lace and fern make for an awesome groom's boutonniere.

Silk Bridal Bouquet Recreation In A Short Timeframe

I like a good challenge and I'm competitive. So when Andrew contacted me about recreating his wife's bridal bouquet in silk flowers and said he understood if I couldn't get it done before his November 20th anniversary, I mentally told him, "Challenge accepted." Then I wrote him a polite email about how I was going to make it happen. Here's a side-by-side comparison.

Ever since we have been married my wife has been raving about how much she loved her bouquet. Our first anniversary was coming up when I found Love is Blooming on the internet. From the first email with Erin I knew that getting my wife’s bouquet recreated was a good idea! The whole process was so easy, and quick! Erin made the most beautiful recreation of my wife’s bouquet, and my wife was overwhelmed when she saw them. I would highly recommend working with Love is Blooming for whatever you are looking for, you will not regret it!!

Better Gift Giving: Silk Bridal Bouquet Recreations- Part 3

Here's the last of the Christmas gift rush stories: a beautiful wild-flower silk bridal bouquet near and dear to Lee's heart. Lee was hesitant to have this gorgeous bridal bouquet recreated for his wife because he worried it was going to look cheap and tacky.  I assured him that I shop at neither Cheapskatecraft.com or Tackytown Supply Stores. Those are not real places, and if they were I would boycott them. Part of the reason Lee was on the fence is that he designed his wife's bouquet as a surprise on their wedding day. She had decided she didn't need flowers and Lee decided that was nonsense. Smart man, right? So he met with a florist and chose the flowers and style for his wife to carry. Now you can understand why he wanted to get this right! Take a look at the outcome!

I just wanted to let you know that my wife Jessica absolutely loved the flowers you created! They look beautiful on our table for display.

Better Gift Giving: Silk Bridal Bouquet Recreations- Part 2

As I mentioned in part 1, Christmas was a popular occasion to have a bridal bouquet recreated in silk flowers. But don't forget about those anniversaries sprinkled in the holiday season. Better Gift Giving: Silk Bridal Bouquet Recreations - Part 1

I'm no Santa Clause, but I got to play one this year!  I had two requests right at the end of the year to do a silk bridal bouquet recreation in time for Christmas. What a great gift right? Skip the perfume and the fuzzy socks and take a minute to honor your wedding day and your special bride. Love it!

Bob sent me a couple photos and I got to work tracking down all the components. Take a look at what I came up with!

My wife absolutely loved the recreation of her wedding bouquet!! Erin did an amazing job with just a couple pictures. We couldn’t be happier with the results!!

Here's the original bouquet. Bob's awesome Aunt was their photographer and captured these great images that allowed me to recreate this beautiful bouquet.

Blush and Mauve Silk Bridal Bouquet

Finished product shots are really fun to take and to show. I get to see the process from start to finish: from inspiration board/photos, to a pile of flowers in my studio, to construction, finishing touches, and final photos.

I shared one of those steps with you in a post about a vintage blush and mauve silk bridal bouquet for Susan. She had a broach made custom for her bridal bouquet and wanted some additional bling added in. She gave me quite a bit of freedom in the design which is always a fun challenge. Here's the pile o' flowers picture:

bridal-bouquet.jpg

And here's the finished product:

Mauve roses, pink and cream Hydrangea, Ivory and pink Calla Lilies, Lamb's ear

Erin was very creative with my bouquet in choosing the perfect flowers to compliment my antique inspired wedding gown as I had no idea as to what kind of flowers to choose. It was beautiful and looked so real and she did not over price the bouquet. I would definitely recommend Love Is Blooming 100%. I am absolutely satisfied, my bouquet is stunning and is a keepsake to last forever.
— Susan | Tennesee

We added in some gold buttons with rhinestone details along side the broach; a good complement without taking away from such a unique piece. The groom's boutonniere was a single mauve rose with some lamb's ear tucked behind and wrapped in the same ribbon as the bouquet.
