Wild Winter Wedding with Silk Wedding Flowers

I thought this post would be a good kickoff to the official first day of winter! With Christmas right around the corner, I wanted to show you something that captures the spirit of winter without being all, “Hey, I’m a Christmas bouquet!”

They say snowflakes are all different, so why can’t wedding flowers? I get the luxury of coming up with custom designs for my brides. There are no books of silk wedding flower packages to limit you to. If you can dream it, I can do it!

I feel like Emily’s flowers fall into this category. She wanted a wild, winter look for her December wedding flowers with twigs, branches, pussy willow, mistletoe and pops of jewel tones to accent her green wedding dress.

Her bouquet was another “may appear bigger in real life” bouquet that is just magical. The blue thistle pays homage to her fiance’s Scottish background, and the bits of burgundy Eucalyptus keep this bouquet on the warmer side of becoming too frosty.

Herer’s the toss bouquet that matches the bridal bouquet in a simpler style.

We went a little different route with the bridesmaid bouquets. Instead of them closely matching the bridal bouquet, we used more of the burgundy with some Calla lilies, along with the white Freesia, blue Thistle, Boxwood, Pussy Willow, and Mistletoe.

The boutonnieres and corsages used a little bit of everything so that we could customize some of the personal flowers based on who would be wearing them.

Bright Fall Silk Wedding Flowers Review

This beautiful bride combined fall silk wedding flowers to her bridal bouquet for a colorful and fun wedding. It was a fun project to work on. Check out some of her photos and more!

Where do I begin. Erin worked very hard to source all of the most beautiful and realistic looking flowers I have ever seen. These are not flowers from Michael’s. She not only went above and beyond to make sure my bouquet was the vision I had in mind, she was able to see beyond that. When there was not the exact holly berry I was wanting, she found something exactly like it in quality. The thing I loved most was that she did not put a whole lot of work back on me. I had been in touch with other florists who wanted me to basically map out how the bouquet should look. Not Erin, because she is a visionary with floral details. I am so glad I chose to work with Erin. Not only did I have a beautiful bouquet for my special day; I now have a beautiful bouquet for every day. Thank you again Erin, for helping to make my wedding day dreams come true. Your bouquets are nothing short of spectacular!

Whimsical Silk Wedding Flowers

One of my new favorite finds over on Instagram is following people that make dollhouses (I’ve always loved miniature things, and I’m proud of it). What’s so amazing about them is that in some of the photos you can’t tell it’s a dollhouse! Keep that in mind when I show you this silk bridal bouquet because sometimes photos don’t give an accurate picture of the size of something. In this case, this baby is actually much bigger than the photo does it justice. Stretching almost 2.5 feet wide, this whimsical silk bridal bouquet was absolutely breathtaking. Lexi worked closely with me to nail down the specific colors she wanted in the bouquet. I worked with her requests and a few style photos she sent to come up with this design. Behold!

Here’s the rundown of what went into this showstopper:

-Ranunculus in white and coral
-Roses in mauve
-Peonies in hot pink and yellow
-Dogwood in dusty blue
-Freesia in white and red
-Skimmia berries in dark blue
-Fall berries in burnt orange
-Fern and ficus greenery

The bridesmaid bouquets were much more typical sized and had less of a variety of the flowers from the bridal bouquet. These summer bouquets were magical and I can only imagine how amazing they would look for spring, summer or even fall!

Lexi wanted to include her flower girls in the grand scheme of her floral designs so I came up with these sweet little floral crowns that matched the bridal bouquet and added some brightness to their aisle walk. Thanks to my daughter for being a willing model;)

If you’ve been looking for a little whimsy in your wedding flowers, or perhaps a less common shape like Lexi’s bouquet, silk flowers are where it’s at. If we don’t get the shape quite right, we can make adjustments so there are no surprises on your wedding day. Well at least no floral surprises. Fill out the Free Bride’s Checklist for a quote!

Burgundy and Blush Silk Wedding Flowers

Burgundy and Blush might have been someone’s million dollar idea this year. Even though I don’t know who decided it would be a hot color combo for bridal bouquets this year, I do know that I’ve loved all the different designs that have come out of it for silk wedding flowers here in my corner of Minnesota.

Anna wanted mostly the wine/burgundy in her bouquets with just a hint of blush. Her bridal bouquet was the modified cascade style draping, texture, and saturated colors. Basically she had a dreamy, romantic bridal bouquet with Dahlia, Calla Lilies, Cherry Blossom, Ranunculus, Babys’ Breath, and Eucalyptus. All the bouquets were finished up with a lovely burlap with lace overlay. It added to the rustic charm that Anna was hoping for.

The bridesmaids carried similar style bouquets with some slight changes that would allow the bridal bouquet to stand out a little more. The toss bouquet had the same variety of flowers as the bridal bouquet, just smaller and more throwable…throwier…aerodynamic!

Bridesmaid and Toss Bouquet

Here are some of the boutonnieres using the every classic and trust-worthy Calla Lily in a dark burgundy. These guys never let you down on your wedding day, especially because they are silk and you never have to worry about them getting crushed in all those bro-hugs or wilting in our unpredictable Minnesota weather.

Maybe you didn’t come up with this winning color combination, but you definitely want to use it in your own wedding. Fill out the Free Bride’s Checklist to get a quote and get the design process started with me!

White, Green, Gold and Succulents in Custom Silk Wedding Flowers

I’m convinced that the greenery trend is sticking around for a while. I keep finding new and interesting ways to incorporate greenery and of course there’s always succulents! But there’s also Lamb’s ear and Berries and Seeded Eucalyptus! So many options, so let’s just go ahead and use them all. Sounds like it would be a lot, right? Take a look at these gorgeous silk wedding flowers and bridal bouquets to see what I’m talking about.

Boutonnieres with succulents.

This white, gold and green themed wedding was so fun to do. Every arrangement was a little different but classy all the way. We didn’t want to overdo it with the gold, so a sheer gold ribbon was the perfect touch to tie off the bouts and corsages. The bouquets all had a beautiful burlap and lace wrap on the stems to complete the rustic charm.
