Spring still feels a long way off in Minnesota’s winter wonderland, so I want to share some bright, happy and colorful silk wedding flowers with you today! Amy had a VISION for her wedding florals, and I absolutely loved getting to designs so many arrangements for her July wedding. She wanted lots of colors and texture in each arrangement, and we worked closely to pick out just the right combination of flowers for the look she wanted to capture. Amy’s bouquet was big and awesome and so fun to design with her! Her large handtied bouquet was a mix of burgundy and pink Peonies, blue Delphinium, Billy Button, mini yellow Ranunculus, Waxflower, Baby’s Breath, burgundy Berries, Bluebell, Lilac, mini White Daisies, Fern, Ruscus and white Seeds. I love that there is so much to see in her bouquet. It has visual interest and depth from all the contrast without looking chaotic.
The bridesmaids wore these lovely pale blue dresses which made their bouquets pop even more. They carried a similar mix as the bridal with a few swaps. Their purple feature was some Delphinium instead of Lilac and we didn’t include the fern. These slight changes kept a very cohesive look without them being exact matches.
It took me a few glances to notice that the groom was wearing black and the groomsmen were wearing navy blue. Kind of like the bridesmaid having a slightly different bouquet, this is a great way to set apart your groom in a subtle way. The groom’s boutonniere incorporated all the colors from the bridal bouquet and the groomsmen had simpler bouts with a pink Cabbage Rose and Bluebell.
This next set of photos shows some arrangements that carried her color scheme and floral designs throughout their venue. Here you can see a large bouquet style arrangement that I designed for a table top. What’s cool about make this arrangement bouquet style is that Amy was able to get the flowers ahead of time and pick out a vase that she liked and was the right scale and look for the space. Plus we didn’t have to worry about glass breaking in transit.
Below shows the cake flowers that Amy ordered as a loose mix. I gave her a variety of flowers and greenery that matched her bouquet and her baker placed those items on and around the cake. She had that adorable custom topper so she didn’t need a finished arrangement for that. It’s a great option if you want some florals for your cake but maybe don’t know how you want them placed on the cake.
Sweetheart tables are a lovely way to be a part of the reception but also give you a moment to breath and connect with each other during dinner. I designed a swag for the sweetheart table that draped over the front edge a little bit and was custom made for the size of their table.
