I hereby declare this the year of the wildflower wedding! I have absolutely loved creating several wildflower inspired silk bridal bouquets and the extra fun detail is that they’ve had such beautiful backdrops! Rachel’s wedding is another example of that! She was planning a micro wedding in Colorado, so technically a destination wedding since she calls Nebraska home. She sent me some inspiration photos, noting that she wanted a loose, more wild looking bouquet with color and some ivory. I sent flower suggestions, and we worked on the designs together. Now I get to show you the lovely results of our teamwork. Here are some photographs from Abby Shepard Photography.
I feel like there’s not much to say, except, WOW! Not only was Rachel a magazine worthy bride, but the location they chose for the wedding is breathtaking. The design we came up with together for her bridal bouquet was a good complement to the natural surroundings. It added the perfect amount of color and texture! Rachel’s carried a large loose, handtied style bouquet with a mix of white Daisies, blue Blossoms, Billy Buttons, orange Zinnias, coral Cosmos, yellow Wild Daisies, white Astilbe, blue Delphinium, yellow Baby's Breath, Ruscus and Eucalyptus. Let’s take a closer look at the bouquet and we also get to see the amazing detail on Rachel’s dress!
We finished off her bouquet with a satin chiffon, raw edge ribbon in antique white. You can see the detail of the ribbon on the groom’s boutonniere in this photo. His boutonniere complemented the bouquet with a coral Cosmos, Daisy, yellow wild Daisy, blue Blossoms and greenery.
Here’s a good example of crafting your designs to work with your location. I think a really formal bouquet would work with this mountain landscape, but it was also begging for a wildflower bouquet like Rachel’s.
